Rayah

I flash a smile at Jace and wrap my arms around his neck, keeping my eyes closed.

Jackie

I smile, thinking, "Well, My favorite color is red, I like roses, I'm daughter of Athena, have an older brother and younger sister, I work at the Main Court as a guard, already graduated college early, have telekenisis, teleportation and empathy. What about you?"

Jace

I pull Rayah closer but make no further move, just swaying with her.

Nic

I smile and take a deep breath, "My favorite color changes daily but is gold today, roses smell nice, have two adopted brother-things, am the son of a psychopathic a*sh*le who wants to kill everyone he sees, am from a planet called Avalia that no longer exists because of that same psychopathic father of mine, haven't gone to college but have a higher intelligence and can absorb that of those around me to use to my advantage, can bend light, and temporarily possess someone."

Rayah

He pulls me closer and I let him, keeping my forehead against his as we sway.

Jackie

I nod, "Impressive. My mother can be like that sometimes. A control freak, I mean. Sometimes I go into the mortal world to visit my dad. Since my mom barely checks up on me and only comes to me when she wants something. My dad's different. But I'm half mortal. Unlike Rayah and Jesse and all them," I smile.

Jace

I take a deep breath, tightening my grip around her.

Nic

I nod, flashing a smile, "I don't remember my mother. She left Avalia before I could walk. Jace's mom raised me for a while, but then my father, who posed as his I guess, messed up things..."

I take a sip of my water, thinking about it.

"She left too," I add, "But it's good you have your dad. It's nice to have an older figure in your life who you can go to for anything. Everyone needs guidance at some point."

Rayah

I smile, sighing, and tighten my grip around him as well.

Jackie

I nod, "Yeah but sometimes they can be--"

An alarm goes off and everyone freezes, a fire starting. I swear, thinking. "RAYAH!" I yell, thinking she could stop it.

Oh wait...Vanessa...!

"Um... we need everyone to evacuate, I'll handle it..." I tell Nic, jumping over the bar and pushing through the crowd. I grab my sister and make her look at me, "Go home. Get out of here. There's a fire," I order and she nods, shoving through the crowd to get to the doors.

Jace

An alarm goes off and I pull Rayah closer, looking around. Fire.

"Let's get out of here," I say, "Let the authorities handle it."

Nic

I watch her jump over the bar and order her sister out. I look around for Jace and Rayah, wanting to tell them the same. Not finding them, I head out into the crowd and look for them.

Rayah

I hesitate before someone pulls me from Jace and into the screaming crowd,

What the hell...?

I get bumped around and forced into a wall, the fire nipping at my ankles.

Ouch, Ouch, Ow!

I glance around for Jesse, not finding her, the fire gets bigger and I start coughing, How is this hurting me?

Jackie

Seeing Jace, I run to him, "Where's Rayah? She can't deal with this fire, It's too strong. Where is she?" I ask, seeing Nic come to Jace as well.

Jace

Rayah is ripped from me and I spin around, looking for her, "Rayah?!"

Jackie runs up to me and asks where she is, telling me the fire is too strong for her to handle. Nic soon comes up as well and looks around with me.

"She...she's just gone," I say, "She was there and then someone took her..."

Nic

I swallow at my brother's state of being and try to find the golden dress out of the crowd.

Nothing. But wait...

"I'll find her," I say, "She leaves a trail now that I was in her. It's faint, but I'll see if I can find it."

I find the shadowy-like trail and disintegrate, reappearing at the other end to find myself in front of a wall of fire.

"Rayah?" I call, "You there?"

Rayah

I hear my name and my eyes close on me, the fire burning me a million times, my skin sizzling. "Y-Yeah..." I cough, sliding down the wall.

Jackie

I nod at Nic and look at Jace, coughing, the smoke rising above us, "Jace, we need to get out of here," I grab his rist and pull him through the crowd.

Jace

Jackie pulls me through the crowd and outside, having us wait outside.

Nic

I hear her cough a response and mentally curse, disintegrating and painfully reappear on the other side of the fire wall. I find her on the floor and drop before her.

"I need you to hold onto me, okay?" I tell her, taking her in my arms with no intent to start anything, "I'll get you out of here and back to Jace, but you need to hold on, alright?"

Rayah

I hear someone say something and I keep coughing, my arms and legs burned and the flames closing me in even more.

"I need you to hold onto me," I hear a gist of it and hold onto whoever scoops me up, my eyes still closed.

Jakie

I wait, worried they aren't back yet, and how the fire was flailing through the windows. I glance around, not seeing Rayah anywhere, "Sh*t," I mutter, knowing she's still in there.

Jace

I watch anxiously, afraid to blink as the fire soon becomes out of hand. Both Nic and Rayah are in there... Two of the only three people I love are in there. I-I have to go get them.

Before anyone can stop me, I bolt back into the building to look for them.

Nic

Rayah returns her grip on me and I close my eyes, concentrating. My skin blisters from the fire and I wince as it draws nearer.

C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! I did this with Jace before! I have to do it again!

I squeeze my eyes shut and force the both of us to disintegrate, reappearing outside.

Rayah

I start to drift focus just as I reappear outside, and my skin burns like hell. Jackie takes me from Nic, checking my pulse, and looks at my burns, wincing from the sight, glancing at Nic with the same worry.

Jackie

They reappear and I wince from the sight of Rayah's burns, setting her gently in the grass. I run back into the building, seeing Jace, I grab his wrist, "C'mon, t-they're okay," I tell him, dragging him out only to realize his face was covered in ash and he was coughing, "Jace, c'mon, Follow me," I coughed, and kept leading him out.

Jace

Jackie drags me back outside, my face covered in smoke and ash. I cough as she does and follow her. Rayah sits in the grass near my brother, the both of them badly burnt and covered in ash. I rush to the two of them but don't touch either, afraid it would hurt.

"Ray? Can you hear me?" I ask worriedly.

Nic

Jackie checks over Rayah and takes her from me, setting her in the grass. I don't bother moving, my hands shaking from the pain and my stomach twisted from the heat. Jace is pulled from the building and rushes to us, hovering by Rayah. I don't take it personally, knowing she's worse and his top priority, and remember the twins... Could the fire have done anything to them?

Rayah

My eyes still not opening, I can't move, my body stiff from the ash and all the burns. Jackie plops down, her face covered in ash as well and a couple small burns on her arms. I hear Jace but can't respond, my lungs burning.

Jackie

Burned, but barely hurt, I crouch before Rayah and sigh, "God..." I mutter, daring to touch her arm. She winces and I swallow, knowing she's probrably hurting like hell right now. I look at Nic, "How are we going to get her home?"
