Rayah

Jesse walks back in, a smirk on her face. "What happened?"

"I-I got in!" I laughed.

She looks at me wide eyed. "You sure?"

I stop smiling and look at her. "...Yeah. Why?"

She shakes her head. "Gimme the note."

She reads it and hands it back to me. "Are you serious? You sent a application to University of Florida? How the Hell did you get into that?"

I shrug, "How should I know?"

She smiles and shakes her head, walking out while chuckling. I sqeal again and keep reading the note over and over.

Jace

I smile and shake my head at Rayah, sitting up and watching. Florida...Connecticut...That's at least ten states away.

Rayah

I realize I have to leave here in a year or two and swallow. "I-I have to leave in like... A year or two," I whispered, sighing. "Well. I'll deal." I looked over at Jace. "Are you going to college?"

Jace

I flash a smile and hesitate before nodding, motioning for her to sit with me without a word.

Rayah

I sit with him, flashing a smile and wait for him to tell me. "Where?"

Jace

She sits with me and I smile, kissing the side of her face, "Uh, Yale."

Rayah

Wait. Yale. Isn't that like...

I flash a smile and kiss him quickly. "That's good. It's for smart people like you," I say, wrapping my arms around him, trying to push away the fact we'll be so far away.

Jace

I smile halfheartedly and nod, setting my forehead against hers as I slip my arms back around her.

"Let's...get some rest," I change the subject, "It's been a long day."

Rayah

I nod and lay down, somewhat feeling better.

Ten states away. Maybe more. We'll deal. We have breaks. Vacation...

Jace

I lay beside her and turn the lights off, kissing her forehead. Things will work out. They always do.

Rayah

A smile grows on my face as he lies next to me and I take a deep breath, trying to fall asleep but can't.

Jace

I close my eyes and sense Rayah's struggle to sleep. Hoping to console her, I kiss her cheek and pull her closer.

"What's wrong?" I whisper.

Rayah

I shake my head. "N-Nothing. Just thinking."

Jace

I kiss her quick and tighten my grip around her, "Don't think. Sleep. Everything can wait until morning."

Rayah

"You think I'm not trying to?" I smirk. "I've been trying to do that..." I sigh.
