Stella
I packed up what little things I had and stood next to Trevor, keeping an eye on everyone. Every so often, I glanced over at Mince. His leg was broken pretty badly--it was already swelling up, glowing with heat while his body tried to stop the bleeding. I shielded my eyes, squinted, and switched to x-ray vision, trying to see exactly how his leg had broken. It was hard to see in x-rays, but if I put the fire between me and Mince, there was just enough light. Stepping to the side, I focused on his leg.
There--ouch. It was broken in three places, two in his shin bone, and one in the thinner bone behind it. An entire chunk of his shin bone had separated, and was lodged much closer to his skin than it should have been. Good thing he had made himself a boot--if he put any strain on it at all, it might end up tearing muscles and ligaments and who knew what else.
"Hey, Mince," I said. "I know you have to walk, but try to keep off the leg as much as possible. That's a compound fracture, and it could get really bad if you put too much weight on it."
