I packed up what little things I had and stood next to Trevor, keeping an eye on everyone. Every so often, I glanced over at Mince. His leg was broken pretty badly--it was already swelling up, glowing with heat while his body tried to stop the bleeding. I shielded my eyes, squinted, and switched to x-ray vision, trying to see exactly how his leg had broken. It was hard to see in x-rays, but if I put the fire between me and Mince, there was just enough light. Stepping to the side, I focused on his leg.

There--ouch. It was broken in three places, two in his shin bone, and one in the thinner bone behind it. An entire chunk of his shin bone had separated, and was lodged much closer to his skin than it should have been. Good thing he had made himself a boot--if he put any strain on it at all, it might end up tearing muscles and ligaments and who knew what else.

"Hey, Mince," I said. "I know you have to walk, but try to keep off the leg as much as possible. That's a compound fracture, and it could get really bad if you put too much weight on it."

"I know you have to walk, but try to keep off the leg as much as possible. That's a compound fracture, and it could get really bad if you put too much weight on it." Stella told me.

"This is just gonna slow us down. I can probably focus a little fire under my feet and try to hover above the ground a little while we move," I said. Demonstrating, I focused some fire under the soles of my feet and hovered 2 inches above the ground. "Now, to figure out how to move," I said starting to move around getting use to moving like this.

I watch Mince elevate and see he's having some trouble moving. I hold my hand out and focus both light and fire under his feet causing him to move faster and more steady.

He looks down at his feet, confused and looks up at me and I shrug. "Mind
If I help?" I ask.

"Oh, I was wondering what those weird gestures you were making earlier were," I say, doing a cartwheel, "how do you know sign language, Nephil? Do you know Braille too? I always thought it would be fun to learn Braille, or Morse Code. Are you sure we're not being followed, Nephil? Mark, hurry up, you're falling behind and if they attack from the back, you're a goner." I stop completely, something that's rare for me.
"Oh," I say, my tone hushed, "what a beautiful sunrise!" I stand on my head to get a different perspective of it. I remember the first sunrise I ever saw; or atleast the first one I ever noticed. It was a week after I'd ran away, and I still hadn't spoken to anyone. I hadn't stopped moving, either, not even to sleep. I was scared I'd be sent back to that little room that was so tiny compared to the world. But I'd stopped for that sunrise, and it was the most glorious thing I'd ever seen. I'd stopped, and then I'd slept for I don't know how long. That's when I started to enjoy my new-found freedom. I still stop for sunrises though.
"I always think sunrises look better while standing on your head, don't you?" I murmur, glancing up at the new girl, "I still don't know your name."

Mince

When I see Victoria, I stiffen. "I can do it," I grumble. I move away getting the hang of this. Soon enough, I'm flying through the trees shocking Trever. When I'm not looking, I almost slam into a tree. I ended up clipping the side of the tree, the bark tearing into my side.

I sigh before helping him again. "Let me. I'm more powerful and can keep you in the air longer. I'm on your side." I say, throwing him back up into the air before he could hit the ground.

"I'm watching you," I say so low, only she can hear. I fly away and fly by Trever.

"Mince! Calm down before you either crash or run out of energy. Then, we will be sitting ducks," Trever tells me.

"Fine!" I shout stopping till I was sitting on a tree branch.

I study Tori, not taking that threat as lightly as I should, and notice Stella leave my side to stand by Mince, who had welded scrap metal around his broken leg. The sight of it still made me cringe, remembering how I'd been out cold when it happened.

I shouldn't have let it go down like that... I shouldn't have let things get so far.

I turn away and head back to where I'd set my bag down, packing it back up. Sighing, I run a hand through my hair, my head still bothering me.

Suddenly, Mince is sent flying through the trees.

"Mince! Calm down before you either crash or run out of energy! Then we'll be sitting ducks!" I call out.

"Fine!" He shouts back, stopping on a tree branch.

I shake my head, suppressing a smile.

Nephil explains and the girl goes off again, turning around and asking my name. I glance back at Nephil, waiting for him to tell her, though I'm sure he mentioned it before.

We kept walking until we finally came to house pretty far off from there camp. As Twila stops dead watching the sunrise before going back to her usual hyper self again. I head into the ruin's of a house that seemed somewhat in tacted and would easily hide us if they decided to pass by. I then answered Twila's question.

"It's Zaen, Twila. I said it earlier." I said.

"Oh," I say, blushing, "I'm not good at names. I'm not good at much. Did you hear that? I think it was an owl. Look, there it is, in the rafters, or what's left of them! Zaen's a pretty name, it fits you. You know, Nephil, you should teach me how to sign. Then Mark wouldn't be so annoyed when I talk all the time. I don't mean to annoyed, it- oh, look! There goes the owl, flapping away. I wonder how birds fly. My, isn't this a pretty rock right here?" I pick it up and throw it up and down, then form it into a flower, like the one on my arm, "Aren't rocks adorable, Zaen?"

Upz, this is moving too fast for me to keep up with. I'm so sorry, but I think I'll drop out. Also, since Mark doesn't say much anyways, you shouldn't really have a problem... I give my character over to you. ^^'
I'm really sorry, again.

I watch Trevor and see his head is still hurting him. I jump down from the tree and grab his arm leading him back towards A log.

"What are you doing?" He asks.

"Just shut up." I sighed, smiling. I made him sit down and started a fire. I ripped off a peice of his sleeve and folded it. I wetted it, keeping it cold and pressed it to his forehead.

"This should help. It'll help you relax and the pain will go away." I tell him, crouching in front of him.

Tori pulls me to sit somewhere else, crouching in front of me.

"What are you doing?" I ask, watching her.

"Just shut up." She sighs, smiling.

I bite my tongue, trying to keep my cool. Just tell me then, who's the authority here? She starts another fire and rips off some of my sleeve, folding it and wetting it as she presses it to my forehead.

"This should help. It'll help you relax and the pain will go away." She says.

I glance at the others, blushing in the slightest bit for being taken care of like this. Not wanting to seem weakened, I remove her hand and keep my own atop the cloth, shifting so that I was angled away from her.

"Thank you." I murmur. "Just please do not do something like that again. I'm the leader here. I take care of everyone else."
