Jace

She leans in and he leans towards her, their faces an inch from each other when the bell rings. She recoils and rolls her eyes. He sighs and releases her, the moment ruined.

Nic

He studies her, flashing a smile.
"Sure." He says, scratching the fur behind Jack's ears. "I'm around six foot, have dark brown, almost black hair and bluish eyes. I'm pretty decent looking, in my opinion, but in no way the best."

Rayah

He drops me andI curse at the bell mentally. I start walking back towards class thinking about how awesome that kiss would've been.

Rose

I grin again. "Thanks," I say, tilting my head down at where I think Jack should be. "I just..." I don't have to finish my sentence. The teacher- Mrs. Thornberry?- starts teaching at last.

Jace

He follows her back in the building and dares to take her hand, wondering what she'll do in reaction.

Her sentence is cut off by the teacher, who finally begins her lecture. He studies Rose for a few seconds more before deciding to pay attention to the lesson.

Rayah

He takes my hand and I look up at him, confused.

Time skip to the end of class

Rose

Finally, the bell rings and I feel for my bag. It's not where I put it, so I give Jack the command to look for it. "Jack, search," I say hurriedly. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I almost let Jack go, I'm so startled. I hear Nic's voice.

Jace

She looks up at him, confused, and he decides to let go, looking away as his cheeks begin to redden. "Sorry."

Nic

The bell rings and he stands, picking up Rose's bag for her. She orders Jack to search for it, not realizing he has it, and jumps when he sets a hand on her shoulder.
"Whoa, sorry." He flashes a smile. "Your bag's right here. I was just going to hand it to you."

Rayah

I swallow and nod, "It's alright." We get to next period, lunch. I get in the lunch line awkwardly.

Rose

I grin. It's not his fault I can't see that he has it, I have to remind myself. I feel everyone moving around me to get to the door so I hold out my hand for my bag. I brace myself for the pressure of the bag but I never feel it.

Jace

He follows her, as awkward as she is.

He thinks about handing it to her before slinging it over his own shoulder.
"I think I'll carry it." He says with a smile. "After all, that's the gentlemen-like thing to do, isn't it?"

Rayah

When I get my lunch I sit down at a table, all the cheerleaders soon following. Isquirm my way out and glare at them before moving over to another table.

Rose

I grin and tug on Jack's leash. "Yeah," I say, a little confused. "It is. Is this the door?" I ask, reaching out to where I think the door should be. Nic takes my hand and for once, I don't jump.

Jace

He follows her, hesitating before sitting down. "You know, if you want me to scram, you can just tell me."

Nic

He takes her hand and leads her towards it, smiling. "You don't mind if I lead you, do you? I don't want you to think that I'm treating you any differently than anyone else. I'm just trying to be nice."

Rayah-

I shake my head, "No. I want you here." I say, picking at my food.

Rose

I try not to blush, which is surprisingly almost impossible when you can't see whether your cheeks are red. "It's totally fine," I say. "Sometimes Jack gets a little distracted. You don't mind holding hands with a blind girl do you?" The question comes out before I can stop it.
