Calypso Delos- Aimed and ready
The whispers were like music to my prettily shaped ears. I had long been out attention in that 'before' stage, foolish enough to bend in corners to stay out of the way. Here, I felt like a Princess, eating up the attention as soon as it fell from my subjects mouths. Rematch of the year. I liked the sound of it.
"At your ready!" Dragon, aimed and posed to let us go to Hades with each other. "Start!"
The excitement in his voice was dampered only by a tinge of responsibility. Kelly lunged at me, but I quick stepped her aside. If my luck held up, Kelly would be to far deep in the haze of revenge to see an attack move come clearly.
"Better be smarter than that, honey." I whispered cockily in her ear.
She took a deep breath, as if to clear her haze, stepping back and aiming her light sword at me.
"Un gar, honey." Her dripping falsetto stung at my heart, but I clenched my teeth.
Focus. I find myself swinging my arm at her, the clash of her sword on mine, tinging metal through the air. Must not let her touch me. I- hopefully as well as she- knew the rules of the game. Stupid as it was, get touched three times and your out. How sadistically unbloody. She swings her own sword at my side, but I sense it coming and duck to hit her on the heart.
"Set one, Calypso!" Dragon yells.
Cassandra hands me a water bottle and I lift my mask to drink from it, but not before offering Kelly a sweet smile. Her face is stone. Dragon says the command, but this time it is less of swords and more of... well...
"I'm not letting you beat me again, Delos." Kelly snarles.
Already she seems more in control, and it sets my heart beating faster. She can assess the situation now, without the dark haze of stubborn revenge clouding her vision. I realize with a shock that she could actually beat me- she learned from her mistakes, and was now more powerful.
Hell.
I needed a tactic and one quickly. Super speed can only dodge clear eyes for so long. Looking at her, concentrated under her ugly white fencing mask, sent a shock of anger through me. How dare she say my group of friends were whores, members of some weirdo cult? She wass such a pain in my behind, and she was about to go down.
"Then bring it on." I respond with an unseeable grin.
She jabs at me again, taking the invite, but I block her with my sword. It's time for me to get my anger out- but not with this Medivial Weapon.
"So, Kelly," I say to make 'conversation', "What have you been up to since you got expelled by the Dark Daughters. Try and get ready to fail?" Her face grows a bit more red. I kinda hated doing this, on one hand, but it was so fun. "You used to be so good to us, but now? I bet you can't even through a fireball." She heaves her sword at me, and I barely avoid it. Damn. I need to dig a little harder. I'm out of breath as I speak. "Not terrible, but I guess your just as weak as you used to be."
"Shut up." She mutters, running her sword across the edge of my face.
"Make me." I block another attack, lunging for her neck to stop this all- or at least this round.
"Maybe I will."
That's when she throws the fireball.
