I watched as they conversed with the new comer. Dark Daughter? I thought to myself, feeling worthless being one of the new years.

I sense more tension from the new fledgling, which made me so off balance I could barely make out the music I was listening to. I turned off my MP3 player and growled deeply in disgust. I was in no mood for conversation, not with this much tension all over. I stepped out to the halls, but was stopped by Neferet. I sensed she was furious of me walking out and wondering why I did that. I sighed and said lowly, "There's too much tension in there and I can't handle it. As far as I'm concerned, the new fledgling won't last a month without getting a lot of attention. And don't think you'll ever get anything from me. I'm impossible to break." I went to my room, greeted by purrs from Angel. I held her in my arms, petting her as she purred against me.

It was obvious the two girls didn't like each other. I watched as they went face to face, giving the other I'm-a-bigger-bitch-than-you-glare. I didn't really want to be in the middle of this right now. Not only was all conversation stopped, but all eyes were facing this direction--not like before when it was only the majority of the fledglings. Now everyone had their full attention on the chick fight about to break out any minute, and the weird new girl and her abnormal, never-before-in-the-history-of-Vampyres-has-any-fledgling-been-Marked-like-this Mark.
And that new girl just happened to be me.
Oh Goddess why couldn't I just fit in like everyone else? I sidestepped the two glaring girls, muttering, "I'm Zoey," and then walking past them. But more than half of the fledglings' eyes fallowed my every movement, as well as the two obviously hateful girls, Calypso and Whatever-Her-Name-Was. Don't get me wrong, they were both really pretty with their sapphire Marks plastered in the middle of their foreheads, making them look like Goddesses of a different kind.
Calypso smiled a perfect Barbie smile at me, showing a set of perfectly white teeth. She was obviously trying to hold back jumping on the other girl.
"Look, I'm not really in the mood for any more attention than I already have, so if you want to talk to me, can we please do it outside? Possibly out of sight of everyone else." I had said it all in a small whisper, but I muttered the last part. I knew everyone in the room had heard the first part, because of how silent it was. Ignoring both of them, I walked off, feeling my face get hot as I looked into the eyes of the rest of the school.
"Hey, you can sit with us!" A small group of fledglings were waving their hands frantically trying to get my attention. After grabbing my food, I went to sit with them hesitantly, looking back at the other two girls. Calypso was giving me the stank eye and the other girl was just smiling apologetically at me. Thank the Goddess no fight had broke out between them right in front of me.

The new girl walked off, I was surprised to say the least but, I was ready to go rounds with Calypso. Screw the fact that she had super speed, I wanted to go a few round I had the energy for a few shots it was all I was gonna need. I was about to whistle for my pals to help out. but I noticed Pharaoh was gone, just like him to much tension and he up's and disappears on me. Wonderful right when I need him most, I walked back out the dining hall and went to his dorm.
"Pharaoh!: I called out in a whisper.
"Pharaoh, where are ya?!" I call out in another whisper as I knocked on his door.

I was standing in the middle of my dorm when I heard Kelly asking for me. I opened the door to look at her in the eye. I told her lowly, "There was too much tension in the dining hall, so I had to bail out before I get a serious headache. It's hard for me to shut off my empathy affinity these days. If you're here to ask me of my opinion on the new fledgling, I just hope she doesn't cross paths with me. You don't want to know what happens when someone crosses me."

I looked at him, it was hard to believe I trained with him two years ago when we first came to the house together. His empathy had turned out to be hard to turn off, while I found it difficult to stop seeing things from the future.
"Well I need you now, I need some back up and there's no way I can take The Dark Daughter's on my own." I said.
"You seemed to do just fine against the leader, to a point." He said in a quiet tone.

Neferet was still stood in the doorway and I saw her looking rather menecingly in my direction and for a split second her spririt flared and I flinched as if I had been burnt. Quickly I averted to my attention back to this new blood. "What are you doing?" Ethan whispered to me, "She looks like she use a friend, I mean, remember what is was like when you first came?" He nodded, "Well imagine that but worse... A lot worse." She had finished gathering food to her tray which was shaking softly and was slowly walking towards us. I scooted over on my bench making room for her, nudging Cassidy with my foot as I went. "Thank-you...." She murmured as she sat. "No-problem," I said loudly, hoping everyone else in the room would take it as their que to get back to their usually noisy selves, "So, what's your name then? I'm Athena and this is Ethan," I said smiling kindly gesturing to myself and Ethan as I spoke. I felt a goodness in her, despite how scarred she was, it was as if she were goddess blessed. "Oh! And this is Cassidy," I said as he poked his head out from under the table, tongue hanging from the side of his mouth.

I was more than relieved that these two fledglings acted more than normal around me. I needed a heavy dose of normal. So normal was how I was going to act right now. I wasn't going to act like I was scared or like I was nervous, though my hands were shaking so bad it was unreal. So I put a hand under the table to pet Cassidy, hoping they would stop shaking enough that I could eat.
"I'm Zoey," I said, my voice sounding way more confident than I felt. Some conversation had picked back up in the caf--I mean dining hall, so it wasn't completely silent anymore and my words didn't seem to travel across the room. I dared to glance around the room and caught the eye of Neferet--my mentor and High Priestess. Her face was blank at first and then a slow smile spread across her face. I couldn't help but smile back, she was like a mother to me--the mother I don't have anymore.
"So, Zoey," Athena said, breaking my revere. "What do you think about the House of Night so far?"
Bringing my gaze back to the table, smile still on my face, I shrugged. "It's ok I guess. I haven't really had any classes yet, but I'm ok with that." I gave a little laugh and began sounding more like myself. This was just like my first day of high school, all over again. Well except I was new girl here, as apposed to just being in a new place. It was still awkward as hell.

So I just found these (believe it or not.) These are The House Rules: Spoiler
RULE #1: If you’ve been Marked by a Tracker, night has chosen thee. You will go through the Change and turn into a vampyre. However, if your body rejects the Change, you die.
RULE #2: If you are Marked, you must leave your home and move into the House of Night school, where you will take your place as a fledgling and live for four years.
RULE #3: At the House of Night School, classes begin at 8pm and end at 3am. The gym is open until dawn.
RULE #4: You can never be far from an adult Vampyre for long. And it’s not like you’ll turn into a pumpkin. It’s a much bigger deal than that.
RULE #5: Formal rituals are held at Nyx’s Temple twice a week. At the ceremony’s commencement, turn to the east, south, west and north to summon (in order) air, fire, water and earth.
RULE #6: If one of the cats at the school chooses you, you will belong to him or her. Not the other way around.
RULE #7: Every High Priestess is given an affinity, or special powers, by the Goddess.
RULE #8: If you ever leave school grounds, you cannot wear any part of your uniform (which is primarily basic black) and must conceal all tattoo markings.
RULE #9: Here at the House of Night school, there are no lockers. You will have cabinets in your homeroom. If someone steals something, the vamps will know it. As will Nyx.

I left Pharaoh's room and went back to the dining hall, I hated the fact I was getting no back up in the case Calpso decided to jump, My anger was building and my visions haven't kicked in to help me.
By the time I was back in the dining hall it was nearly time to head back to class, I considered in just turning around. But I wanted to see if I could get at the new blood.

Introduction to Music, that's my next class. Guess I'm gonna go on I thought to myself. I finished my meal and headed to Prof. Vento's class.

"So what class do you have next?" Ethan asked. I hadn't heard him speak to me since I sat down, so when he spoke, I felt myself jump a little. I looked up at him. He was cute with messy black hair and a skin that was a perfect tan color. And, stupid as I was, just stared at him. His eyes were so beautiful, they captivated me and held my mouth shut--for the moment anyway.
I blinked, realizing I hadn't answered his question. Blushing, I dug around in my bag until I found my schedule.
5th Hour--Spanish 101-Prof. Garmy 6th Hour--Intro to Equestrian Studies-Prof. Lenobia
"Spanish," I answered finally. Athena leaned over to look at my schedule, so I handed it to her. She read over it and handed it back to me, smiling.
"We have third hour together," she said. I felt myself relax a little. At least I would know someone in one of my classes, and that someone was one who liked me. At least I hoped so.

I looked at Zoey. Man was she beautiful. She had long, glossy black hair that reached all the way down her back, flawless skin, big, beautiful eyes, and a beautiful smile. I looked down at her schedule. "Looks like we have five classes together. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th hour." I said comparing my schedule to hers. She smiled at me. "So I guess we'll be seeing a lot of each other." She said. I have her my most charming smile. I guess so." After I said it a pile of whiter fur landed in my lap. I grabbed Tilly in my arms and stroked er snow white fur. She purred. "Aww what a cute cat, when did you get her?" Zoey asked. "Actually Zoey, here at the House of Night the cats choose you," Athena answered for me. "Oh wow, that's cool." Zoey remarked petting Tilly's head. I looked up at the clock. "Oh lunch break is almost over. Come on Zoey, I'll alk you to class." We parted ways with Athena, then walked of to Spanish.
