According to their current privacy policy, Facebook doesn't own anything you post on Facebook without your consent. (Consent is not given by putting that information on Facebook.) "While you are allowing us to use the information we receive about you, you always own all of your information."
Just to clarify, information you post in statuses and such counts as the infromation mentioned above. "Information you choose to share: Your information also includes the information you choose to share on Facebook, such as when you post a status update, upload a photo, or comment on a friend's post."
I had an account, but when I did visit it, I either found it boring or had to click ignore a couple of times to get some friend invites out of my sight. I deleted it recently, and do not regret it. Anyhow, there are too many commoners on it.
