Norm -

I was at a job interview, unable to focus on the employer's questions due to a crooked painting hanging on the wall behind him. If it's one thing that I can't stand, it's crooked paintings.
"Do you have any experience with computers?" He asked.
"Do you know what a data entry clerk does?", He asked
"Are you going to answer my questions, or are you going to keep staring at that painting of my wife?"

"I'm sorry, what?" I said.

"Did you listen to a word I said?", He asked.

"Uhh.. Sorry, the..uh, picture's crooked. Are you going to fix that, or...."

The employer took a deep sigh and said "What was the last job you had?"

"I was a.. uh.. telemarketer". I say.

"And did you quit, or did you get fired?"

"Fired, sir".

The employer began tapping a pen on his desk and shifted his gaze towards the window, probably trying to think of what to say next. The fact that his eyes widened with fear didn't seem like a good sign. I looked to the window and saw a large dark object emerging from that one lake nearby.

He grabbed his coat from the back of his seat and began making his way towards the office door. "If I were you, I'd get the hell out of here as fast as you can".

"Why?" I asked, not sure of what that thing was.

"Well, whatever the hell that is doesn't seem normal", the employer pointed at the black thing emerging from the lake. "If those monster movies my son watches are anything to go by, that thing is going to take out half of the city".

He began darting through the hallway towards a nearby elevator. I followed him. "Did I get the job?" I asked as the employer began hitting the open button.

"Does it matter?"

"Well, I..uh, kind of need money so I could pay my rent".

The elevator doors opened and the employer rushed in. "Look kid, your house, or apartment, or whatever isn't going to be here by the time that thing hits the city". The elevator doors closed, and I was stuck staring at a metal wall.

As directed, we followed Blighton to the base. We had to help each other out due to injuries that we had received in the fight with the spiders. If I ever saw another spider it would be too soon.

Once at the base, he administered first aid on all three of us. Hunter was up first, and then me. As he worked on bandaging my wounds, I could not help but think-If he was alive, that has to mean that everyone was alive. That includes Laiel too.

"Blighton," I started. "Do you know what happened to everyone else?"

Right as he was about to answer, we heard screaming coming from the T.V. room. Without thinking we both jumped up and ran toward the noise. It was a news feed. People were running and screaming in terror; and behind them was a Levitation.

"Rest for now. That's is where we are heading after you guys are healed up." I sated while staring at the T.V. Nodding I walked away and crawled in to the bed. Letting sleep take me in to is peaceful grasp.

Oh, I didn't think that Italian had killed him yet. That's my fault. We can say that Roger died asleep and the spider bites hadn't been adminsitered in time. I'll post that after the funeral gets under way. :D

Diablo Draco | A village in Mexico

I cried in my mother's arms as I mourned over my father's passing. I didn't know him very much, but at least I managed to see him before his passing. My mother tried her hardest to comfort me, but I knew she was just as sorrowful as I was. I looked at my mother in the eye and she told me that my father never wanted to be buried. He would rather become ashes and used to help a plant grow whenever I decide to settle down. I knew what I must do. I had to respect my father's last wishes. I fought the urge to resume crying as I told my mother, "Algún día, voy a hacer que usted y el padre orgulloso."
My mother hugged me and replied with the same Spanish accent I always spoke with, "I know you will, Angel. Do what you can to help your amigos." She kissed my cheek. "I'll never forget you, my long-lost son."
I had to wait until nightfall to do what I must. After setting my father's corpse in a circle of stones and piling sticks overtop of him, I shifted full dragon and breathed a jet of dragonfire to set the sticks alight. I shifted back to watch the pyre burn. "Adiós, Padre. Nunca me olvidaré de ti." I stayed outside, watching the pyre burn as tears ran down my face.

Argo - Chicago - Heading for the Ocean

Argo saw the puny girl... yes! She was one of those cursed shifters.
Argo roared his defiance again, then set out in pursuit, thrashing and snapping, bringing down buildings and tearing chunks out of the streets.
He was sure that he saw a lump of masonry fall and hit the girl's bike, but then lost her in the dust cloud that had ballooned upwards following his attack.
Defeated, Argo roared one last time, then flapped slowly back to the lake and sank back into the waters, heading away at high speed.
If the shifters wanted to find him, they'd have to wait a while.

Skylar - Chicago - Under a pile of rubble

I pulled myself from up under the rubble that had hit my bike, to only see the gaint monster gone. I looked at what once stood proudly as Chicago only to see no hope left for it, it had destroyed it all and whatever people it had. I tried to stand up, only to find that a piece of rubble had torn into my left leg and was bleeding severely. I fall back to my hands and knees only to feel light headed, ready to pass out from the pain in my leg. I fall onto my side and the last thing I recall is my once proud home destroyed.

"God damn it all." Was my last thought before doing so.

Somehow, Diablo had gotten us to Mexico. My head still spins as we wait for word on what to do. He disappears into the closest house and I plop down in the dirt, looking at Elsa. I take her hand and guide her beside me, leaning against her. Diablo returns a few hours later, burning the corpse of his father. A few of the others run to comfort him in this time, knowing what it's like, but I can't bring myself to move and in turn don't let Elsa's hand go.

Not that I'd admit it, that I'd show it, but I'm scared. Something in the pit of my stomach tells me this war of ours has just changed for the worse, that gaining Diablo as an ally was something we wouldn't be able to go without any longer.

Something bad is happening, and I can't shake the feeling that we'll soon be involved.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up

Gale - Australia - His parent's lab in the outback

"You see honey," my mother was saying. I was distracted though: my mind kept wandering back to the Shifters. I wondered how they were dealing with the leviathan... I got a sudden image of a terrified Hunter, and smiled. That would show her.
"We are developing a new serum" I perked up, turning my swivel chair to face her, though the glare from the white neon lights was near-blinding.
My dad strode in from the door behind the lab, rubbing his hands excitedly.
"And the possibilities are endless, Gale"

Laiel

Laiel was quiet as he approached Diablo. The flames silhouetted the other shifter, but he could see that Diablo seemed heartbroken.

Diablo turned to look who was coming, and Laiel was still a little surprised to see that Diablo had tears running down his face. Then again, Laiel reasoned, what could he expect? He'd just lost his father after finally getting him back.

Finding such sadness in the man's eyes, Laiel suddenly didn't know what to say. Jeez, now he wanted to cry himself, seeing that. "He would be proud," was all Laiel could think of, and then he fell awkwardly silent.

Is this alright, Redfang?
