Vampires and Slaves (Enter This Realm To Die)

Fidelis

"I've been in the city for seven years and I know there are other vampires out there." I looked at Allan's parents straightly. "Most of them would still have the nerve to go after Allan because of his blood. His blood is so rare for vampires to taste, since only one mortal every century have blood that offers a sweet surrender. I know so because I've tasted it myself and will guard him with my life. What other vampires don't know is that a mortal like Allan is born once a century, so chances are they'll come after the both of you because they assume special blood runs in the family."

Allan

"Oh," My mother says, her voice masking the fear she was beginning to feel.

"Well I suppose we'll be seeing a lot more of each other then," My father says.

Fidelis

I nodded. "As long as I'm feared by the other vampires other than the Queen, you and your wife are safe. However, if even one vampire gets his or her fangs through your skin, I'll kill the vampire myself and might have to turn you. But that's only if a vampire strikes the nerve to attack one of you. Silver, who knows my history as much as you do, will watch Allan while I come to your rescue. I'll only turn you if a vampire attacks one of you. I'm not saying I'd do it now, just saying I will when you're attacked." I stood on my feet. "On the other hand, I'd do it while you're still healthy. But that's if you choose so. Unlike the one who turned me, I won't turn another into one of my kind against his or her will. I rather let it be a choice."

Allan

Was he offering to change my parents?

"Uh, we'll keep that in mind," My father tells him, "But we're alright as of the moment."

There's silence for a few moments.

"Are you thinking of changing Allan?" My mother asks.

Fidelis

I had to confess. "Yes, but I left it up to him. Like the offer I gave you, I gave Allan the choice to either remain mortal or allow me to turn him. I don't feel like forcing it upon anyone. Not like it was forced upon me. If he wants me to turn him, it's his choice. I can wait. I swear it to the gods."

Allan

I lean against the couch cushion again, in wait of their response. As I do, I think about that choice of mine, still unable to come to a good enough conclusion.

"And if he were to choose to be, what would change about the situation?" My father asks, being a lot more passive about this than I imagined he would be.

Fidelis

I shrugged. I never thought of it before, but I had a guess. "If he choose to be turned, then you and your wife would be out of danger. From what I've seen from the Bloodlust Twins, the present generation is more better than the previous generation. Other vampires would want just Allan, not you or your wife." I checked the time. Two hours until sunrise. "I have to go now. Allan and my bed awaits me. Before you ask, nothing illicit to your society or mine has been between me and Allan."

Allan

I almost laugh at what he says lastly, imagining my parents faces to him even bringing it up.

"Oh, well, um, that's good to know," My father says.

Fidelis

I went to my apartment and laid down on the couch with Allan in my arms. "I know you heard the conversation between me and your parents, but don't tell one word about it to Silver. I rather not get her involved." I covered us with the blanket and fell asleep.

Allan

Fidelis comes home and tells me not to talk to Silver about any of what I heard. I smile and nod. He lies beside me and takes me in his arms, covering us up before falling asleep. I set my head on his shoulder and close my eyes, trying to fall asleep as well.

Fidelis

I slept until dusk, then noticed Allan was a little restless. "What's wrong? You look a little restless. Is something on your mind? If so, then don't be afraid to tell me." I fed from his wrist so he could breathe.

Allan

Fidelis wakes and feeds from my wrist.

"What's wrong? You look a little restless. Is something on your mind? If so, then don't be afraid to tell me." He says.

I take a deep breath, completely relaxed as he feeds.

"I'm just thinking about everything you told my parents," I understate, leaving out my mental debate about being changed.

Fidelis

I fed for a while, then released his wrist. "I was telling them that because I thought maybe I could help bring the family more closer together. You already know I had a rather shakey relationship with my own parents. Even though I offered to turn them, I doubt they'll accept so soon. I have all the time in the world. If they choose to stay as they are, it's fine with me. I'll always have you."

Allan

I flash a smile and my heart does that weird skip again.

"You will," I agree.

Fidelis

I wrapped my arms around him, almost clinging to him. "I know I gave you the choice of either letting me turn you or have you as you are. However, if you choose to remain mortal, then I'll lose you to old age. If you choose to let me turn you, then we can be together for centuries to come." My heart was aching at this. "Allan, my beautiful and delicate Allan. I offer you the choice of becoming my next generation. I don't want to wait another century to replace you."
