Vampires and Slaves (Enter This Realm To Die)

Fidelis

I closed my eyes, but didn't fall asleep. "I lied to him just to make peace with him, then I confess after going through a final battle with the Bloodlust Twins. Whether he likes it or not, he owes me his life. If I didn't free Celeste, then he or you wouldn't have been born. Haven't he ever thought of that when he was told the story by his family?"

Allan

"I-I don't know," I admit, "He and I were never on the best of terms. I was never told that story before you."

Fidelis

I sighed. "At least you know my side of the story, since it's a part of my age-old history. Chances are you and I might not be in best terms with your father for the time being, but I hope he realizes that I meant no harm to you, him, or your mother. I can't hurt you because I'm attached to you. I can't hurt your mother because my diet strictly forbids the blood of women and children. I can't hurt your father because he reminds me of fragile Celeste. I'd bend over until the top of my head is between my ankles if I could."

Allan

I nod, closing my eyes.

"I know you couldn't hurt us," I whisper, "You aren't like that."

Fidelis

I smiled. "I know. That's what makes me different. I still have my mortal emotions, so I know better than to hurt someone who hasn't hurt me. Not all vampires are as bad as the Bloodlust Twins. Who knows? I might not be the only vampire who still has human emotions." I yawned, covered us up, and fell asleep.

Allan

He covers us up and falls asleep, smiling. I lightly smile back and nestle my head on his shoulder, exhausted. I fall asleep within minutes.

Fidelis

I held him in my arms as I slept. I slept in peace through the day. After dusk, I sat up and fed from his neck, taking small amounts to go gentle on him. Once I took three mouthfuls of his blood, I bandaged his neck. I watched him wake. "Evening, dear heart." I held him close and pressed my lips against his, tasting the sweetness of him. I lost myself in the act of kissing, going no further than that.

Allan

I wake after he feeds and am greeted with a kiss. Instead of a peck on the lips like the last few, he loses himself in it, but makes no further move. I leave him to do as he wants, finding myself smiling as I kiss back.

Fidelis

I felt lost in the act of kissing as I held him against me, running my fingers through his hair. Just knowing the sweet taste of his lips had me lost in his kiss. I broke the kiss when I heard a knock. I got out of bed and led Allan to the living room by the hand. After setting him on the couch, I looked in the door jam. It was the Queen. I let her in. "I guess Carlos was right. Vampires everywhere do know my face."
The Queen chuckled. "Not all vampires know you." She sat down at the table. "I heard from Silver that you've accepted my offer. You already took care of some old business, so what residence would you rather be if not in the same place I live?"
I took a breath. "I rather stay here and be King, rather than live with you and be seen. I know that I should be seen by the other vampires so they wouldn't mess with me, but I feel more at peace where I am now. Also, I want to keep Allan with me, for he's my first slave."
The Queen nodded. "That's understandable. Since you're the first known vampire to still have mortal emotions, it's difficult to leave your comfort zone."

Allan

There's a knock and he breaks the kiss, leaving me frozen in place and flashing a smile with my eyes closed. He takes my hand and leads me to the living room, setting me on the couch before answering the door. The Queen walks in and sits at the table, speaking with him about his living arrangements. She allows him to stay here and to keep me, which I'm overly pleased with. I look down, avoiding her gaze out of submission.

Fidelis

I stood up against the wall. "However, I am a little...concerned about the Bloodlust Twins."
The Queen raised a brow. "What is it?"
I recalled the story of how I saved Celeste, not missing a beat. "And it was because I didn't want the Bloodlust Twins to kill her baby."
The Queen sighed. "I should've known. Those two always were the troublesome vampires of the world. Killing babies when they were newly born. That's just not right. If there was anyone who could set an example of wrong feeding, it'd be them." She looked at me. "You never killed an innocent mortal in your lifetime, have you?"
I shook my head. "Not one drop of innocent blood ever touched my tongue before I found Allan. I knew better than to hurt those who did nothing wrong. Celeste did nothing wrong and neither did her baby. My act of humanity saved not just the baby, but also many descendants after the little one. The current descendant of Celeste is Allan."
The Queen smiled. "Then his family owes you their lives, whether they know it or not." She got up and headed to the door. "From now on, the world is your kingdom. The Council has announced you as the vampire King, so no vampire will ever come near you nor disobey your command. As King, you can have more than just one slave, regardless of gender. Knowing you, female slaves would be a problem since you don't drink the blood of women." She left without another word.
I almost felt privledged. As King, I was allowed more slaves. However, I didn't want more. Allan was plenty enough for me.

Allan

The Queen leaves after informing Fidelis he could take on more slaves and I can't help but feel a little jealous at the thought. From the kiss and the conversation with my parents, I get the feeling he won't choose to do so, but he had been completely unexpected when wanting to speak with them. I sigh and look up at him.

Fidelis

I met Allan's gaze. Having more than him as a slave since I was now the vampire King did seem like fun, but I didn't want more. I was fine with just Allan. I went to him and took his hand. "I know you heard all that, but don't think I'll take more than what I have. I'm very much happy with you and just you than with others. You're this century's mortal with special blood, which makes you irreplacable. I don't want to wait a century for a replacement if I lose you. I'll always feel at peace when I'm with you. Without you, this apartment isn't home. Here, I'm home with you." I lifted him, held him in my arms, and lost us in the act of kissing, holding him close as I ran my fingers through his hair.

Allan

I smile at him before he kisses me and can't wipe the smirk off my face as he does. He holds me and tangles his fingers in my hair, losing himself. I kiss back and lose myself, allowing him to do whatever he wanted with his hands in my hair.

Fidelis

I held him close as I kissed his lips, lost in the sweet surrender that lingered from the taste of his blood on my tongue. As lovingly as ever, I held him as I sat down on the couch with him on my lap, my fingers still lost in his hair. I broke the kiss gently and just held him in my arms. "I know I swore to you that I wouldn't let you go or leave you, so I intend to keep true to that vow. Even as the vampire King, I'll never leave you or set your free. By the gods, I would go through ten thousand more battles for you and still keep you as my own." I set his head on my shoulder. "Even as King, our relationship will never change."
