Hey, can I join?

Name: Yin (female) and Yang (male)

Age: They've been around for timeless ages. But their mental copasaty and appearance suggest that they're around 15.

Gender: Male and Female twins

Appearance: Yin has straight, white hair and laughing grey eyes. While her twin brother, Yang has black hair and heartless grey eyes that look like a bottomless abbyss.
Spoiler
Image
Image

Personality: Yin: is the cheery half of the twins. She loves to help others and she's always bubbly and friendly. She's excited about everything and fears almost nothing. But she does have her moments, because, remember, Yin has a small part of black. Random fact: Yin is a Christian.
Yang: is normally dark, gloomy, and emotionless. He gets introuble and has no respect for anyone (except his sister). And he has a nack for making enemies quickly. But if you work really hard, you might be able to crack open some of the ice around his heart and reach passion. But it's very rare, and the only person who's been able to do that so far is Yin.
Random fact: Yang smokes.
Together: Yin and Yang are practiacally joined at the hip. They do everything together, and they finish eachother's sentences a lot and can normally tell what the other is feeling.
Random fact: Yin is kind of like the leader of the two. She tries to keep Yang out of trouble and always has to watch him and make sure he doesn't do anything to stupid.

Power: Nothing really, except that Yin can influencing people to do good, whereas Yang influences people to do bad. They're also eternally youthful, so they've been around forever. They're kind of immortal, unless they die in a battle, which is very possible. So I suppose you could kind of say that they're like minor gods, like the gods of Yin and Yang.
But even though they've been around for hundreds of years, they're not super wise or anything, they still have the mental compasity of a fifteen-year-old. They haven't gained much knowledge in their long life, just lots of memories.

Strength: Yin's certain strength is in art and music. She's an amazing artist and can sculpt, paint, and draw in many styles and to many different degrees. And she can play nearly all instruments fluidly. Yin is also good at caring for and healing people.
On the other hand, Yang's talents center around strength and agressiveness. He plays extremely well in every sport and is good at any kind of fighting, from fist fighting to sword fighting.

Weakness: Yin gets too attatched to people and she isn't really physically strong. Yang's problem is that he is constantly getting into trouble, everybody hates him (therefore he's normally on his own), he's a bad teammate, and he lets his anger control him instead of thinking things through.

Other: Both are up for love, although Yang will (obviously) be harder to get to.

Dragonette - yes, you can join. I have one other person that PM'd me to join but after that no more characters please! Unless you are the two who still haven't posted! Reminder: WE START TOMORROW unless we get the three characters expected before that.

I know it's a few hours early, but it doesn't look like the three will meet the deadline. The person who PM'd me will be allowed to hop in tomorrow but the other two, who have had a whole week to post their characters, are too late.
On a lighter note, we can start now! Feel free to get the ball rolling. Just remember that the beginning DOES take place in Nowhere and it is sometime BEFORE they come across the rumors. If you need a refresher on the plot, check out the DT for the storybook. If you have any other questions, shoot me a PM or post it on there. Most importantly, HAVE FUN WITH IT! :D

All right. I know this is super late, but here's my character bio. This is my first time ever, so I hope it's ok.
Name: Adrian Lorcan
Age: 15
Appearance: Adrian is around the average height for a 15 year old and has black-gray(ash colored) hair that is fairly short. His eyes are a faded olive green color. And if you manage to catch him smiling, you can see his slightly crooked teeth. Adrian usually wears comfortable clothes- a plain colored t-shirt(usually red, blue, brown, or black), jeans, and his ratty tennis shoes(about 1 1/2 years old) that he hasn't outgrown yet (If it's cold outside, he might add a hoodie to his ensemble but that's about it)
Personality: Adrian is a mischievious person(easy to tell by the wicked gleam his eyes usually have) He tends to "borrow" things without asking and pops up out of nowhere to enter a conversation. (which scares and surprises people on some occasions) He goes on random excursions outdoors because he likes to explore and discover new things which causes him to stumble on important information and secrets ever so often.
Power: Adrian can raise the dead(well actually he reanimates the corpses or bones of dead animals and people) He usually plays with small animal bones(like shrews, mice) which also tends to creep some people out. He can also speak with the spirits of the dead which can give him valuable information(when the spirits are feeling particularly generous or helpful-which isn't very often but it also depends on the spirit) Also even when the bones are not reanimated, they can be used as weapons (You try getting hit with a femur or stabbed with a rib and see how you like it!) - (also necromancer, bone magician)
Strengths: Great at finding anything (including other people's belongings because he is usually the one who moved them in the first place), creative, explorer extraordinaire, loyal to friends(he is always willing to help them)
Weaknesses: Acts without thinking, "borrows" things without asking(slightly annoying to other people), although he is willing to help his friends, he usually wanders off on his own(which causes him to usually get into trouble)
"Mad, adj. Affected with a high degree of intellectual independence" -Ambrose Bierce

*eiflow6547 - it's fine. You got it in just in time. :)*

Ryan Rudio

The refreshing wind gently wafted against the skin of Ryan's face, causing his cheeks to redden a rosy color and his nose to follow suit. His eyes were closed and his mind was blank, solely listening to the whines of the cold mountain air and to the steady beating of his own heart. He loved this solitude, this silence.
"Ryan!" Someone excitedly called from far away.
His eyes snapped open but he remained still for one more second before looking down. Everything below was ant-sized to him, rushing around as if there were important things to do, but he was able to make out one group of figures just fine with his dragon eyes. His friends.
Letting out a sigh, he tensed the muscles in his legs and lower back as he pulled himself up. I wonder what it is this time... The dots below watched closely, as if they were afraid he'd fall. Just to tease them, he lifted one leg past the edge. Some of the freaked out, others remained calm. Ryan laughed before easing their fright and stepping back onto solid ground.
As he walked around the bend, he was tempted to shift and soar into the brittle air like his instincts screamed. With a smile across his face, he leaped off the cliff out of view of his friends. Red scales covered his body and a snout popped out from where his nose was. His no longer human self dipped towards the ground and his cherished wind whipped against his amour-plated skin. Once he was close enough to smell the grass below him, he let his scarlet wings out behind him like parachutes. The air pulled him sharply upwards and set his four paws on the soft dirt.
He quickly shifted back and turned around, making sure no one had seen him. The coast was clear so he continued walking to his friends, slipping into the depression he always did when he used that much power. If they only knew...

(Ben - Nowhere)

This was the day.

I didn't care that everyone said it was impossible, I didn't care that it was my millionth time trying, today I was going to do it.

I was going to escape

I floated on the western-most side of the valley, my eyes locked on the opposite ridge of mountains. I was as far up as I could go without involuntarily wisping-out, and my eyes fell on the lowest point in the mountain strip. My own thrust, plus gravity, was almost Mach 1, and I reckoned it would take me under two seconds to cross the valley. Good thing I can maintain that speed for fifteen.

I inclined forwards, so that I resembled a missile set for just over the ridge. That is, if missiles were glowing electric mannequins. I didn't need to, but I tried to inhale like they do in movies before leaping into action. A weird buzz of static issued from my head, and then I was off.

It lasted barely anytime, I flew faster than I ever thought I could. The people below in Nowhere would only catch my sonic boom as I broke Mach 1 by miles. My hands crossed over the mountain rocks only a few milliseconds later, and I hardened my resolve to it's upmost limit.

I still failed.

My body collapsed into oblivion, like a water balloon thrown against a wall, except that it exploded into white fire instead of liquid.

For a while the air was still, trying to recover from most of it being burned from my passage, then in a second explosion I reformed inches from the invisible wall of the mountain ridge. I groaned and turned in defeat, catching the glint of red scales against the sun.

I decded to go find the cause, which was presumably my friend Ryan. It wasn't long till I was above him, and I let loose a small message into his head.

Sup.

*Random Fact: Renn's father gave him the angelic name Rariel, and anyone he knows it can hold power over Renn. Thus he guards it vociferously and it will take quite a bit to get him to trust you with it.*

Renn:

Renn stalked down the trail, his black wings trailing behind him. The wing tips swept the ground picking up bits of dust as he went, but Renn couldn't be bothered to lift them. He'd been stuck in this aptly named flyspeck of a town since he was eleven years old and after seven years Renn was starting to lose it.

He'd done anything and everything this town had to offer. At first everyone who ended up in Nowhere seemed to want to escape. But over time they settled into the small town and started to build a life. Renn's drive for freedom had never faded though. He and his friends were hell bent on getting out of this place.

As he rounded the cliff, Renn caught a flash of red scales and grinned. His father had told him stories of dragons when he was little. They were one of the few species angels considered their equals. How they often warred with and against angels, and he personally found it hilarious that one of his best friends was one.

But that wasn't important. Renn needed to tell the others about what he had found. Every day Renn circled the valley in the early morning light, desperately searching for some flaw in the mountains that could be exploited, he would often pass Ben as the other boy threw himself repeatedly against the mountains. Todays patrol had been routine, until Renn had spotted the tiny black camera embedded in the rock face.

Renn being Renn he had ripped the camera out and brought it to show the others. His head spun with questions at the discovery, mainly. What the hell was a working surveillance camera doing in a mountain cliff? Operating with no apperant power source to boot?

Yin and Yang

Yin bent over and picked up a lovely blue flower that was growing along the side of the road and placed it in her snowy-white hair. "How do I look?" She asked her twin brother who was walking beside her.

Yang didn't even look up. "Great," he said in a monotone voice as he kicked a peble along the path.

Yin smiled and raised her face to the sun as if soaking in it's warmth. What another beautiful day it is today in Nowhere, she thought. Suddenly, something caught her eye. One of her friends, Ryan, was sitting on top of a cliff! "Oh my gosh, Ryan!" she called out. He seemed to have heard her and stood up and waved. And then it seemed as though his foot slipped and Yin gave a worried yelp. But he easily stepped back onto solid ground and Yin got the impression that he was just messing with her. She smiled and shook her head.

"Wouldn't that be hilarious if he fell?" Yang mumbled quietly with a corner of his mouth tweeked just a bit in a twisted smile.

Just then someone rushed past them and accidentally bumped shoulders with Yang. As usual, Yang's temper flared, "Watch it, freak!" Yang shoved the other person hard in the chest.

Quickly, Yin stepped in between the two before a fight could break out. She held up her hands as if stopping to dogs. "Sorry," she said to the person, who had a surprised and slightly angry look on their face. Then she turned to her brother, whose dark eyes were glaring at the person, "Yang, knock it off." He didn't seem to acknowledge her, but at least he didn't make a move to continue the fight.

Raina

Raina hurried herself in the bathroom trying to put on her make-up but not be late. She grabbed her eyeliner and ran out the door. She could tell something had changed from the way the atmosphere felt to her. She ran as fast as she could to the usual meeting place but was distracted by the sonic boom left by Ben, and was knocked of course and into a stone hard body. She could hear two voices speaking but didn't bother to stop. All she knew was that she had lost her eyeliner in the process and most likely had a long black mark going across her face. She could hear then discussing it behind her. "Chill Yang it's Raina. You know she can't see. Don't be so harsh on her." She heard Yin explaining. " Like if I give a crap who the heck it was! If she's stupid enough to go running through town then she's can face the consequences." Yelled Yang. "Just be nice okay?" Asked Yang. Raina slowed her stride but still managed to bump into someone. But this time they didn't let her go.

Kai

Raina ran right into me, and when she did I held onto her - she was just the person I'd been looking for.

Taking her hand, I placed in against my face to show her it was just me, and I said, "Hey Raina, you wouldn't happen to know when the next full moon is, would you? I kind of lost track."

I was constantly doing this - losing track of time, I mean. It was the elf in me - I get lost in the beauty and splendor of the world, and I loose track of time. You can imagine my surprise when the next night I turn into a werewolf when it seems like it'd happened just yesterday.

*I know it's short*

Jewel

Staring into the pool of water, I saw a lion staring back at me - myself staring back. Blinking tiredly, I stepped on my reflection and began to drink.

When I lifted my head, Renn caught my eye - he had something in his hands...what is that?

Staring for a moment, I realized it was a ....camera? What is a camera doing here?

The sphinx within me told me we were being watched - that would be the only real reason, right? Well....maybe it could be something else?

Transforming back into my human appearance, I waded out of the water and ran over to Renn.

"Whatchya got there? A video camera?"

Glacies Ventus

Terrific I thought people in the forest, wait he realized the gang had called a meeting. I had completely forgotten. I got off my rock in the middle of my secret glade where I was taking a nap in the green light shimmering through the trees.
I began to make a bird call for a falcon, I would need to borrow his wings. A falcon landed on my outstretched arm and I began to study every aspect of it. I could shape shift into any animal but I always felt more comfortable studying it and making a gradual change. I could feel my shape begin to change and feathers begin to cover my body.

I looked at the falcon now standing next to me on the rock. I would normally call it something else but when I was a bird standing made sense. "I opened my beak to speak with him hello feathered friend thank you for letting me borrow your shape."

The falcon looked at me, "You are Sky Friend it would be against my people's beliefs to do anything but help you."

"Sky Friend birds always call me that but have never explained why."

"You are not a true Feathered One but you can take our shape so we call you Sky Friend. Few have this title it is an honor."

"Thank you I had been wondering my feathered friend. But, I have been speaking with you for too long I must be off. One day I shall live among the Feathered Ones and learn your ways but today is not that day."

I flew off loving the feeling of the wind beneath my wings and the sun shining upon them. As I flew I could see Jewel and Renn at the sea shore, I had to learn how to see with the sharpness of a falcon without taking it's form one day. I noticed Renn appeared to be holding something interesting. I flew down landing on his sholder and perched there for a moment before seeing what it was he held, a camera. "Renn spying on people? For shame Renn for shame." I let out a laugh it sounded weird coming from a bird. "But seriously Renn where did you find this."

Renn:

He supressed the urge to stick his tounge out at Glacies, for one thing it was childish. For another it was ridiculous when he was an animal. He opened his hand to show the two of them the smooth black camera he held, here and there a wire poke out where it had snapped when Renn had yanked the thing from it's mooring.

"I found this embedded in one of the cliff walls. And it was working."

Jewel poked the camera and then looked up at him with those knowing eyes of hers. "You do not speak of the valley cliffs." She made it a statement not a question, as if she already knew the answer.

"No, I found it in one of the mountain cliffs. And where there's one you can bet there are more." He whispered, keeping a low voice. The others suddenly glanced around warily.

Ryan

Ryan made his way to Yin and Yang, since they had been the ones to wake him from his thought trance, and found Raina and Kai there too.
"You summoned me." He said, emotionless.
Everyone but Raina turned to him; she just flashed a friendly smile. He noticed just how peeved Yang appeared and looked to Yin for an answer.
"It's nothing." She said.
Ryan wasn't sure about that but shrugged it off. He didn't want to get involved.
"Why don't we go find the others?" He suggested.
He turned around, knowing they were thinking the same thing, and led them to where Jewel would more than likely be. Stepping through the forest, he glanced back to make sure someone was helping Raina, not that she needed it. He was just a bit protective over all of them.
They came to the opening and saw Renn standing before her with something in his hands. The two looked paranoid as they glanced at the quintet approaching.
"What's up?" Ryan asked.
He saw the falcon and suppressed a smile. Glacies. I hate to admit it, but he dose look absurd as a bird. Then Ryan saw the camera.

-Ben-

I quickly realized that I had screwed up whose brain I had been trying to reach, instead sending my "sup" to an innocent grasshopper by Ryan's feet. I had been floating with the sun in my back, so he probably didn't notice me at all.

Instead, Ryan had crossed over to a group of our friends, I recognized the black and white hair of Yin and Yang and Kai who was helping Raina out. They had made they're way to the glade Jewel liked to hang out in, where she and Renn were bent over something electronic. It peeked my interest, so I floated over, arriving shortly after Ryan did. As I came closer, I noticed the ridiculous falcon-form of Glacies and tried to laugh like a human did. It sounded like a power-line falling into a puddle.

When I was a good 30 feet above them, I made sure no one was standing near the west corner, than dive-bombed down and hit the ground in the classic "fist on ground, hand on knee" pose superhero's made when they hit the ground. I scared the crap out of everyone, Yin gave a little help and Kai straight out screamed. I projected an alien voice into each of their heads and said I come in peace. Take me to your leader

"C'mon Ben; your'e burning the grass" Jewel was obviously a little miffed about me scorching her hangout, so I complied and rose a few feet in the ground.

It's colateral damage I projected in that monotone drawl government agents are infamous for. Anyway, I'm just a little bored and came to see whatever Renn has, it looks interesting

"I was wondering the same thing, is it somesort of camera?" Ryan asked.

"Sort of, I found it over on the mountain cliffs" He gestured to the south-eastern fringe. "And I'm guessing theres more"

So you want me to go find them? I don't mean to toot my own horn here, but I'm obviously the fastest one here

Renn shrugged. "I'm pretty fast as well"

Lemme know when you break the sound barrier, then we can talk. For now, how about those of us with flight go search around some more, don't worry I'll leave some for you guys to find as a special treat, and the rest of us go find the rest of the gang and we meet back here in an hour to discuss. Sound good?
