It depends on the reader but I have all 12 books from the Saga/Cirque du Freak series.
Read that series three times now.
The Demonata I'm rather disappointed but perhaps I had my expectations set too high. Still, there are some good points in it, which is why I haven't dropped the series altogether. I don't think I'll invest in the 10 book set though.
I'm reading the Subtle Knife (sequel to Golden Compass). It's very good.

I read The Dark Is Rising because I wanted to see the movie, but since it's the second in the series, I decided to go back and read the first. I'm not sure I'll read the third. They're not bad, but they aren't doing it for me. I would have liked them better when I was younger, I think.
Well, I'm reading three books at present - Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by JK Rowling, and Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. The first I'm reading for the first time, and it's pretty good so far - have only read a few pages. The second is the first time I've read a Harry Potter since I finished Deathly Hallows - that was a very long mourning period XD. The last I'm taking in my stride - seriously, it's HUGE! So I'm just reading it in bits and bobs whenever I can face it!
There's always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it's not so much that I want to kill her, it's just, I want her to not be alive anymore.
Still haven't finished "Crime and Punishment", and I'm re-reading "A Vision of Light" by Judith Merkle Riley for the....sixth time this year, since I've been introduced to it? XD Anyway, marvelous book. REEEEEEAD EET. XD
I'm reading [i]Jane Eyre[/i] by Charlotte Bronte and liking it, though I haven't had time to get very far.
I read the [i]The Golden Compass[/i] ages ago, so to refresh my memory for the movie, I'm also listening to this great audio book of Pullman reading it, with british actors doing all the character's voices. Awesome book.
I really hope they do a good job on the movie! Nicole Kidman is pretty much exactly how I envision Ms. Coulter. ^_^ Anyone else excited for it?

I'm really excited for The Golden Compass movie. I'm worried, and excited. I'll probably read it closer to the release date, since I reread the entire series in May/June.
