Hehehe... I feel like such a feminist.

Where's the women?

Because I don't trust guys with female characters, I'll make my own up. Grif, we'll be talking, but I assure you that my character will not be god-moding. And besides... she will have plenty of weaknesses to combat the strengths she has. You know me better than that. ;)

Solea

Sex: FEMALE! :D :D :D

Age: 17

Birthplace: the capital of the continent they're in now...

Race: Human

Eye Color: Gray Blue

Height: 5 feet (she's short, lol)

Occupation: Priestess of the Five Moons

Class Type: Priestess

Appearance:

Her hair is long, dark brown, and curly, with just a hint of red. Slim and very delicate. Her hands are soft... she hasn't worked much. Her skin is a powdery white, with just a touch of red in the cheeks. She doesn't smile much, but tends to stare with a very fierce gaze that would match even the gryphons's!

Clothing: Long, beautiful dresses, usually by the lightest fabrics available and embroidered with small, delicate patterns of flowers. The colors are typically a light blue or white.

Weapon(s): She's an archer.

Spells: She is a prophet and can predict the future. She also can make things seem as they aren't.

Special Skills: Horseback riding. She can also talk to the five moons, though they give her rather conflicting information and disagree with her continually. Oh! And she can talk to unicorns and stuff. :)

Natural Abilities: nightvision

Brief History:

Since she was only a infant, she was taken away from her parents (she still doesn't know who they are) and has been raised up to be a priestess, due to the last priestess's death (by natural causes, I assure you). A seer in the company of the Priest of the Sun foresaw her as the rightful replacement, and so she was put in the place immediately, as a baby. She was brought up by five handmaidens in the Palace of the Moons and has learned to be quite a powerful prophet. She also has learned classic literature, math, several dozens of languages and more, though completely ignorant of what is on the outside. The only connection she does have with the outside is the Priest of the Sun.

This man, named Alazamar, is the only man she has ever met, and she sees him as a fatherly figure. He is a powerful man also and has taught her much of her magic. He himself is a very powerful fire mage, though he assures her he never uses any of his powers lightly, as he is sure that it would offend the God of Light, who is the God higher than all others. Anyway, she loves him very much. He has done her many kind things and also continues to protect her by hiding the palace of the moons away from anyone who desires to seek it.

So, she stays in her palace, predicting and foreseeing anything that has come or will come to pass.

Alignment: Whereever Alazamar is, she is also.
Ubi caritas est vera, Deus ibi est.

~Thaden Ma'lar~

My eyes opened for some strange reason. The battle had ended, but a new sound drew near. I leaned my head up. The sound was of flapping. A couple seconds later, a gryphon landed and walked towards me.
"Sira?" I asked.
"Stay still," she commanded, moving my wings. I winced in pain. She clicked her beak in disapproval.
"Thaden Ma'lar, explain yourself."
"I was being attacked by a Njinn. So I initiated a crash landing."
"You stupid idiot. The only thing a crash landing does is keep you from getting killed. Keeper! Your feathers are a mess!"
"You, get some water," she ordered Alex. She stopped when she saw Seraph. She went over to examine him. Valin was about to give him a herb.
"Don't bother. He's just unconcious. Let him sleep it off. I think this could help Thaden though." Before I knew what was happening, Sira had shoved the plant down my throat.
"Don't struggle, just swallow." She clamped my beak shut until I swallowed.
"What the heck was that?!"
"Extromene. It's real good for you."
"It tastes horrible!"
"That's why it's good for you."
"Can I have some water?"
"Not yet. It is a powerful poision with water. You should know that."
"I thought you were dead."
"That's funny, you seem more dead than I am." She walked behind me and started massaging my back.
"So, what are you doing here with these people and why do you think I'm dead?" I started to tell her the story. The massage was so good. I finished just in time to scream. Pain shot through my entire body for a couple of seconds.
"There. Good as new," she said.
"That hurt!"
"You deserved it for doing stupid stunts. Thanks for the story, that helped put me into a trance. Your story got really boring after the packages."

Haha, Snoink, I was gonna be a female character, but somehow I didn't like the idea of a female frog-person, so....

Anyway:
Croak checked the Djinn to make sure none of them were still alive, then walked over to Seraph and picked him up gingerly.

"Sorry, big guy," Croak said, then chuckled at the irony of his own words. Seeing that everyone else was safe, he headed back to the tavern to let Seraph rest. He smiled as all of the people screamed when he came in, and glared at the men getting up to attack him.

"Don' worry," ("It talks!" "Oh, my...") "I'm jus' tryin' ta fin' a place where my frien' can recover." The innkeeper raised an eyebrow, then, seeing that there was no way this bog monster would be able to talk if it was ordinary, pointed to a bench.

"He can lay there for now; if you want to pay for a room, he can stay in a bed." Croak laughed to himself. There probably weren't as many beds left as there were before. Croak shrugged, and carefully laid Seraph on the bed. Then, touching something on his neck, he shrunk down and was once again the little frog-man that he had been before.

"Thanks," Croak said as he walked out to see how the others were doing, back into the clearing.

Most of the people at the inn had gone to sleep when we arrived. I, for my part, tried to stay quiet. The innkeeper was rather grumpy, not unusual for the hour we were up.

"I think it's time we got some sleep. It's going to be a big day tomorrow."
"Where exactly are we going?" Sira asked.
"We haven't exactly figured that out."
"So, you are planning on doing something, but you don't know what."
"You're misunderstanding me."
"Really? I'm getting the distinct impression that no one here has a clue what they're going to do next. You have no leads on where to go next."
"I thought you didn't listen to the story."
"And you thought I had been captured by some stupid idiot."
"Touche. I suppose you have a big idea what we should do next."
"It happens that I do. Have you heard of the High Priest of the Sun God? He has the power of vision, perhaps he can see our enemy and show him to us."
"Sounds good to me." I looked at the others, hoping for some contradiction. She had a nasty habit of being right though.

I agreed and stood their "Well not a good idea of rushing into plans, it's a miracle this Griffin survived, but i have a feeling they let her live, because this guy is smart he would know how many troops you needed to take down a griffin."

I stood their looking about When someone answered.

"Live a little, Alexanta. For a champion of good, you sure are a coward."

Seraph's pain filled voice came from behind the paladin. The half-elf turned to regard Seraph, who stood in the doorway to the room he had been placed in. He leaned heavily on the door frame, and a sickly tone had taken to his skin.

"Something is amiss, my friends. Chaos is taking root, shifting the balance of power. I cannot help but wonder if perhaps this new nemesis has something to do with it. If my father has been defeated, then Law is without a champion, without an avatar. I am not yet strong enough to bear that burden...and until someone steps up to that position, I fear things will only get worse. We must either seek out and destroy the Avatar of Chaos, or restore the Avatar of Law...I don't know how, but it seems to me that an unbelievable power must be behind this...it would take no less to defeat my father, even if out foe marched upon the keep at the head of an army...my father could have held that castle for months by himself; he had a contingent of vampires--Lawguards--at his side. The force behind this must be incredible."

Seraph looks down at his arm where he was struck by the flaming arrow. He had torn away the sleeve and removed his armor on that arm, revealing black, seemingly random symbols burned into his skin. Many were parts of words, or portions of elvish script, or half formed dwarven characters, while others were misshapen pictographs or warped hieroglyphs.

"Chaos," he says to the others, "is taking root. This...atrocity was burned into my arm simply for healing your friend, Croak. By allowing a follower of chaos to walk free, by helping him to cause more chaos...I have become branded by it."

He turns to the gryphons.

"Whatever we are going to do, I think we had better do it...with haste."

Croak sighed. "I think ya need to get your priorities straight. Y'know, sometimes what's right ain't what the law think is right. An' sometimes it's the law that forces us to be chaotic and pass under it in order to survive. Dan may not follow the law, but he's the one that got the mos' injustice, an' it's all because o' your stinkin' law! The gov'ment don't care a bit about us orphans who have been shunned for no good reason. If it wa'n't for the law, we woulda never been thieves or nothin'!"

"Okay look, I can explain why I'm such a coward. Even when I was accepted with Elves, they still did anything they could to make me feel out of place, so I learned to become wary," explained Alex, "but I better start being braver, so I'll agree," replied Alex grudgingly.

Seraph looked at the diminutive frogman, and smirked.

"My Law is not man's law, Croak. I follow the law of Falthyr. I serve justice and retribution, not good and evil, nor what is legal or not. Even evil actions can be just, when placed in the right context. More often than not, evil is unjust. More often than not, good is just. But there are always exceptions to these rules. By all appearances, your friend Dan maybe be justified. Perhaps from what you've seen, he was justified. I'm telling you that Daniel is not what he appears to be. He is in this position by choice, now. He lives for the thrill of causing trouble, and living life on the edge and at the tip of a blade. You only know what you see. I know what my deity tells me."

He holds up his arm and stands up to his full height.

"These burns are evidence enough for me. If our paths cross again, in a different time and place, Dan will feel my balde."
Got YWS? I do.

Croak blanched. Could this be true? Could Dan really just be another lowlife thief like all the others he so vehemently renounced? Dan had always told Croak that he and the others only worked under the law because they had been unjustly dealt with by the government in the past, thus barring a regular life. That was why Croak had become a thief, after all--no one would want someone as hideous as he under their care, and monsters, which most perceived him to be, were rarely trusted for honest jobs. Stealing and trickery were his only means of survival.

He supposed that it could easily be true. Dan never talked in detail about his past or how he became a thief, and he was often gone doing things that no one knew about. Croak never supposed Dan to be the chaotic sort by choice, but it would make sense. Sop and Spud were chaotic by choice, but they were still relatively honest and open about what they did, and Croak knew that their lives had developed similarly to his. They only caused trouble to keep their minds off of the terrors that any descendant of a demon experiences, not to mention that it was in their tainted blood. Dan, on the other hand, had no clear reason to be a thief or to cause trouble. He said that he had been wronged in the past, but he never explained why.

"Well," he spoke to Seraph, "if what you say's true, then I'm sorry fer gettin' mad. I've had enough experiences with injustice to want nothin' ta do with those who fight against true justice." He smiled, hoping Seraph wouldn't get mad at him or think that he was just as bad as Dan.

driznadren stood off to the side, leaning against the wall in the shadows, stroking firerunner behind the ears. "hmm.. what do you think of our new companions firerunner" driznardren questioned him telepathically
"it seems they have lost things dear to them, and are going to hunt them down" he answered
"thats interesting.... you want to tag along for the fun" driznardren said a smile forming on my lips
"its been a while since we've had any fun or fighting" firerunner said thoughtfully; "sure why not" he replied.

Driznardren, walked out of the shadows aproaching the group. "hey, you think it would be fine if firerunner and i could tag along, for the ride. we could be...... usefull"

"You, Croak....I'll have to explain your case to you someti--" Seraph's sentence was cut short as he immediately drew steel aginst the newcomer.

"You're not welcome here, Drow." he said, brandishing his blade and pushing Croak out of the way. His eyes narrowed and his blade flared as his eyes shifted from hellhound to drow elf nervously.

Croak nearly laughed at the absurdity of the situation. Since when do drow randomly walk up and ask to join a group? Of course, drow were known as a force to be reckoned with, so Croak willingly stepped aside and let Seraph deal with the situtation.
