LAKISHA

I closed my door quietly behind me and turned to stare at the little holes I had made in it. All a desperate attempt at figuring out what was happening. I couldn't supress a grin; I had really done it this time. I didn't imagine that the men with the guns would be overly thrilled to see their unconscious co-worker beside my bedroom door, gun gone.

I sighed and put Claw on my bed. It was quite pretty actually--the bed. Nice canopy, cherry wood, a nice old-fashioned red and gold quilt. A place fit for a queen. Except for I was no queen and this was no palace. I was a prisoner and this stupid building was my dungeon, my room was my cell.

I sighed and pulled out my pen and paper and began to describe Adam and Cain in excrutiating detail. I also made note of Cain's ridiculous reactions to our questions. I finished quickly and flopped into my pillow, burying my face inside of it. I was surprised when sleep actually did come.

Kalayan

I awoke the next morning, stunned that we had survived the night without a peep. I got dressed as quickly as I could and hurried out into the common room.

No one else was awake. No wonder- it was really, really early in the morning. There was breakfast only at a table near my door, and I shuddered to think that they had been spying and knew that I was waking up earliest. Creepy thought, Kalayan, just shut up and eat, I said to myself.

((((overposting again... sorry)))))

LAKISHA

I groaned and rolled over. My shoulders were both tense, I had been sleeping in the most awkward of positions. I smiled when I noticed Gash coiled around the bedpost, staring at me. "Good morning ma dear," I muttered, stretching. He slithered over to me as I was flinging my legs over the side of the bed.

I pulled my hood over my head as far as I could possibly make it and opened my door a crack, peering outside. The unconsious body was gone and in its place was a rather gruff looking man. He turned his head to the sound. "You..." he hissed.

I opened the door all the way and leaned against the doorframe. "Me..." I mocked, smirking.

He glared at me. "Wipe that look off your face! You are in serious trouble!"

My grin broadened, though I won't lie. I was actually getting quite worried. These men were capable. Besides, their guns against my daggar...bad mix. I stroked Gash, trying to remind the man of the snake's loyalty.

"I am going to have to ask you to hand over your daggar." He held out his hand and waggled his fingers.

"Oh but of course, anything for my captors." I pulled the daggar out of my pocket, bringing it down so that it was a single milimetre from his hand. I glanced at his panicked expression and my grin still broadened. I let him off the hook and set it down gently on its side. "Well?" I tapped my foot.

He raised a small gun and pressed it against my temple. I tensed up, frowning. "Don't try anything funny. It will only end badly for you," he grumbled, shoving me down the hallway. This hadn't been the same direction they had taken Cain...where were we going?

"Shove me again and I swear you won't live until tomorrow," I hissed.

"Oh really?" He shoved me again, harder this time and I fell against the wall. A throbbing pain worked its way down my arm and I squealed.

He walked back up to me and pressed the gun back against my head. I yelped, hoping somebody would hear.

Kalayan

I stiffened. I heard the sound of Lakisha's scream. I quickly ran out of the room. "Lakisha!" I called. Silence.

I ran down the hallways and then realized I was lost. "Lakisha!" I yelled again.

((((((((((Couldn't resist another overpost xD ))))))))))))))

LAKISHA

I heard Kalayn yell my name and I opened my mouth. The guard jerked my shoulder. "Don't you dare," he hissed.

Okay, so I had done some pretty stupid stuff since my arrival, but this was just inane. I was being held at gunpoint and being stolen away, taken to my doom. A damsel in distress, so where was my knight?

I chuckled. This girl didn't need no knight in shining armor. Of course it would be terribly romantic, but that was besides the poin. I was obviously undesirable to most.

"Do me a favor and get rid of that snake. He creeps me out."

I sighed. So much for my guardian angel that was perched on my shoulder. He had been succesful that one day... "Claw, please go back," I whispered, trying to hide my fear. I didn't know if I was succesful of not. I smiled when the snake obeyed. Better than any dog could ever be, I swear. He hesitated and looked back at me. I nodded and he kept on his way.

The guard shoved me forwards again and I stumbled forwards, trying to avoid the gun. I got away from it for a moment and took the oppertunity to screach. The gun fired and I winced, glancing at the hole in the wall above my head. Close call...

The guard pulled me up by the arm and placed the barrel back to my head. This just wasn't my day was it? "You dare do that one more time and I swear..."

"Swear what? You'll shoot me? Can you really afford to do that?" I smirked at him.

He smirked back and patted my cheek. "Yes, as a matter of fact I can afford that."

It took every ounce of self control for me not to bite his hand.

Cain

In a room with the Eli girl. My body, surprisingly, did not resist when she put me in and closed the door behind us. She gave me a searching look then plopped down on the bed.

"So, what did they do with you?"

"They cured me, my dear."

Eli's mouth curled up, more in disgust than horror. "Sure. Whatever, Cain. I'm going to bed. And don't you dare try anything funny." She looked pointedly at her animals.

"Of course not, I wouldn't be so unkind." Oh, why in the world was I sounding like a granny? Eli clapped her hands over her ears and closed her eyes.

And my body would not let me fall asleep. In the dark room, on top of the couch, I watched the slanted blue light from the window fall into the room, splaying and splashing across the different corners of the surprisingly well furnished room. I heard Eli's breathing level off and smooth into a steady rhythm. And then my body got up. It stepped closer to the body of the sleeping girl. Sabe growled. My body stopped, my outreached hand in the middle of the air above her neck. Sabe growled again. My body took a step back.

I had no idea what I was doing. Please, please. Let me be in control again.
The wittiest thing is the simple truth.

*Since there are only a few of us really posting, would it be alright to have more than one power? Just wondering!:D**

Eli ~

Eli rolled over, dreaming. She whimpered softly, and then let out a small cry, feeling the pain of her attack many years ago. Tears sprung from her eyes as the picture of the two hundred pound lion lunged at her, his image soon dissapating. "Eli." A voice growled, Eli spinning around swiftly. Sabe's brother, Core standing before her, much like the night he attacked. "Eli, you have to wake up! Lakisha's in danger, Kalayan's lost, and that boy, Cain, he's not right in the head. Eli! WAKE UP!" Core snarled, lunging. That brought Eli flying out of bed, screaming in terror. Her bright blue eyes were wide, as she gazed around the room, seeing Crim staring down at her from her nest in the corner of the room, Sabe snarling in her direction, and finally, with the twist of her head, she saw Cain, hands outstretched.

"Wh-what're you doing?" She managed to force out, Cain looking at her wildly, much like a wild animal, without any control. Like... an animal with rabies.

And just like that, Cain came at her. Eli called Sabe off when he went to lunge, the mountain lion rocking back on his haunches. Eli held her hands out protectively, water conjuring in her palms, and Cain followed her around the room.

Lakisha

"Get on your knees," the guard hissed in my ear.

Why he wanted me to do that, I didn't know, but I obeyed. My whole body was trembling, sweat beading on my forehead. Wow, I had screwed up. I didn't think that causing a tiny bit of excitement would get me into some life-threatening situation. I breathed slowly, trying to calm my frayed nerves. No illusion was getting me out of this one.

I heard the gun click. I didn't know how they operated, but I knew that the sound came before the shot. "What the hell did I do to deserve this?!" I demanded, my voice hardly above a whisper.

"You killed that guard. He was my brother," he hissed.

My eyes widened. I had killed him?! I swear he had been breathing when I got back to my room! I was trembling violently. "I swear I didn't kill him! He was still breathing when I got back to my room!" I was screaming it, but I failed to realize that. I was sure he had still been alive...

"Well who did?"

I didn't answer him. "Kalayn! Eli! Adam! Somebody!" I screached. The man slapped my head and I squeezed my eyes shut. This was all a tad too melodramatic for me. Was I dreaming? No, it had to be real. The gun was still there, pressed firmly to my temple. No, it was real all right. Whoever comes to my rescue, if anybody cares enough to, they had better have a gun on hand and know how to use it. I thought to myself.

Eli~

Eli screamed, finally, and shot of the door, Sabe running after her, followed by Crim. She shot around the corner, and slammed into someone's back. Looking up, she gasped. "Kalayan! Hurry up! Lakisha's in trouble!" Eli caught her breath, shaking violently, and finally took in a deep breath. "Hurry!" She hissed, running again. She heard Kalayan behind her as she turned another corner, hearing a gun shoot loudly. She stopped dead in her tracks. Lakisha was laying on the ground, unmoving, and the guard had the gun pointed at Eli.

It wasn't until her arm began to throb, that she realized just what had happened. A bullet was lodged in her arm, she could feel it every time she moved it, no matter how she moved it. She looked up, slowly, at the man with the gun, Sabe snarling behind her.

Eli, raising her lip in a makeshift snarl, glared at him, a growl low in her throat as blood began to drizzle down her arm. "I'll shoot again! I swear I will!" The guard yelled.

He's out of rounds. There's another set in his pocket, but it'll take him too long to reload. And, with that thought in her mind, Eli ran at the guard, who popped the round out of his gun reaching for the next in his pocket, which gave Eli enough time to throw her small body against the guards large frame.

LAKISHA

My whole body was trembling even worse now and I could feel tears of panic fill the rims of my eyes. I remembered a story my mom had told me about a brave night who risked life and limb to save his true love. I let myself wonder what it would be like to be that girl, not having to worry about anything. It would make me weak; that's what it would do. I'd rather save the brave knight. Of course right now I would kill to have some knight save me.

I felt the gun move away from my head and an arm coil itself around my upper arm. I still didn't open my eyes. I was too busy keeping them closed and muttering a few prayers.

"Would you shut up?!" the guard growled. I refused to let my eyes open. I didn't want to know what I would see.

I heard footsteps and Sabe growling. "Oh thank God!" I muttered under my breath.

"Don't be thinking anybody yet." I heard the gun fire and pain shot up my side. I didn't know where I had been shot, only that it had happened. I groaned and the world faded out.
