I threw on my cold, wet, and soda scented shirt, and Kimy and I started heading back to the mess hall. I took out my mp3 and turned it off. The walk back seemed somewhat...quiet. I felt like I should say something, if she wasn't planning on doing so.

"So, aside from this little misfortune, what's camp been like for you so far?" I asked nervously.

"Not too bad, I guess. Everyone's nice, but it's still a bit quiet. And you?"

"Well, quiet like you, but I can't be too certain about anybody else"

"Oh?"

"I don't know, maybe I'm just not wanting to be too...sociable with the others"

"Why's that?"

"I don't know. There's just something about them, I guess...". Crap, I started a conversation I couldn't continue. Thank god the mess hall wasn't too far of a walk.

"I better get some more food, then", she said, entering the door, when all the people inside started coming out.

"Dammit!" she said. Breakfast was done, as it seems. I looked inside, there was no food left around.

"Well, you had a bottle of 7-up in your bag. Did you bring a drink and no food?"

"Yeah..." she said, looking somewhat embarassed. I think she wanted to keep her food a secret for a while.

"You missed breakfast too. You want something?", she asked.

"I'll pass. I'm not too hungry anyways", I said. I really wasn't too hungry. I've gone without breakfast before, and I didn't want to take all of her food from her. It was her food, not mine, after all.

We started rounding back to the cabins again.

"So, what's going on now? Free time?", I asked.

"I have no idea", she answered.

I pulled a poetry book out of my bag and headed to the main ground. Great, I slept through breakfast, how delightful.
I was headed for my favirote smoke and reading spot but I came to find there was already someone there.
" Excuse me," I half yelled, just the tiniest bit annoyed," you're kinda, in my favirote spot." She looked up at me with empty eyes before giving a weak smile. I noticed a book hanging from her hand.
" Edgar Allen Poe, good shit," I took a seat beside her and pulled a ciggerette out of the front pocket of my black and grey plaid shirt.
" Yeah," she looked around a bit confused," he's my favirote. My name's Winter, yes like the season."
" Dari," I shook my fag," you don't mind?" She shook her head no and looked out towards the woods. She looked up me for a while.
" May I help you?" She shook her head then laughed.
" Never seen anyone with purple eyes." I nodded in understanding.
" I've never met anyone with the name Winter." We both laughed then stopped abruptly.
" Guess that's a first for both of us." My stomach growled and I laughed again.
" Damn."
" What you missed breakfast?" I nodded and stood up, leaning against the trunk of the tree.
" Okay, guys, time for camp activities," Sara rounded the corner in a mass of fake blonde hair and shorts. I rolled my eyes.
" Well," I helped her up," nice knowing 'ya. Imma just go somewhere other than here." She dusted off her jeans and gave me a sideways glance.
" What about activities?" I flicked my smoke to the ground.
" Excatly," I smiled," what about them?"

Evangeline.
Besides the slight interaction she had with Dari yesterday, she spent the next hours locked up in her cabin. Breakfast was ok for her, at least it made her go out and try to socialize, not good by the way because it was kind of irritating.
So when she finished, she grabbed her guitar and looked for a good place to sit, unfortunately before she could even sit, which irritated her even more, she heard someone yell Camp activities. Well, maybe she could get to know some people so she walked towards the people before bumping into someone. Yeah, it seemed as if she was bumping into everyone.
"Hey" She heard someone say and lifted her head up.

"I'm so sorry...is just" Now she was about to rant but thankfully the girl interrupted her.

"It's ok, I'm Winter" She said.

Aidan
He hadn't seen his sister since the time they arrived, not that he cared much but it was kind of nice seen her around; she gave him a feeling of protection for some reason.
So he went out of his cabin and went to breakfast. a lonely breakfast by the way. So he got bored quickly, having no one to talk to, and staring at the trees was definitely not a good thing for him.
Something he and her sister had in common, was that they couldn't leave without their guitars, but his obsession included a skateboard. So why not try to skateboard around here. It was camp and everything but there must have been a place. But as he was walking he noticed a girl, saying hi to everyone, being almost too polite to everyone and eventually that girl reached him.
"Hey" She said with a smile.

"Good Morning" He said taking off his cap and grabbing her hand. "And your name sweet morning lade is..." He said with a funny little accent. Well, at least it did make her laugh.

"Abbey" She said. But then he noticed a guy standing behind her and she noticed it too. "Oh, and he's Jon, my best friend"

"I have no idea." I reply to Jake's question. Then I hear the call for first specials.

"I am going to writing>" I say with a small sigh.

"Oh, so am I." He looked a bit surprised.

"Cool!" I reply. We walk into hall 6. A small group of tables are set up, two seats to a table. As soon as all the tables are filled, a counselor comes in the door.

"Okay," He says, "You have ten minutes. Write whatever you want."

I am shocked for a minute, then thought up a song I had been working on earlier.

They said I couldn't make it,
Well look at me now.
They said,
I would amount to nothing,
Well look at me now.

They said I would always be the same,
A silly girl in a fantasy world,
They said I couldn't change my ways
As a silly girl in a fantasy world.

They said I would be in a shadow,
But now I am in the light.
They said stay indoors,
But I am in the light.

They look at me now,
I am in the light.
I am ready to shine.
They said.

I glance over at Jake. He has his mp3 player out. I sigh and roll my eyes. His paper is blank.

I tapped the table with the pen, trying to think of something to write. I couldn't think of a single thing. I wasn't much of a writer to begin with, so I didn't know much about how to go about it.

I only ended up in writing because anything else I was good at was full. I could've done swimming, I could've done music, but noooo. Maybe I'd be good at writing, I said to myself. Maybe all the music I listen to might help, I said to myself.

I turned to my right and see Kimy, with a page filled with writing. How was she so good at this? She gave a kind of ashamed look towards my blank paper.

"Something the matter?" she asked me.

"No. Just can't get any ideas", I said back.

"Do you do a lot of writing?"

"Not really, no. I see you seem to", I said, pointing at her paper.

"Sort of...mostly song writing"

"No way" I said, somewhat surprised. It was kind of cool. "Do you sing some of them?"

The counseller put his hand down on the table right between us.

"And what are you two talking about?", he asked. I don't know why, but I was somewhat worried that we'd be in trouble for making friends at a summer camp.

"She's just...giving me some pointers" I told him. I looked at Kimy. I shrugged my shoulders, she shrugged back. The counseller took his hand off the table.

"Alright then", he said, "But take the music out of your ears. You don't need it on everywhere you go".

I rolled my eyes in disappointment and stuffed it into my pocket. The counseller walked away.

"Well, I'm going to be stuck in this writing thing for the duration of camp, and I'm crap at it", I said to her, "Do you mind helping me out with it?"

**Wow! You guys are fast!*

"Mom! I told you, just get directions, a map, a GPS anything! Now I'm really late for camp! M-om!" I yell. She had offered to drive me up even though she had no idea where the camp was. I saw a sign saying, Exit 42 Camp Hillbay.

"MOM! MOM! Over there!" I bellowed, pointing to the sign. A couple minor bumps later and a lot of cursing, we were finally there.

"Honey have a good time! Don't do anything dumb, remember our talk. I love you sweetiepie!" my mom called as she drove away. My cheeks blushed as I realized how many people were staring. I walked up to a girl with a teen Vogue in her hands, laaughing with other girls.

"Hey, um where's the erm, main office?"

"Oh, your late? We'll take you!" she answered smiling brightly. I think this just might be okay..

Diana

I made my way down another dirt trail from my cabin, I had overslept, something I usually don't do, and skipped breakfast. I decided to take the nice scenic route to my first elective. Which I somewhat forgot, it was either music or writing, maybe it was dance. Yesterday was a blur and it was useless to try and remember.

Soon I had bumped into a group of three two males and one girl. I recognized the one as Abbey, she was in my same cabin. Although we hadn't met formally yet, I liked her. She seemed fun. The other next to her was Aiden, I couldn't forget the kid with the skateboard and guitar.

I walked up to them smiling. "Hey." I said, they turned to look at me. "Hey." Abbey answered back, returning my smile. "I'm Diana." I introduced. "I'm Abbey, and this is my friend Jon." Abbey replied with a gesture to the boy next to her. He muttered a small "Hi." and I nodded in response.

"It's nice meeting you again Diana. If i forgot to say before, thank you for the help on finding my cabin." Aiden told me. I nodded.

"No problem. So what elective did you guys pick?" I asked the group.

I turned to look at Jake, "I could help you. And yes, I do sing a lot of my songs actually."

"Think of something." I say. He gives me a weird look. then puts his head on his chin.

"Okay, I got it, the crap we were served at breakfast."

"Write down four words describing it." He did. Two of them were a swear words. I rolled my eyes.

"Now put them into sentences, like this":

The yellow crap called scrambled eggs,
The icky mound of muffins.
And that shit that they call bacon.
How I long for real food,
And anything but this food.
How I long for real food.
And anything but this.

We share a laugh.

"Impressive!" He says. Too soon the elective is over and we have free time back at our bunks. When we get there Anette is looking through my Vouge magazines and laughing, probably at the comments I wrote in sharpie on the dresses. That and the fact I drew mustaches on Paris Hilton.

I go over and sit by her. Sure enough she is looking at Pairs's stash. i laugh at the picture.

"Hi," I say, "I am kimy."

"Anettte." She says, shaking my hand. Then we share a breief laugh over the Paris Stash.

I went into my cabin and grabbed my usuall pack of cancer sticks, as my sister calls them, and Lord Lost, a book I brought for some good, old fashioned, demon action.
I hadn't wasted my time trying to sneak around the counslers, they couldn't stop me anyway. I stood at the gate that seperated us from the rest of the forest. I was over it in a matter of seconds.
The trees were magnificent and the grass was tall and soft. A deer crossed in the path in front of me, gave me a strange look, and trotted away. I passed a small bundle of trees and was greated by a lush meadow.
I got all deer eyed and plopped down in the middle of a bundle of daisys. Fifteen minutes later I was asleep.

I walk behind the cabin to go get something, and I find Dari sitting there smoking. I take the cigarette and the pack.

"Um, excuse me?!" I say.

"May I help you?" She asks coolly.

"No, you can help yourself. Or better yet, I will help you." I chuck the cigarettes into the lake. she just stare.

"What was that for?"

"Figure it out. You were smoking. Smoking is BAD!"

"In your opinion." I take her hand and lead her into the cabin. I go up to the counselor and say, "Dari has been smoking." The counselor drops her clipboard, the other girls gasp.

He looked over at Diana, the girl who had helped him the other day. she seemed nice and a bit too eager to be with them, not that he was bothered but it just seemed a bit weird.

"Well, I don't know, I go were you guys go. I have absolutely nothing to do" Aidan said, putting his cap back on and staring at Abbey with a huge smile. Yes, he liked her. She seemed so nice that it was almost surreal. But there was Diana too. OH shoot, he better stopped thinking about girls and do something useful with his life.

"So...where to?" Diana asked.

"We were going to the activities actually" Abbey said with a huge smile, taking jon's arma as she talked.

Evangeline
That was trouble, she stood next to Winter as Kimy exposed Dari in front of the whole crowd. Well, at least it hadn't been her. There was so many people talking that it was almost too hard to hear what the Counselor was saying.
"What the heck happened?" Evangeline asked Winter.

I finished unpacking after sharing a laugh of the Paris Stache. That girl, Kimmy was really nice and funny. I had a feeling we would end up good friends. As I was putting my tank tops into the small brown basket, a guy about my age ran into the room breathing heavily.

"You know this is a girl's cabin right?"

"Yeah and?"

I gaped at him before gaining my wits and yelling.

"BOY IN THE GIRLS CABIN!!! BOY IN THE GIRL CABIN!!"

Abbey~~~

Abbey smiled and paused, what did she pick again?

"Good question," Abbey then laughed, the guy next to her let out a chuckle, she never did formally introduce herself.

"Here Abs," Jon handed Abbey her schedule and then shrugged at the girl's questioning looks.

"Looks like we have canoeing together," The other boy laughed.

"Well hello there new friend, you are officially in charge of trying to keep me in the boat!" Abbey replied holding on to Aiden's arm, she was becoming a bit warm aand it made the poor girl even happier.

I shrugged at the counslers and pulled my emergency smoke out of my back pocket and lit it. I took a long drag before blowing a puff of smoke out in the air above one of the guy counsler's heads. Kimy made a grab for it but I grabbed her wrist," If you want your face to stay in it's current arrangment, I suggest you stop." Annoying Counsler number one tapped my shoulder.
" Darliana, no smoking on camp." I rolled my eyes and walked out. I got one foot out of the door and looked over my shoulder.
" This isn't over, Kimy," I smiled," don't think i'll just let you get away with ratting me out." I took another long drag and walked out the door.
" Game on, Kimy," I laughed and headed to the pool.
