Name: Kale Windhorn

Age: 17, 6th year

Gender: Male

House: Slytherine (everyone else was Gryffindor...)

Personality: Kale is an interesting fellow. He likes to keep people guessing about him. His reputation is important to him, he wants to be viewed as powerful, elegant, and mysterious...and he is. He doesn't have many people who are close to him so his true identity is never in jeapordy. Kale is a desperate romantic and a bit of a softie sometimes. He also feels like he is going through a quarter life crisis. He is very very protective of his younger sister, Jane.

Appearance: Tall and lean build with a darker complexion that hints at summers spent in the sun. He has bright green eyes and a simple hair style, just a little shaggy- and his hair is dirty blonde.

Background: Kale comes from a very wealthy and powerful pureblood family. His father is very high up in the Ministry and is due to run for Minister in the next few years. His uncle's all own successful buisnesses and make huge donations to the school. His mother is the editor of the most popular Witch's fashion and news magazine in all of England. Their home is set on four acre's of private land just outside of London. Kale always felt his home was more for show and less for living. His parents are always having important dinner parties or meetings at home. Kale has a younger sister, Jane (fourth year), and an elder brother Charles or "Chuck," who lives in Northern London and owns the best kept secret in London, an all wizard hotel that is invisble to muggles.

Strenghths: Kale has never been necessarily book smart but he can master spells and charms in a flash. Once he learns something he never forgets it.

Weaknesses: He's terrible at potions, he can't whip up a potion to save his life. He is also very isolated much of the time and tends to bottle things up...which often leads to explotions.

Wand type: 8 1/2 inches, Willow, pheonix feather

Pet: He's allergic to cats.

Other: He's up for love. Also if someone wants to take the character of his younger sister, Jane, thats cool with me. You can change the name. If not it doesn't matter.
All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come of it.

Name: Jane Windhorn

Age: 14, 4th year

Gender: Female

House: Slytherin

Personality: Jane has a very dry sense of humor. More often than not, if she is completely happy, she has just finished pulling a prank on somebody. She's spontaneous, and doesn't often think new ideas through before executing them. She's laid back and casual, and doesn't bother with many formalities. Jane sees herself going far in the world, and isn't about to let anyone get in her way.

Appearance: Medium height with tight blonde curls. She's got a wiry build (probably due to the hours on the Quidditch pitch) and seems compact, somehow, despite her very regular height.

Background: Jane comes from a long line of purebloods. She's the youngest of her siblings and the only girl in the family. Jane's father is quickly rising up to be the next Minister of Magic, and her mother runs a very popular magazine. Jane is relatively impassive about her home life, perhaps only because she is so enamoured with Hogwarts. Jane is close to her older brother, Kale.

Strengths: Jane, oddly enough, has a natural talent towards Potions. She's fair at Charms, but her real gift comes out on the Quidditch pitch. Jane is a Slytherin Chaser, and looks more at home in the air then she does on the ground.

Weaknesses: Jane is horrible at Transfiguration and Herbology, as she lacks the patience needed for both of the subjects.

Wand type: 10 inches, cedar, unicorn hair.

Pet: She has a grumpy spotted owl by the name of Braxlin.

Other: Up for love.

I think we can start, we have six people, it should be enough. Are there any questions before we start?

So I'm just going to start, unless there are any objections. I happen to be freaking excited about this sb.

Kale-

Kale rapped his fingers against the red surface of the table in his booth. He propped his feet up on the seat across from him and turned to look out the window. The train was chugging along at an alarming rate. They would be to school soon enough. He pulled his want out and rolled it back and forth between his hands along the smooth table.

The train car he was in was nearly filled, mostly with other slytherines. A few rows over his sister, Jane, sat with he friends. She held a magazine up, hiding her face, but he knew it was here. The blonde hair and tight curls gave her away. Her hair had always been much fairer than his. Her's was like their mothers, the color of sunshine and lemon drops. His was more like their fathers and Chuck's, his older brother; darker, like a cloudy day when you almost can't see the sun, but hints of it still lingered.

The girls she sat with giggled and whispered to each other. Their laughter was one of the few sounds that filled the car. At one point Jane lowered her magazine and her eyes were wide at something the girls had said, but her expression quickly changed. Kale often found himself watching over his sister, protecting her. It was his duty. Chuck never did it for him but he was bound not to make the same mistake.

A movement close to him made his eyes dart away from Jane and to the booth next to him. One of his friends or more followers, as it were, stood up and leaned down to talk right into Kale's ear, "We're almost there, do you want me to get your robes?" Kale nodded and looked back out the window. The day was gray and foggy. He could already feel this year would be different, it was in the air.

(Is it okay if I join?)

Spoiler
Name: Alex Baker

Age: Sixth Year, sixteen years old.

Gender: Male

House: Hufflepuff

Personality: Rather confused. He just can't keep his thoughts straight most of the time. Because of this, he has been labeled as a non-attentive daydreamer, who won’t amount to anything. He is, however, determined to show people that he isn't just some random kid who will never make it in the world... although he isn't sure how.

Appearance: Scraggly. Very thin, but short, only five feet tall at most. He has Dirty hair that is probably a light brown, but is so mussed up that it's hard to tell. His eyes are always covered by his bangs. He usually walks as if in a daze, wandering from place to place, seemingly, without a purpose.

Background: Alex comes from a poor wizarding family, living in rural London. His mother works all day as a part-time laundress in Diagon Alley, and part-time as a barmaid at the Leaky Cauldron. She spends so much of her time working that she doesn’t see her son very often. This is probably why he has such an unkempt look about him. As for Alex’s father, he disappeared one day, probably leaving them for a more promising life.

Strengths/Weaknesses: He muddles through his classes, falls off broomsticks, loses at most board games, and has very little social life. His one strong point is dreaming up new fantastical magical devices… though, of course, no one listens to him.

Wand type: Redwood, 12 inches exactly, springy, phoenix feather core.

Pet: He never had enough money to buy one, but he’s always wanted an owl.

Other: Up for love? Why not.

Alex Baker gazed out the train’s window with a faraway look in his eyes. He is leaning his forehead against the foggy window, thinking faraway thoughts that would, to anyone else, seem muddled and unrelated. However, Alex, with his unusual way of thinking, could see connections between them. Could dried frogspawn mixed with muggle gunpowder create a better firecracker? What if they used hippogriff feathers for wand cores? How did the famous You-Know-Who exist without a body? Could he see or hear without eyes or ears? And so on. It is a remarkable talent for any one person to think like that and still function properly.

As the train speeds on, Alex becomes vaguely aware of Hogwarts Castle’s lights up ahead, and lethargically reaches for his school robes. Had his mind not been busy with the strange and the wonderful, he might have noticed the brief flash of wand light from the Forbidden Forest. Or perhaps not.

Jane

Jane gave an exasperated sigh as she lowered her magazine. "You four really aren't about to let me finish reading this, are you?"

Four the past hour or so, her friends had been involved in a very intense debate about their summers: which muggles they had pranked, where they went, who they saw, and the like. Jane has quietly backed out of the conversation, as her summers were filled with no such excitement.

Marie, the more studious of their group, jumped up, her eyes glued to the window. "I think I see the school now. We should probably change into our robes."

Jane moved to close the curtains in their compartment window. She glanced outside briefly, and saw her brother watching her from his compartment. Jane gave him a quick, teasing smile before yanking the curtains closed.

After changing, the girls only had a quick ten minute ride before the train slowly chugged to a halt in Hogsmeade Station. Jane was the first to dash out of their compartment, eager to get onto the platform, and then to the school.

Kale-

Jane threw me a rueful smiles before disappearing to change into her robes. I also went to change into my robes. The train pulled to a smooth stop and everyone began filing off the train. Jane was one of the first ones off. She darted in between people and skidded to a halt at the front of the crowd. Kale kept an eye on her through the windows as he unboarded.

"Jane, wait up!" he called. He caught up to her just as the first carriages were arriving. Her giggling gaggle of friends also found there way to the brother and sister. They all piled into a carriage but from the ammount of noise they were making Kale decided to take the next one. Jane didn't really want him hanging around anyway.

Kale's hands slid into his pockets and he kicked at the loose gravel while waiting for a carriage. When it finally came he was the first in, followed by a few others. One was a boy with his nose in a book. Kale didn't know him well, he didn't know anyone well. The boy sat right next to Kale and looked up only momentarily.

"Hey," he said.

"Hello." Kale replied.

"I'm Peter," the boy was still reading.

"Kale." he responded hoping the conversation was over.

Violet~~

My body tumbled along, although the seats in the train's boxes were comfy they were certainly no place for a nap! As I made my way through the group towards the carriages I was met by 'hellos' and a few hugs here and there but my mind still was dormant.

"Room for one more?" I motioned towards two guys who looked like they had just met a smile began to plaster to my face.

*sorry I just threw her in there...

Peter~

Peter faintly recognized a body scooting beside him in the carriage, he has been so caught sucked into his book that what was happening around him barely seemed important. He slid over to make room for the other boy and closed his book. He felt it'd be rude to read while someone else was in the carriage.

Judging from the green robes dirty blonde hair he was slytherin. Peter had seen this kid before,Kale Windhorn. He'd never talked to him before but Peter knew him to be popular amongst the slytherin kids. He also seemed... distant. Peter found it strange how the boy could win friends with ease while at the same time have eyes that looked so alone and indifferent. As far as Peter could tell, the only close person Kale had was his sister. Other than her, nobody knew much about him except that he was a natural in every kind of wand craft. He was somewhat of a mystery. It kind of creeped him out.

"Room for one more?" Peter looked at the girl dumbofounded for a moment his mind still registering her question.

"I'm sorry, What...?"

"May I sit?" The girl clarrified rubbing her shoulders "It's cold."

"Oh! Cripes...sorry." Peter, slid next to Kale to allow her rooom. "I'm Peter."

"Violet," she said, shaking Peter's offered hand. Peter smiled at her.

"Nice to meet you Violet. I have a cousin named Violet. When she was a baby a dove dropped a petal from a Violet on her forhead. Atleast that's what my aunt says but, mind you, Violet's a bit looney. I think a rock was dropped on her head as a baby."

Name: Bradly MAcArthur

Age: 17, 6th year

Gender: Male

House: Ravenclaw

Personality: Brad isn't much of a talker, and tends to just keep his head down, and walk by. He isn't exactly shy, just never sure of anything social. In class he is a know-it-all and constantly outshines people, and is the same with quidditch. If you get him to talk, it will usually be about something he knows a lot of about, like help with homework, but just staying on that one topic alone.

Appearance: He has black hair, which is usually kept under a hat, (forget the name of it, but those like stretchy, bowl like ones that form to fit) it pokes out of the ends most of the time, and when he takes it off his hair looks like an explosion. Along with that he has a pretty scrawny build, but has surprising strength, being a keeper. Blue eyes are usually hidden under a book, or his hat that are always sort of awake, yet distant.

Background: Brad comes from a rich home, his family were all slytherin, except for his uncle. He is an only child, and was raised by one of their house elves, who currently works at the castle while he is at school. At the age of eight he took a liking to quidditch when his uncle got him a broom, and kept playing since. Being alone though he usually would just read alone in his room, practicing spells.

Strengths: His best classes are Potions and Charms. He is also a talented quidditch keeper, and has a vast knowledge of random facts.

Weaknesses: Herbology isn't his strong suit, the living plants ca';t be summed up too well in just a few words, and usually will end up having to sit back while his partners do most of it.

Wand type: Birch wood 8 3/4 with q hippogryph feature core.

Pet: He has a pet Iguana he uses to practice spells on, it hates him.

Other: Up for love

Alex Baker

Alex stumbled, in his usual befuddled state, to a carriage parked very near the still steaming train. As soon as the door closed behind him, the coach set off at a steady, rhythmic pace. Did Alex notice the stares of the assembled passengers? No. He was too busy in his own, preoccupied way. If he had bothered to emerge from the depths of his mind for a moment, he may have noticed the odd group of students sitting around him. There was a Slytherin who he might have recognized from his own year, and several students from the year below them. The most curious of the little group was a girl with the Ravenclaw crest stitched onto her robes. She seemed to have red hair, and an energetic confidence not shared by the rest of the coach. Some adventurous part of his brain noticed. He narrowed his eyes at her, thinking.

Noticing his stare, the red haired girl shifted uneasily in her seat. “What?” she asked. Alex stared a moment longer before asking,

“Why do you look like you were manufactured?”
