Sam - Shifter

Slowly and painfully, Sam shifted back to human form and lay on the floor for a while. His leg, once just painful, had become agonising. He reached up a hand to touch his ear and grimaced when he realised that there was a tear through it.
They took the headmaster, Sam hadn't been able to save him.

He stood up and braced his back against the wall, wincing as his leg throbbed and threatened to buckle. But he could see his friends in the hall; he had to make sure that they were ok.

Elliot, his best friend, was kneeling down next to Garred, Storm and Veriane. Despite himself, even when they'd just been attacked, Sam still felt his heart and stomach gulp a little when he saw Veriane's face. As quick as he could, Sam limped over to their small group and collapsed beside Elliot with a moan of pain. His leg wouldn't hold him up for too long; the gash had deepened and widened, and there were long, purpleish bruises running up and down his calf.

"Hey guys," Sam rasped, grinning widely despite himself, "You all look alive, which is definitely a good thing." He shot a glance at Garred and winked slightly, "No offence meant there, bud."
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

"Drako," I said, stumbling towards him, shocked. How could they take his unhatched sister?! But of course I knew the answer. She was a dragon. Dragons are rare and valuable allies. "Drako," I said again, grabbing at his hand. "Drako, I'm helping. I-I want to help. Let me help." "No," He said, his voice icy. I knew I couldn't possibly do anything useful to help him, but I had to try. "Anything," I gasped, holding his free hand tighter. "Anything. I'll do anything to help. Please, Drako. Let me help!" He looked down at me with silver eyes, and what I saw in them gave me chills:

Veriane - Shifter

I stared at the blood that caked Sam's pant leg. I could smell it. There was quite a bit of it, and I could smell fresh blood as well. My own stomach was bleeding some; when the vampire had grabbed me it had managed to get its nails through the scales on my belly. The cuts weren't too deep, but they were there. I got to my feet, wincing and putting a hand to my stomach. "Sam, that looks pretty bad."

Sam looked at me, startled. I saw that his ear had a nasty-looking tear in it. I felt a flash of anger. If I ever caught who did that... I was brought back down to earth by Sam speaking. "It's not too bad, really."

I rolled my eyes. "Sam, you've lost so much blood I could smell you coming as soon as you left the Headmaster's office. Come on, you need medical attention." I pulled him to his feet. He instantly yelped and nearly fell down again, but I grabbed his arm and threw it over my shoulders, allowing him to use me as a human cane.

"No, seriously Veriane I'll be fine. If you just let me sit down for a second then it'll stop hurting. Come on, it's practically a scratch."
Veriane just rolled her eyes and carried on moving, keeping Sam's arm around her body. Sam felt his cheeks flush slightly as he stole a quick glance down at her.
"Are you alright?" he asked gently, "What's happened to your stomach?"
He saw Veriane's hand briefly touch her stomach before returning to her side. Sam felt a growl rise up in his throat, if Veriane was hurt badly then he'd happily put away his pacifist morals for a while. He tightened his arm around her shoulders and squeezed her reassuringly. Sam still felt the heavy weight of guilt bear down upon him. He had let the vampires get away with the headmaster.
"I - I couldn't save the headmaster," he blurted out, "It's my fault really. I'm not strong, or a good fighter. I could barely help."

Veriane - Shifter

I looked up at Sam. "At least you tried, Sam. If you hadn't been there they would have taken him with no resistance. You put up a fight. That has to be worth something. And besides, if you had fought more it's more than likely that you would have gotten killed." I was silent for a moment. "I should have been there you know. I should have known that the others could handle it. If I had been there maybe you wouldn't have gotten hurt." A flush rose in my cheeks when I said the last sentence.

And maybe the Headmaster would be safe.

I continued leading Sam towards the nurse's office.

Sam - Shifter

Sam unwound his arm from Veriane's shoulders and straightened up as the reached the nurse's office. His leg was still throbbing painfully and he could see some red on Veriane's top where the blood had obviously soaked through. He hopped over to the door and opened it before she got there, holding it wide so she could walk through before him.

Pain shouldn't make you give up your manners, He reasoned to himself, following Veriane through the door. The nurse was obviously getting ready for a few injured people, she was getting out bandages and other equipment in readiness. She turned when she saw them and smiled welcomingly.

"Come on in, dears. Just sit down over there. Now, who needs my help first?"

"Veriane!" Sam butted in before Veriane could say anything. He didn't think that he could stand to be treated before her. She threw him a dirty look as the nurse immediately moved to her and began to inspect her stomach.

Storm, Wolf

Storm watched Veriane lead Sam away to the nurse slowly. She sighed and leaned against Garred who sat next to her, her arm seemed like it was on fire.

Elliot looked at them and sighed, "I can't believe we fell for the distraction..." he said quietly. Storm smiled gravely and put a hand on his shoulder.

"At least we fought Elliot, who knows what else they could've done if we hadn't."

Veriane - Shifter

I shot Sam a glare that immediately turned to a wince as the nurse probed my cuts with long fingers. There were four of them, cresent shaped, one on top of the other. They were shallow, but they still hurt. The nurse sighed and shook her head, then got to work.

A little while later my midsection was bandaged up. "Now will you take care of Sam?" I begged. She nodded and took me back to Sam. I sat down again as the nurse led Sam away. I wasn't going to leave until Sam came back out.

I wanted to make sure he was okay.

Ariel
It wasn't possible, the vampires had taken the dragon. A dragon in the vampire's side was extremely dangerous. It was something she had read lon ago, but never believed could be done.
Desivy begged Drakon to let her help him, but he kept saying no. He was a dragon, yes powerful, yes but he couldn't do this alone. It was not possible. So Ariel took a deep breath and spoke.

"Ok,look. Yes, we know, dragon pride and all sorts of rare stuff. But could you stop being so proud for one second and let us help you" The last part came a little too loud for her to like how it sounded. "If you want to do this alone, then fine go kill yourself. But we will not endanger anyone in this school" Yes, that sounded a little harsh but it had to be done.

Elliot
All his emotions of rage and anger ceased completely and he was able to sit with Storm. Sam had come to them but he was injured. He felt sad broken, all his friends had been injured and put in danger thanks to some stupid distraction.
But he heard Storm moan silently and all his worries were back on him again.
"We have to take you to the nurse" He said, caressing her hair very softly and wishing that she wouldn't feel uncomfortable.
"You ok Garred" Elliot asked him. He looked fine nothing worse than been extremely exhausted.
"Ok,let's go, we have to take you to the nurse" And he helped her walk being extremely careful with her broken arm. She seemed weak, almost too weak to walk, so all of a suden he lift her up and carried her.
"I can walk" She protested, Garred lauging behind her.
"I doubt that" Elliot said. So the three of them walked towards the nurse and found Veriane waiting outside.

Storm, wolf

Storm groaned as Elliot carried her throughout the school. It was embarrasing yet comforting at the same time. Eventaully, she dicided that she should walk on her own. "Elliot," she said wriggling out of his arms and setting herself on the floor. "I can walk, trust me." She took a step forward, and a suddenly sharp pain shot up her leg. She cried out and landed on the floor a couple of feet away, fire coursing up her leg.

"Oh God..." she cried, "I think a venemous one bit me!"

Elliot
HE watched how Storm started having trouble to breathe and eventually she collapsed, sobbing.
"We have to get there now" he said grabbing her and carrying her again. He couldn't believe that even when the fought so hard one that he cared about was injured. But long ago he promised himself that if he got so care for someone that much, he was going to protect that someone at all costs. And that someone seemed to be Storm.

Garred and Elliot ran as fast as they could until they got to the nurse but Sam haad gotten there earlier.
"We need space now!" Elliot heard Garred as the nurse watched them with wide eyes.

Storm, Wolf

Storm held in her sobs as Elliot and Garred raced her to the nurse. Her vision started to blur and she was vaguely aware of Garred yelling to the nurse to make room.

She felt herself be laid down on a bed, and saw Elliot beside her. She quickly reached out for his hand and gripped it tightly. "D-Don't leave me."

Garred, Ghost

Garred paced in front of Storm's bed, his thoughts racing. Shes gotta live, shes gotta live he thought desperatly.

Suddenly, a thought came to him from across the campus, They stole Drako's unhatched sister...and Garred stopped dead.

He turned to Elliot, "Dude, stay here with Storm! I gotta go check something out right away. You make sure my little sister makes it!" And with that Garred shadowed away.

Sam - Shifter

"There now, dear, that should be better," The nurse said, patting his newly bandaged leg. She looked at his ear sadly and sighed. "I can't heal that so well. It'll leave a terrible scar. As will the one on your leg."
Sam laughed, both of his injuries felt better now. "No problem! You've done a -"
Elliot and Garred burst into the room, interrupting the conversation.
"We need space now!" Garred yelled.
Sam jumped of the bed that he'd been sitting on and gestured to it quickly, sensing the urgency of the situation.

Immediately, Garred raced out of the room and carried Storm back in, placing her on the bed with infinite tenderness.
Garred then left, meaning that Sam was alone with Elliot, Storm and the nurse who was at the moment examining Storm.
Despite Elliot being his best friend, Sam didn't want to intrude on him and Storm at the moment. Elliot obviously cared for her, and Sam would be getting in the way if he talked.

He went out of the room as fast as he could and saw that Veriane was still standing in the corridor. His heart leapt and he hobbled across to her quickly.
"Are you ok?" He asked, concerned.
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

Veriane - Shifter

I looked up as Sam limped out of the nurse's office. "Are you okay?" he asked.

I smiled slightly. "I'm fine. What about you, are you alright?"

Sam nodded. "I'm fine now."

I flushed as my smile grew. I wasn't sure why I was blushing, but I was. "Good. You really had me worried there for a bit." I shut my mouth abruptly. Smooth Veriane... I berated myself silently. I scratched the back of my neck, pulling off a good chunk of skin. I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I dropped it to the ground behind me. I hate shedding.

Elliot
He walked into the room with Storm in his hands, looking back for a while before Garred was nowhere to be seen. But Sam was there, with his leg bandaged.
"Dude, you ok?" Elliot asked Sam who was heading out the door.

"Yeah, all better now" Sam answered with his golder retriever smile. That made Elliot laughed; alittle moment of fake happines that he enjoyed pretty much.

Sam went out and it was down to him, Storm and the nurse. Storm wasn't letting go of his hand, nor he wanted to let go of her hand for one little second. He looked at the nurse who was examining Storm's injury.
"Will she be ok?" He asked, obvious concern in his face and voice. He tried hard to avoid sounding like that.

"Yes" the nurse answered, somehow not too worried. "It was a venomous indeed but it's nothing really bad. She's a shifter, right? Wh turns into a wolf? well, vampire venom is a little more poisonous to wolf shifters than any other kind. But it's not so bad, with a little treatment she'll be just perfect." the nurse continued and he couldn't help to laugh at the thought of Storm being even more perfect than she already was.
