The Darker Side of The Street

Hey, this was originally the first storybook I ever made, therefore it was kind of really not thought through. I still like the idea, though, and want to try it again. Shall we?


Background Infoooooooooooo!:

This is about a boarding school for those messed up kids out there. And insane asylum and school in one. However, there is one more twist.....there are other creatures there. Demons, vampires, witches/warlocks, and shifters among other things. Humans don't know about these creatures outside of the school, but once in the school, the different races merge, creating the student body. The headmaster, a vampire, created the school just ten years ago when he realised that humans and the creatures of the dark should not hate each other, but learn to accept each other. His first step in said plan was to have a school where they could do as such. No one knows what the next step will be in his plan, and not many people even know about his plan.

Plot:

There are some bad-blooded vampires coming after him, finally catching up after a fight in Italy seventy-five years ago. I figure once the evil vamps turn up (which will NOT be right away) the students could take sides. Fighting with the evil vampires against the school, or fighting to protect the school.

Rules:

PG-13 (no ultra-bad language)

No killing off characters without the permission of said character

Everyone can die/ cease to exist

All YWS rules, of course!


Races:

Vampires
Drink blood, ultra-sensitive skin (to physical stuff, temperature, and sun), fast, have to sleep/ feed every six hours or they pass out, amazing eyesight

Demons
Fast, strong, have a super-powerful demon form, every demon controls one of the four physical elements (earth, air, water, fire), most have terrible tempers

Witches/Warlocks
Amazing hearing, can do spells, control an element, create potions, talk to animals/plants, or any combination of those powers. Also, they can heal, but they have to eat a LOT because of how much energy they use up when using their powers.

Ghosts
Can shift their appearance slightly (height, weight, coloring, but nothing major like facial features or general figure), they can talk to people telepathically, but have a hard time reading peoples minds, can fly/float, and don't have to eat. However, they have to spend at least an hour in sunlight every 24 hours or they will dissolve into darkness completely and, basically, "die" again.

Shifter
People that can shift into animals. They usually already have some resemblance to their animal (every shifter has just one animal), they have better reflexes than most other people because of their animal instincts, and their senses are just a bit better than a normal humans when they aren't in animal form.

Name: Desivy Letity

Age: 16

Grade: 10

race: human, father is a vampire

Appearance: Des is average height, but very thin and pale, with naturally thick, black hair (which changes colors/cuts quite often), big grey eyes, and pink, pouty lips. She wears whatever she feels like, and doesn't think much about how people see her (appearance wise)

Personality: **you'll get the gist of it by reading the rest of my profile....**

Weaknesses/Strengths: Desivy has a weakness for moshing. She shouldn't do it, but she loves it. She has a bad temper, and she knows how to fight. She is an amazing friend, very loyal and trusting(could be a weakness). She is a wonderful singer, and she is very creative.

Likes/Dislikes: She hates it when people talk bad about her father, and she hates people who are exceptionally mean. She loves music and preforming. She loves having fun, and often gets in trouble.

Other: Up for love, has a metal band called The Tortured Dreamers, nickname is Desi/Des, and is headmaster's daughter

Name: Hayley Hawkins (nickname=Hayles)

Age: 14

Grade: 9

Race: Ghost

Appearance: Hayley is very tall and has long brown hair that falls to just bellow her shoulders, it is naturally wavy but she has a habit of straightening it, and will never be seen with it not perfectly straigth. She is very round, even though she doesn't eat, and always seems like she's only half there, like a shadow-but more than one, I guess you could say that she is 'fading away to a shadow'. Designer gear and nothing less will be all you will see her wearing.

Personality: Hayley is the type of girl who doesn't take crap and can be more than a little rude. She has her beliefs, and her way is always better than yours. She's also very cocky, and has a natural aura that brings people to her.

Weaknesses/Strengths: Hayley can get caught up proving her way is better (even when it isn't-though this happens very rarely), she can read peoples minds heaps better than any ghost, ever. She is very hard to become friends with, and is extrememly intimidating.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes the way she never has to eat, but hates it at the same time, it reminds her that she is no-longer a human. She hates that she can't see her reflection in the mirror-part of being a ghost, it makes it very, VERY hard to straighten her hair every morning. She hates that if she doesn't get enough sun she will die, and for good, it can get a tad annoying. She can stand anyone, but generally likes to hang out with the 'bad-boys'.

History: Hayley died in 1874, and it was no ordinary death, and it happened when she was only 14, rather than having a normal peacefull death, or a traumatic painful one, she had a tragic, horrible, awful death. Her life and soul was sucked from her body as she screamed and writhed in agony, a ghost was feeding off her. After her death her soul lived on, at first it was unseen, but as she saw more and more of the sun she started to re-appear, it was a very slow fade in, but eventually she became how she is today, un-noticable in darkness or shadows, but almost perfectly visible when in light (and not being reflected off a mirror, but her reflection can be seen in a lake or water etc.) By the time Hayley was visible her family was dead, and only her grandchildren were alive. Since then she has been staying invisible-when not getting her hours sunlight-hidden in alley-ways and shadows, only ten years ago when a wise old vampire opened a school for creatures like her did she finally find a place she could call home.

Name: Veriane Freans

Age: 16

Grade: 10

race: Shifter

Appearance: Light brown hair that comes down a little past her shoulders in loose waves. She has glittering onyx eyes. She's slightly taller than average height, (By only an inch or so), and is slim and well-built. When she's shedding her skin is peeling badly.

Personality: Friendly, but takes a bit to warm up to people. Tends to think on her feet and act without consulting others. She locks herself in her room when she's shedding. (Shedding tends to last several days).

Weaknesses/Strengths: Veriane is very fast and quick on her feet, and has amazing reflexes. She has trouble keeping her own body heat, and usually has to hang out in the sun to stay warm. If she's looking closeley at something and concentrating, she can see the heat it gives off. (I'm not really sure what it's called... where you can see body heat and stuff with that special lense... snakes can do it. Please tell me what it's called).

Likes/Dislikes: Absolutely hates people who think they're "all that" and acts like they should be in charge of everything. She also hates people who decide that they don't like someone before they get to know them. Veriane doesn't like loud noises or the cold. She likes warmth, darkness, quiet, and relaxing.

Other: Up for love, has a little bit of a crush on Sam, AM's char. Can transform into an Inland Taipan, better known as the most poisonous land snake on earth. Every month she starts shedding.

Name: Cydney Young

Age: 16

Grade: 10

Race: Fire Demon

Personality: She is the bad-girl of the school. She loves getting into trouble and when angered, she will go ballistic.

Weaknesses/strengths: Horrible temper, and she doesn't trust easily. She thrives in hot conditions, but weakens under cold temperatures.

Likes/dislikes: Warlocks killed her parents when she was 12 because the they thought her parents were 'monsters'. She hates having to go to school with warlockd. She also thinks that they are full of themselves.

Other: Up for love, if you can handle her.

Name: Vecian Crawe

Age:15

Grade: 10

Race: Warlock

Appearance: He has a shock of curly red hair, bright green eyes, and tons of freckles. He always wears loose, informal clothing, so that he can move around easily, according to him. Always appears to kind of serene.

Personality: He is very intelligent, but his head is always lost in the clouds. He's very nice and considerate, if you get to know him, but if someone threatens his friends (which, right now, are few), he can have a fiery temper. A very good ally when roused to do anything.

Weaknesses/Strengths: He can control earth, and he is a very good spell caster. He can also use swords with deadly accuracy. However, he has to have a very good reason to fight, as he's usually peaceful. He eats a lot, so he always has to have food nearby, or he passes out. Outside of spell-casting and sword-fighting, his reflexes aren't to good.

Likes/Dislikes: He really dislikes demons, but he gets along fine with anybody else. Humans have always prosecuted his kind, but he doesn't hold it against them. He loves food, his few friends, being in nature, sleeping and magic. He dislikes demons, people who are mean to his friends, and fire.

Other: Up for love.

Name: Storm Wall (girl by the way)

Age: 17

Grade: 11

race: shifter

Appearance: Has long silver/black hair and bright feral looking green eyes. Always likes to wear darker colors like black jeans, grey/white shirts and sweatshirts and always wears a pair of black boots.

Personality: Fierce and quick witted, stealthy and fast. To her friends shes bright and open and funny. To her enemies and people she doesn't really know well shes a little hot-headed and intimidating but open.

Weaknesses/Strengths: She can transform into a giant black and silver wolf

She is a very fast runner and a powerful fighter both in and out of form as well as stronger than the average person. She hates being called a werewolf and will get into fist fights over it. Her anger is quick if you come at her from the right side and she often can't control her strength when that happens and can be destructive.

Likes/Dislikes: She runs to be in her wolf form running free where ever she pleases and loves music and often sings to herself. She hates the aforementioned calling of a werewolf and also doesn't like when people call her old because of the color of her hair.

Other: Up for love and a best friend
