Alyssa

I didn't scream when the worm came out of the ground. I did, however, take several steps backwards. I had accidentally run into Jhon. He had grabbed my forearms to keep me from backing up any more. "You alright?" He asked quietly.

"Yeah. I'm really sorry I left like that, but Frederick distracted me. His feet were all cut up, and I needed to fix it. Then he started walking into the forest and I kinda forgot..."

"It's fine." He released my arms.

I walked forward and knelt down in front of the body of the worm. I removed my sunglasses again and examined it, but made sure not to touch it. My forehead wrinkled. "I've never seen something like this before..." I looked up. "What is this thing?"

Frederick

Adam didn't answer Alyssa's question. I glared at him expectantly. He shuffled his feet and remained silent. My gaze turned to the giant worm, laying, burnt on the ground. Adam drenched it and the fire in water.

"What is your problem!" I yelled. "We are fricking stranded on this island and you wont do crap to help us!" I screamed. Adam turned, with tears in his eyes.

"You don't understand.." He began. We all look at him, waiting for an answer.

Adam was standing there, tears flowing down his cheeks. This girl was causing him great pain, and I couldn't stop it!

Adam! I cried with my thoughts. Then the sudden realisation hit me.

You must stay here, and help from afar. He had said. I looked at him, how was I supposed to fix this? I concentrated, I focused souly on my emotions. Weaving them into words. Soothing, calming, relaxing, worry-free. I thought these emotions, and sent them into the minds of the humans. It drained me of my energy, to project myself to that many people, and people I didn't know.

I watched their faces relax, and Adam stopped the flow of tears running down his cheeks. The were alot calmer, but they had not forgotten of their interrogation.
Mo. was here. :) mwahahaha

Okay, so Adam definitely wasn't on the beach. But I guess I can work with it.

Adam

He had come sprinting back at the sound of the worm breaking through the earth. He drenched the fire to avoid attracting the entire swarm.

Adam stopped the tears that were running down his cheeks. He only wondered for a moment why his emotions were so strange lately. Usually he was so collected...

"You don't understand." he said once he had regained his composure, making sure his voice carried all the authority he held as an ex-guardian.

"What don't we understand?!" the angry boy yelled. "I think I understand pretty well how stranded we are, and how useless we will be if we can't even light a stupid fire!"

Adam grabbed the boy by the collar of his shirt and lifted him from the ground. "This place is not your playground." he growled. "Things happen here that don't happen in your pathetic human world. You play by the rules of Atlantis, or you lose."

He let the boy fall back to the ground and began walking towards the forest. He turned back a few steps away and looked the boy in the eyes. "And you do not want to lose."

Adam ran back into the forest. Luckily, he met Asavari easily this time. She ran to him, but stopped a few steps away. He could see in her eyes she wanted to comfort him; she wanted to do something to help.

"Adam..." she said.

He stepped towards her. They were less than an arms length apart, something nearly unheard of in Atlantian society. Men and women were barely allowed to look at eachother until marriage. "I fear this will soon become more than we can handle. That worm. We haven't seen anything like that on the island in centuries. I had begun to imagine the magic was dying out of the island."

"But what can we do? My mother and I are hardly aquanted with the Atlantian city any more. And you..." she trailed off, knowing Adam didn't wish to think back on his time in the city.

Adam took Asavari's hand. "I need you to take me to your mother." he said. He only hoped the woman who knew nearly everything would forget his misdoings in the city and agree to help.

*hope that was all okay*

Adam took my hand. "You have to take me to your mother". He said sternly. A tear rolled down my cheek, lately I felt like I could fall apart at any moment.

How would my mother react? What if she saw Adam and me together? I blushed at the last thought.

As we walked deep into the trees, a million things ran through my mind. I looked at Adam. I didn't think about how good he looked shirtless. I didn't think about how his hair shined in the light. I didn't think about how perfect he looked when he smiled. I didn't think about how warm his hand felt against mine. Well, at least not much.
