"This site is dedicated to destroying the large fanbase of 'Twilight'"

This is the mission statement of the linked site. After going to such great lengths here to assure our resident Twilight fans that we are NOT bashing Meyer, we should not be linking to sites that do just that. The site uses the term "Twihard" to describe the fans, and while I myself use the phrase "Twifan", it doesn't have the slightly negative sexual connotation that "Twihard" does. Planning to publicly deface movie posters at the theatres is not only immature, it's technically vandalism. I enjoy debating the weaknesses in Twilight, but why would any self-respecting Anti go searching for fansites to troll? Really, people, we should be better than that!

Bottom line, "Team Dracula" is juvenile and disrespectful, and as an intelligent anti-Twilighter, I do not agree with their tactics. We can dislike the book all we want, but just because we think Meyer's writing is bad does not give us the right to be rude.

Yes, Jack-a-Lynn you're right. I was just taking the paragraph with that many glistening stuff. I do not mean to disrespect the books nor the author. I think I've made clear many times, that I'm a fan.

Why THANK you GreenGiraffe!
Now I'm going to be fighting a never-ending flame war on this forum when I could be getting advice about writing!
Well, in my defence, I didn't make the idea of graffiting (?) on the movie posters.

Calm down, everyone. I think the reference to the website was just a joke, so you shouldn't take it too seriously. :)

So... who compiled the list?

:D
Your = Possession. Your shoes are so sweet!
You're = Omission. You're quite strange...

If you are confused about which to put, simply say in your mind "you are" and see if that fits the sentence. If not, you are looking for your.

Why is this thread still alive? Didn't everyone make their points a long time ago? Seriously?

Um, I know this thread died a long time ago, but, I'd like to bring up a point/question:
Why is it that all the human males who crush on Bella (i.e. Mike) are viewed as repulsive, and ick. I mean, what?
Surely this is what has caused the thing of 'girls just wanna have Eddie/Jake'; not that they are perfect, perfect entities, but that the humans, the normal humans, are all a bunch of creeps.

Personally, I think that the only happy-ever-after that could really happen is that of Ben and Angela, the minorities of the book series. But they aren't given any space to show that they are a great match and happy, oh no, it just goes on about how Edward+Bella=Happiness and Rainbows!

So, to any Twifans, why is Mike so repulsive? Seriously, I don't get it.
This guy is so evil you could put him in between two slices of bread and call him an evil sandwich.

Coming at you like a jetpack Shakespeare.

Mike IS kind of pathetic, but he's not really that bad. I don't get it either.

The thing that annoys me the most about twilight is the huge plot hole inconsistencies, Edward can stop himself from eating her but can't resist the temptation to have sex with her? Means he's either really really horny or he played up how hard it was not eating her in some pathetic attempt at flirting.
Also SM says that Bella's veins close when she becomes a vampire, so that means that blood can't flow. So why is it Edward can get horny since that is testosterone pumped from the testes to the brain and how can he... get his soldier to stand to attention in the first place if there's no blood flow. Also i wonder if that means that you would have constant wood if you were turned into a sparkly vamp while aroused since it would have the same effect as viagra? Puzzling philosophical quandaries for all Twifans to consider.

Twilight... Well. What scan I say? I think that how I was introduced to twilight is as good as any a way to begin.

I live in a relitively closed enviornment, with only a small group of people I enteract with at any one time. When, sometime last year, our small school's principal stepped into the room and waved Breaking Dawn in our faces, five people stood up and ran for the door. As we were crossing the courtyard for break, my friend said to the air "Man, if she dosen't turn into a vampire, I'm gonna kill someone." I said, "Oh, is that that book about vampires then?" She gave me a look that said 'where have you been, under a rock?' And maybe I had, because every person of the female persuasion (except the rare few) in the school was loopy with Twilight fever.

So I borrowed a copy off my friend, to see what all the fuss was about... and caught the bug. I loved Twilight, and although I admitted that it was no Lord of the Rings, I still read it over and over, although not New Moon so much, because it didn't have dear Eddiekinz in it, and what was the point without Eddiekinz? Then I watched the movie, and saw something else: the Twilight that others saw, and not the Twilight I had in my head. That planted the seed of doubt.

After that, I went to camp for three weeks and got my head on straight. I read The Host, also by Stephanie Myer, and realized "Hey! This woman can actually write decent stories if they didn't come to her in a dream!" And that's when Twilight lost all it's amazingness. Because you see, sometimes dreams can yield amazing stories... and sometimes they are so wierd that they should stay in your head. Ms. Myer should have known that when the so called "Vampire" began to sparkle, and declare his love for a girl that looks strangely like a skinnier version of the author, well... she should have known what kind of stoy this would be.

However, I do agree on the original point, that it was geared for young girls. But I think that the author could have at least tried to flesh out her characters a little. The sad thing is I do think she tried. Look at Edward's background. She made the effort at least. But when you compare it to the charaters in her other book outside the Twilight series? Well, she obviously wasn't trying hard enough. I get the feeling that this is turning into a rant (or has been), so I'll stop here.

As for Eragon... Well, as a loyal fan, I must hope it turns out better than I fear.

.....And NOW I finish reading the whole discussion. Man, do I feel silly for putting in something like that at random. Heh.

But this is ineteresting, and I do think that the anti-twilighters have a point. I'm proud to count myself among those who dislike the book.

The Host by SM was way better than Twilight, in my opinion. I do like Twilight, don't get me wrong, but The Host was better. The movie Eragon was better than the Twilight movie, but I think that only because I like dragons, and people fighting on dragons.
