Ashlyn

"Sonnet," she said into the earpiece. "How are you?"

"Erm, great. Broke the microwave," she replied, guiltly.

"Right," Ashlyn responded. "So are we still on for the fair later."

"Of course," Sonnet told her. "Mikael coming?"

"Hopefully. I hate feeling like a third wheel when I go out with you and Quinn," she sighed.

"Ashlyn don't be ridiculous," she started.

"Yeah, yeah," Ashlyn smiled, softly.

"Oh!" Sonnet said suddenly. "It could be like a double date!"

"Now you don't be ridiculous," Ashlyn frowned. "Mikael and I are only friends."

"Mmhmm," Sonnet hummed, happily.

"Don't start that, Sonnet," Ashlyn snapped. "He's not interested in me like that. Now I'll ask him if he's coming with us when he gets back."

"Fine," Sonnet huffed. Ashlyn rolled her eyes.

"I'll talk to you later. Bye," Ashlyn laughed.

She had already clicked the phone off before she heard her say bye.

Mikael

I strolled back into the cramped little abode i shared with Ashlyn, laden down with a weeks worth of food and drink.
"Hey let me give you a hand with that." Came Ashlyns voice, quickly followed by my burden being lightened.
"Thanks," i smiled. I'd been doing that a lot lately. I never smiled. It often confused how Ashlyn had managed to breakdown all the walls i had put up between me and the world.
"Are you sure you got everything?" She asked neatly stacking tins in the cupboard. "Wheres the beans?"
"Here," i replied sliding them accross the counter. "So what have you been doing while i was out doing all the heavy lifting?" I joked. To any outsider it would look like a homely scene. To us it was our last bastion. Our own little fortress of solitude.
"Actually i was on the phone with Quin and Sonnet. Their going to the fair later. Do you want to come with?" I looked at her one eyebrow cocked, trying to work out if there were any strings attached to this offer.
"Come on please. You know how i much i hate being the third wheel with those two being all lovey dovey all the time."
"Alright. No need for the guilt trip." I smiled. "I'll come with but only if i can wear what i like."
"Oh come on won't you look a little suspicious in a trenchcoat and shades at this time of year." My chosen attire had been a bone of contention for a while now. "Why don't you where that t shirt i got you the other day." I stood deliberating for a moment.
"Ok then, i suppose so." I spoke in a defeated tone, deliberately playing it up.
"Your SO difficult sometimes." I couldn't help the snigger that escaped but when i turned and saw her stood hands on her hips i broke down.
"You know if i wasn't your friend i would have killed you by now." She laughed. As she laughed i felt an odd fuzzy warm feeling.
Oh dear, i thought, i think i like her.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

"If anyone could find a way to kill me it would be you Ashlyn," Mikael grinned. He looked a little funny.

Ashlyn rolled her eyes. "I'll finish putting away this stuff then I need to get in the showe," she told him.

Mikael nodded. "Go on. I'll finish," he told her.

"Thanks," Ashlyn smiled.

She grabbed a towel and a change of clothes and headed for the bathroom. She hoped she remembered to turn on the water heater. It became a little difficult to pay the bills sometimes. Of course, she could use her mind control and insist that they had paid the bills...but the would be impossible. Ashlyn was trying to sty in hiding. It wasn't a good thing that people knew what she could do.

April Mayberry~~

The green light shed a remarkable form of light over every vibrant color of the green house. The typical old garden roses thorns shone with the light of the new day, all of the plant's dew was shone like miniature diamonds on the tips of the rows of Arenga pinnata who had taken up residence. The large oak had taken up the center however, boasting the green house's high cealings. Arpil's body could be seen high above, looped throughout the branches, her body seemed to be in what may be considered a basket of sorts. The green lightglared against April's eyelids and she opened her eyes slowly, her green eyes glowing the with what could be excitement. She was currently staying in an old unused greenhouse (she had fixed it up herself) and the house that connected to it was currently being used also, as of last night.
April got up and curtsied to the oak, it did a bowing motion in return with it's largest limb and she giggled a thankyou in reply. April's pack was borught to her by the nearest large vine, she petted it then laughed again.

She always preferred plants over people.

he soon changed from her pjs to her newly acquired clothes (thanks to an unsupecting normal), no she didn't steal them. She borrowed them, its what happenes when you are on the run from the media in a bathrobe. She slipped on the blue jean shorts and wiggled into the comfy "all the rage" white v neck. She din't put shoes on because she only wore them infront of crowds. She padded across the plant covered floor, plants moving out of her way as she wandered. She was stopped with a vine across her path.

"What's the matter?" She bent down and petted the vine, "I'll come back, I wanna go meet the newb is all." The vine picked it self up and rubbed, a bit of oil on her neck, it was rose. She giggled and walked out of the door, and towards the house. The red sports car was still in the driveway and she skipped up to the front.

The doll like girl knocked on the door.

*thats for Evan Lauren!*

Evan

A knock came on the door. Was Evan already being followed? Did someone actually live in this abandoned house?

Evan wished he could change from fire into something calmer. Thoughts of air flashed through his mind, but he pushed them away. That power couldn't be used anymore.

There was a window that Evan could see the front step from, so he went and peered out. A small girl stood at the door, she looked almost like a doll. She couldn't be much trouble.

Evan went and opened the door. "How may I help you?" he asked, leaning against the doorframe. He had to admit, he felt hot. Only a side effect of being in tune with fire.

(just ingore the phone call in my last post)

Schuyler

With another flick of her wrist, the last of the paparazzi flew across the front lawn and into a tree. Schuyler really hadn't wanted to use her power, but desperate times called for desperate measures. So she had done exactly what Maggie had suggested.

"Haha this is too great! Wait till mom hears about this!" Maggie grinned from the front door,"You're gonna be grounded for weeks!" Schuyler sighed. She hadn't thought about the consequences. She rarely did. "And just imagine when the news gets wind of this......you'll be jailed in a second, like all you freaks should be," Maggie dialed something on her cell phone.

"Maggie, what are you doing?" Schuyler looked at her step sister with mortification. She made a grab for the phone and missed."MAGGIE!!"

"Oh hush!" Maggie swatted Schuylers panicy hands,"Hello?" The person she'd been calling picked up on the other line."Yes, I'd like to report an assault."

That was it, Schuyler panicked. Her hands instictively flew up and Maggie was thrown backwards, down the hall, and into the bathroom at the end. It sounded exactly like a cannon going off. The phone fell at Schuylers feet.

"Miss are you there?"The operater echoed again and again.

Schuyler picked it up eyes wide. When she spoke her voice was distant,"I'm afraid there's been a misunderstanding." Click. The phone was off and she chucked it on the front lawn as she turned and made her way shakily down the road. She remembered something about a fair tonight. Yeah, a fair sounded good.

She passed a house with a sleak red car in the drive way and could of sworn someone was shouting at her.

**I think that's Evan's house with Lizzifer's character there too**

**And im sorry this is so rushed**

April~~

A red haired boy opened the door to April, his hiar seemed to be the color of raging fire.

"Hi there!" April Chirped, she decided against the fact to tell him that they were neighbors. The guy looked her over with his strange colored eyes with a hint of not trusting. Then he grinned.

"Hi," He smirked.

"I live near here and was wondering if you needed a tour, since you obviously just moved in," The orange haired boy looked at her then down the street both ways, no houses in sight. He looked her over again, April smiled back. Then looked to where he was looking. Three media cars were speeding towards them at hyper speed.

"Shit," He whispered and dragged April into the house quickly.

April smiled wide, so they had found her again. She looked at the guy, he looked like he was pissed off. He shut the blinds and gathered his things recently set out. News crews outside could be heard setting up, and talking.

"She wouldn't be in the house she would be in the green house," A camera man could be heard commenting.

"Are you sure? Theres a sports car out here, it looks like the element guys one." another commented.

They could be heard rushing around to the other side of the house, their stuff clanking.

"Who are you?" They both whispered to eachother at the same time.

"April," The doll girl answered, "And we need to get out of here." April felt her pets calling to her in warning. There was a forrest next to them she could totally...

"Are you April Fucking Mayberry?" His voice was harsh.

"Maybe," She opened the front door, like she thought everyone was in the back, "Come on!"
They both made a run for it, April running ahead to the trees thier limbs already reaching for her.
She coud feel the other guys breath on her neck. The trees formed a brige above the gorund, they both bot higher and higher. A familar car was seen on the road beside them.

"Sky!" April cried as she slid down one of the branches into the back seat for all the windows were open, the red head followed.

"Fancy seeing you here darling," April laughed towards her friend, "Our run was quite boring."

*can anyone put me in

Lyka

It has been a while since Lyka walked out on the neighborhood. She walked with her sister and no one had suspected them of freaks like the rest of the so-called freaks of the college. She was kept hidden away from the students while Iclisa was so shy that no one even noticed ehr.

They were liked normal people for now. Lyka went to a nearby pawn shop and traded all the family's jewelry for some just in case we need to leave to find a new house. Just in safe terms, Lyka did not took the wife's ring.

"There you go, sis, we have money for the fair." lyka said.

"Iclisa..." someone called them as they ehaded for teh afir.
both Lyka and Iclisa looked across the road and Iclisa's face widen.
"Sonnet..." Lka heard ehr sister's voice. They went to the other sie of the road and gave each otehr a hug.

Beside the girl called, Sonnet was a guy whom she did not bother to look.

"Iclisa, it ahs been a while. How are you?" Sonnet said.
"I-I'm fine."
"STill shy aren't you?" Sonnet grinned before she looked at me. "Hi, are you her friend?"
"Sister..." Iclisa said
"Sister, i never realized that Iclisa has a sister. Hi, i'm Sonnet and this is QUin..." Quin greeted and i nodded firmly before i shook her hand grinning myself secretly.
When i let go, my hand felt good and smooth.
"So are you to the fair?" Sonnet said and Iclisa nodded. AFterwhich we headed to the fair.
John McClane: Drop it. It's the police.
Tony: You won't hurt me.
John McClane: Oh, yeah? Why not?
Tony: Because you're a policeman. There are rules for policemen.
John McClane: Yeah. That's what my captain keeps telling me

Evan

This April girl was insane. Evan shook his head, he hadn't even been given a chance to gather his things.

"I can't believe this." Evan muttered.

April turned to him. "Can't you?"

"No, I can't." Evan shot back. "I would have been just fine if you hadn't shown up."

"Well I assume they were after you as well, if you are the 'elemental one'. Who are you anyways?" April asked.

"Evan Lane, at your service." Evan said, relaxing and resting his arm on the back of the seat. Why did fire always make him so goddamn cocky? He gave April a charming smile.

"Well I'm glad to at least know the name of the guy riding in the backseat of my car." the person driving said.

Evan nodded his head. "Yeah? And who are you?"

Schuyler

Schuyler cocked an eyebrow and grinned. Man, this guy was cocky."Schuyler,"She answered then threw a glance at April, who just waved merrily with a smile. Was this guy April's...boyfriend? If he was she sure hoped he didn't know her from any magazinea about freaks.

"Well, Schuyler," Her name rolled off his tongue with a zest that she was almost positive it never had."I suggest you get a move on before we have some unexpected visitors..."His gaze matched hers.

"Oooh! We should go to the fair!" April chimed. Both of them glanced at her.

"First I'd like to know who the hell these visitors are."Sky's voice was stubborn. Evan gave her a sideways smirk and she felt a tickle in her stomach. That's never happened before. For the first time she noticed his eyes.....they looked familiar.

"Camera men, paparazzi, the usual." He grinned and she shot a questioning look at April who nodded encouragingly.

She sighed,"Fine, the fair it is."

Hi everyone.
I've been away for a week and it kills me that I haven't been here when things started up but never mind.

Quin

Quin looked down at the microwave. A light waft of smoke billowed from the side and various bits of metal lay broken on the tiled floor below.

"What did you do to it?" he laughed.

Sonnet popped her head out of the bathroom door "It wouldn't switch on, so I thought you had to light it or something."

"Light it? You set it on fire?"

Her face blushed a deep scarlet "I told you I didn't cook when we moved in."

"Yeah but I didn't think it was that bad"

A hair brush flew through out of the bathroom, narrowly missing Quin's head and bashing into the fridge.

"Right, you're in for it now!" laughed Quin "First the microwave, now the fridge! What's next, the blender?"

He opened the door to the bathroom and tackled Sonnet to the ground.

"Ahh, my hair!" she yelled "You're gonna screw it up!"

Quin stopped and looked down at her properly. They'd been living in there pajamas for the last week, moving boxes and rearranging furniture, so it was a shock when Quin saw Sonnet dressed and doing her hair.

"You're dressed?"

Sonnet raised her eyebrows "The fair remember? Double date?"

"Now get dressed, we've got to go in a hour."

Quin groaned. He liked fairs, he even liked Sonnet's friends. He just didn't like the media attention, the constant phone calls and cash offers for interviews with the Sunday Times. What was worse was that it almost impossible to shift outside now, unless you wanted to be on the news anyway.

*So maybe the fair next?

Mikael

Ashlyn wandered into the next room closely followed by the sound of the heater being turned on. I turned on the TV while i unpacked the bags of food. The news was filled with what had become the usual. Gifted people or Mutants as we were becoming known being hounded by paparazzi, some fought back, others hid, most just kept running. The news finished with a series of freak deaths believed to be related to a group of mutants in Dakota.
"Mikael can you pass me a towel?" Came Ashlyns voice from the bathroom. I quickly tossed one in, resisting the urge to grab a cheeky glance. While Ahslyn was getting dressed i chucked my coat and shades into a forgotten corner and pulled on the t shirt Ashlyn had brought me.
"Come on Ashlyn the fair will be over soon." I laughed.
"Alright i'm coming." She replied. She wandered out of her room looking lovely. "I look a mess." She complained.
"Thats a lie and you know it now come on lets go. Are we taking my ride or yours?"
"I think will take the car. Your motorbike is a little conspicuous don't you think?"
"Oh alright then but im driving." I smirked grabbing the keys and heading for the parking.
"Hey no fair!" SHouted Ashlyn locking the door and chasing after me.

April~~

April fumbled into the front seat, noticing that her feet were still bare.

"So Mr. Lane," April said as she got comfortable in the front seat, "What can you do?"

"Multiple things," His smirk growing wider.

This guy was strange, most likely stranger than her and that was hard to beat. she shrugged it off though, thinking of where they could go next.

"Theres a hotel in the town that mutant owns, we could probably bunk there for free," Sky offered.

"I would have been fine if it wasn't for her," Evan commented.

They drove slowly into the town, April's eyes making little contact with the others outside except when they did she smiled. April was uncomfortable, towns made her uneasy, no help from forests or larger than life plants. She could fix the last part, but that wouldn't do her good in a town like this.

"There," Sky pointed to a luxurious looking building and pulled in to her own self made parking spot.

~~

"Isn't this fun?" April mused as she slipped into the comfy black keds the hotel had so graciously found for her. She began to skip about the room, Evan was sprawled about on the bed and sky was in the bathroom. The guy who owned the hotel had exceptional people skills, most ikely too exceptional. They had received free board, free clothing and the best of free food. April was smiling wide, she loved free things.

Ashlyn

Of course Mikael beat me to the car. I rolled my eyes and just tried to enjoy the ride. Mikael drove too fast for my taste.

Sonnet and Quin were already there. Sonnet grinned at me and Mikael and waved her hand furiously.

Ashlyn laughed and ran towards her to give her a hug. "It's been forever since we've seen each other!"

Sonnet nodded and smiled. Quin nodded. "Never been on a double date."

Ashlyn sighed, but it didn't appear that Mikael heard. "It's not a double date," she replied, hands on her hips. She glared at Sonnet. She knew Mikael didn't think of her like that. Ashlyn thought that she liked him...but it was all so complicated after Tarrgon was never opened again.

Then, as if on cue, the paparazzi was out and surrounding us. Ashlyn groaned and turned toawrds the others annoyed.

"Let me try something," she told the others. She had never controled so many minds before.

Ashlyn felt all their engeries and thoughts around her. She willed them to forget what they came for and to go back home. To leave everyone alone. About half of them left.

"Oh come on!" She yelled. It always happened this way. She couldn't control much more than that.

Angrily she made the rest of them leave.

"Ready to go?" She asked, platering a smile on her face even though she was still upset.

** sorry for the lack of posts! I didn't know where to come in.. but, aha, the fair!**

Abbey Smith

"Excuse me, miss are you-?"

Abbey turned to see a young man standing stock-till, staring at her, mouths agape. She forced herself to smile and looked directly at him. There's never any bloomin' peace for me anymore, she thought. So much for just nipping out to grab a few things from the local supermarket.

"The best thing you've ever laid eyes on?" she laughed. "I could be. You never know. Or I could be just a totally average person."

The interest faded from his eyes and he glanced down. "Oh." With that he turned and walked away.

Abbey looked away and pushed out a short sigh. The weak-willed were so boring. She liked a struggle, but lately everyone just succumbed to her charm. It was the same with the people passing, giving her curious looks. One glance and they thought she was average, ordinary, dull.

I'm not, she thought grumpily.

Someone bumped into her, muttered a quick apology, and went off on their way. He was almost gone when Abbey got to her feet.

"Excuse me!" she called to them. They wouldn't get away with being so rude to her. "Sir - you ... you dropped..." she glanced down at the pavement and spotted a steaming dog's present left there among the grey blobs of chewing-gum. "Your dog's-"

She didn't even finish. This one was weak, used to bending under a woman's charm. Huh, no wonder he didn't last long under hers. he bent down and scooped it into his hand, tipping an invisible hat to her as he continued on his way, parting the crowd like he was Moses or something.

Serves you right.

Abbey sighed again.

"Here's you coffee-to-go, miss!" an eager boy interrupted her pressing sense of gloom. She remembered she'd sent him off for one with nothing more than a fluttering of her eyelashes.

"Thanks." She took it from him.

"Will you be going to the fair? It'll be starting soon - you should go! Tell you what, why don't I come too? We could have a good time. Enjoy ourselves. Then-"

"Thanks, but no thanks." She then added: "My brother'll be meeting me here soon. I don't want to miss him. You go run along now."

He was gone.

It didn't matter, Wes was heading towards her, inching his way through the crowd. "Ab, have you been..."

"No, course I haven't, Wes. It's wrong to bend people to your will," she lied smoothly. Still, he didn't look too convinced. "So where's the surprise, Wes?" she looked to see if he was hiding something behind his back. He wasn't.

"Actually, I was gonna take you to the fare-"

"Oh! Not you too!"

"Huh? Don't you want to go?"

"I - I do - I don't - I... Okay, then. We'll go. Happy?" Funny how she was he one with the gift, but Wes could always make her do what he wanted. So, Abbey found herself going to the fair.

**Sorry for the length. Thinking she could bump into others there...**
