Vasha- zombie

Vasha bit her lip. She hadn't meant to make Simon feel bad...

"She, uh, doesn't seem like your friend anyways. I'm sorry about jumping to conclusions; it wasn't fair to you."

"Mm." The vampire didn't look up.

"Uh, if you don't mind... what elemental power does Brystine have? And what do you mean, you know what that's like?"

Simon

Simon looked towards Vasha and raised an eyebrow. "What do you think it is?" He asked.

"Fire?" She replied. Simon nodded.

"And as for your last question...well, let's just say Brystine had quite a lot to do with Molly," he sighed.

"That human freind of yours?" She asked, interested a little "What did she do?"

"What demons do best. She freaked out Molly and lead her straight to Jason. Brystine watched when I...she didn't even try to stop me," Simon retorted angrily.

"She was only a human," Brystine suddenly laughed. He turned to glare at her.

"Yeah, a human. Aren't we all a little human ourselves?" Simon spat.

"God I hope not," Brystine responded chuckling softly.

Simon shook his head a little and turned back to Vasha. "Demons...probably the one species I can't relate to..." he told her.

Vasha

Vasha growled a little at Brystine. "I was human until I was nine. My parents are human." She decided that she didn't like the demoness.

"Oh? That explains so much." Brystine looked like she was about to start laughing.

The zombie suddenly snarled, half rising from her seat.

"Vasha..." Simon grabbed her arm. She did NOT want to cross Brystine.

"You do NOT insult my parents," she growled, eyes burning brighter.

Brystine

"Is that right, zombie?" Brystine asked. "Only saying they were only human."

"I think you should think about what you say before you say it...otherwise you might end up in a sticky situation," the zombie snarled.

"Vasha! Please sit back down," Simon practically begged. "And Brystine why don't you follow her advise. Mind your own buisness."

Brystine grinned. "Perhaps you have a point...then again I wouldn't want to listen to a murderer...or someone who came from humans," she laughed as Vasha's eye glowed brighter.

She didn't really have a problem with humans, still this was fun. Brystine was starting to enjoy hersef.

"C'mon zombie girl...Vasha right?" Brystine asked. "Did you have anything you wanted to say to me and are you just going to glare?"

"You don't want to cross me demon," Vasha snarled. "Who know nothing. You haven't the first idea of what you're talking about."

Brystine grinned maliciously. "Be that as it may, it hasn't stopped me before."

((Oh, sorry about that. I thought August was finishing his trig homework due today. Oh well. It can be another class if you want. Just not English or chemistry.))

Cassi-- Werewolf

Entertain me. I stared at the words for three or four seconds, trying to grasp their meaning, before turning my head to look at him. He was still watching me, I noted, with an amused look on his face. I raised an eyebrow in a quizzical fashion, but his face did not change, giving me no indication of what he meant. I turned back to face the front, ignoring the teacher completely for the first time I could remember, and picked up my pencil. It took me a few moments to decide what to write back, then I scribbled,

I thought demons did a fairly good job of entertaining themselves.

I discreetly slipped the paper back to him, still facing the front, and watched him out of the corner of my eye. He read the note quickly, and a smirk broke out on his face. He glanced briefly at me, smirking wider, before picking up his pencil and writing back.
Please help spread the word about the New YWS Transition by including the following in your sig:

From August 17 to 24, YWS will be down. See this for more info!

And don't forget to register at the backup site

Are we all possibly characters in someone else's novel?

Vasha

Simon gave her a pleading look, but Vasha had eyes only for the demon. "That's obvious, considering the drivel that's been streaming from your mouth."

Brystine chuckled and got to her feet. "Come on then. I've heard that humans are all talk; let's see if you kept that from being one of them, zombie-girl."

Vasha, who'd already had a trying day, lunged at Brystine.

Brystine

Fire erupted all around her. Brystine laughed, happily and the flames traveled up her arms, legs and into her hair, the flames creating patterns.

"Doesn't it take zombies a while to heal?" Brystine asked, innocently. "So if the fire just happened to envelop you that would...oh that wouldn't be too good would it?"

"Vasha!" Another voice called. "You don't understand Brystine...she's different. You're the main event in her game. Don't let her play you like this."

"Do you like my fire?" Brystine asked, shooting tendrils of flames towards her. "Yes. This is my elemental gift. I rather enjoy it. Don't you?"

Brystine looked straight into Vasha's own fiery orange eyes. Brystine knew she had truely made this zombie mad. She grinned as her red blonde hair swirled wildly around her face. This sounded like fun.

Gwen Ackerman

I walked to class with Rashid, still a bit tense after the incident that almost happened right in front of me. Lexi seemed really nice, and the Werewolves were supposed to have been peacekeepers, how could they have been so rude?

"Want to share a desk?" Rashid asked me, taking me away from my thoughts. Snapping back into I noticed that we had arrived in our class, Social Sciences, I believed. The desks were in pairs.

"Sure" I said, quite pleased. I mean, who else would I sit with?

Vasha

Don't let her play you like this... The words echoed in the zombie's ears, just so much meaningless noise in the background.

Vasha watched the flames only for a second, too far gone to care about them. With another savage snarl she half-jumped, half-climbed over her desk to get at Brystine.

The demon laughed. A thin stream of flame flicked towards Vasha's face, slashing whiplike across her cheek. She pulled back instinctively. Zombies might not be able to feel pain, but they were still afraid of fire; the heat, the light, the destruction... For a brief instant, she wondered if it had left a mark.

Brystine looked almost disappointed. "Dropping out so soon? But we've only just-"

Vasha snarled again and latched herself onto her assailant's arm. Her bite couldn't do too much harm to a demon, but it would hurt like nothing else.

Rashid

Rashid beamed and pulled out a chair for her. "I wonder what we're going to learn about today? I'm a bit excited. Social sciences is always interesting. People are some of the most fascinating things you can learn about anyways."

Gwen smiled.

Rashid's face suddenly fell. "You didn't think I hurt that demon's feelings did you? I didn't want her to think I was prejudiced against her or anything, but I've had problems with a lot of their kind in the past. That doesn't mean that she couldn't be a perfectly lovely person-"

"Problems?" Gwen asked, a little timidly. "What kind of problems?"

"Oh..." His face reddened. "You know, just stuff like them pulling pranks on me. A lot of them like picking on alans, and nerds, and since I happen to be both, well. There you go. I remember one time an earth demon and a water demon turned the ground to quicksand in front of my dormitory door. Took forever to get out of that mess. Now if I'd looked where I was going before I stepped out there maybe I wouldn't have had that problem, but what sort of life is that, having to check over your shoulder every three seconds because you're afraid someone bigger and more powerful than you is gonna pull a fast one on you? Not much of one, that's what I think."

"I agree, Rashid" I told him, giving him a reassuring smile. And then a thought came to me, "Rashid, you watch my back and I watch your's?"

"Right" he told me.

Brystine

The zombie bit her! Brystine had to admit, that didn't feel too good. She was slipping up. How could she let the zombie actually get a hold on her.

Brystine temper flared and the flames rose, her arms growing hotter as the flames came to defend her. She smiled at them.

Vasha let go and bounced away. "Are you going to bit me?" Bystine chuckled. "You are as pathetic as a human!"

Vasha looked for a way inside her barrier of fire.

"Enough!" Simon roared. "That. Is. Enough."

"Aw, Simon you can join in if you want," she smiled encouragingly. "The more the merrier."

"No. Brystine. That's enough of your games," he replied, glaring. "There is no need for all of this."

Vasha

Vasha pulled back with a hiss, hand going to her mouth. There were going to be some burns, that was certain, but it would heal. It'd take forever, but it'd heal.

The flames built up into a ring around the demon, and Vasha began pacing back and forth, like a dog at the base of a squirrel's tree.

She barely registered the raised voice coming from behind her. Simon was yelling at Bristine, apparently about her taunting, but again she was too angry to think about it.

A hand closed around her upper arm. "She's not worth it, come on," came the vampire's voice.

The zombie turned on him with a snarl, about to wrench herself out of his grasp, but then he spoke again. "Vasha, drop it."

She started to relax a little, the anger in her face falling away in small incriments.

Brystine frowned.

Lexi

I turned to see a young alan.

"Sure, you can sit here," I said, smiling politely.

No sooner had they sat down than in the next room there was muffled angrry voices and laughter.

I got up and so did several others, including the little alan.

"No. You've got to stay here," I told him, pushing him back into the seat.

We ran next door to see a zombie girl and a demon fighting. Just before she engulfed her self in some flaming element power, I saw the demon was indeed Brystine. Anger flared in the pit of my stomach like the fire that surrounded her.

The zombie tore away from her eventually, after someone wrenched her away and made her calm down.

But Brystine frowned. She was clearly not done with her.

"You're backing out now?" she chuckled. "Just what I'd expect from a zombie!"

She hurled a huge flame at the zombie's back. Without thinking, I sprinted across the room and knocked her out of the way before getting hit myself.

****Sorry it's taken me so long****

*Marlie*

I looked from my schedule, from the map that Maria drew me, to the room in front of me. It said Trig over it, which made me breathe a sigh of relief. I'd finally found it. I knew I was going to be super late, but me being the stubborn person that I am, I didn't ask for directions. Now, I would face the consequences.

As I reached for the door, I was wondering why vampires needed Trigonometry to survive. I had never heard of a vampire mathematician.

I opened the door and stared straight ahead, but I still felt everyone's eyes on me. I blushed slightly, but steeled myself as I looked at the teacher, who looked like she wanted to kill me.

"Take any empty seat that you can find." she said angrily. I nodded and scanned the crowed, and when I saw who was in there, my heart ceased to beat (ha ha).

August was in here, and was staring at me with those piercing blue eyes. And then, when I pulled my eyes from his, I saw that the only empty seat in the class room was diagonally in front of him. I tried to ignore those eyes as I sat down and tried to focus on the class.

Why did his eyes have to be so beautiful?
We're all a bit mad...
