(Man, college is starting to run me ragged. After my last post at 12:00 yesterday I spent the next ten hours in the computer lab. The first two hours were spent on finishing up one project that was due that day, and the next eight on another project that's due in a few weeks. Given the immense size of the project, eight hours probably wasn't even enough. We had to create a giant space portal in 3D, and now we're texturing it. The eight hours I put into it last night was just on one texture alone, and I only got less than a third of it done in that time span. Granted, it's a pretty big texture, but you get the idea. Anyway, that's why I didn't post any more of the story that night.)
"The Tsurekin Agent attacked you?" Ivy asked, a little shocked.
Skylar nodded. "Half way through the fight Kai and Ryukin managed to perform Soul Fusion and defeated it."
Ivy smiled at that. "I knew he would be able to do it."
Kai landed in front of the mansion a few moments later. Skylar immediately went to his side. "Are you all right?" she asked.
"I am fine," he said. "I managed to lead the police down to the docks before coming back."
"It seems all your hard training has finally paid off, Kai," Ivy said.
"Kai... Strange, that name doesn't feel right when I'm in this form."
"What do you mean?" Skylar asked.
"Kai is only half of who I am, and Ryukin the other. Being called by just one of those two names doesn't feel right."
"That's understandable," Ivy said. "Soul Fusion fuses the bodies and minds of the Tsurekin and his master. Both the minds of Kai and Ryukin are stored within you, but can only be conveyed through one consciousness. It was the same when Akira and I learned how to perform Soul Fusion with our Tsurekin. To solve this problem, we simply gave ourselves new names whenever we fused."
"And what are those names?" Skylar asked.
"Sahara and I are called Memphis, and Akira and Mirage are Shaira."
"What should I call myself?" Kai asked.
"How about Shinryu?"
Kai thought about it, then nodded. "Yes, that name feels right. Whenever I'm in this form, that's what my name will be."

"We need to head back to the mansion now. It won't be long before they try and track us here." Ivy said. Everyone moved into action getting all of their things together and put in the cars.
(I'm in a multimedia 3D animation program, but I'm leaning more toward the design aspect rather than the animation. As my program coordinator put it, animation is the sexiest job in the 3D industry, but at the same time its the most difficult. Here's an example, last semester our final animation project was to animate a 15 second long scene. It took me about three weeks to animate just that 15 seconds, and the quality was sub-par at best for that amount of work I put it. It's a really taxing job, so I'm going to be the guy who creates things in 3D rather than make them move.)
Kai and Ryukin turned back to normal before getting into one of the cars and driving back to the mansion. Shigure and Ty went to their rooms while Kai and Skylar went to theirs.
Before Kai and Skylar retreated to their own rooms, Kai said, "I had a really good time tonight, up until when that Tsurekin Agent showed up that is. We should go out again sometime." ______________________
"Didn't we pass your room already?" Shigure asked.
"A man must always escort his date safely home," Ty explained.
"We're already inside the mansion."
"The rules of dating specifically say to walk the woman to her door, and in this case it's your room. I don't make the rules." They finally came to Shigure's room. Before parting, Ty said, "So, did you have fun tonight?"
Shigure looked away for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, it was fun."
"Then we should do it again sometime." Ty looked down the hall and said, "Hey Shigure, what's that?"
Shigure looked down the hall, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. "I don't see any-"
Ty planted a quick kiss on Shigure's lips before running off. "I'll see you tomorrow, Shigure!" he called as he ran.
Shigure was frozen solid. Her face began to turn red as she realised she just had her first kiss.

Skylar blushed and smiled. "I think we should too. It was fun. And the Agent just helped strengthen us all. Tala got stronger from the energy it was emmitting and you and Ryukin bonded. So it was a good thing even if it ruined the date."

Ty felt like an idiot and a chicken, but he didn't want to take the chance of getting himself killed if she got mad at him. He walked into his room and Ceder was sitting on his bed.
"How'd it go?" Ceder grinned. "Have you tamed the fiesty lioness?"
"It went fine, and she isn't as bad as y'all think. I rather enjoy being with her." Ty replied. "She's just guarded. We all are in our own way."
Kai smiled back. "Let's hope we aren't interrupted again next time. Goodnight."
"Night."
They both went into their rooms for the night. As Kai got into bed and started to fall asleep, there were two things he couldn't stop thinking about. One, he was finally able to perform Soul Fusion with Ryukin, and two, he kissed Skylar...

(Okay, I think I know what's going on. All our characters are back at the mansion, but you think they're still at the beach house. If you go back to page 33 you'll see we did a time jump ahead one week. During that time jump, our characters had already gone back to the mansion. My guess is I probably didn't make it clear in one of my posts and you got confused and thought they never left the beach house. So just to make things clear, they are in fact back in Ivy's mansion, and not at the beach house. If you could fix your last post, that'd be great.)

Skylar laid in her bed and bit her lower lip. Her mind replayed the kiss and she felt like he was still kissing her. She knew he wasn't, but sometimes her mind played tricks on her. There was nothing wrong with that. She took a deep breath and looked at the ceiling. It had been a good day, she got her first kiss, and Kai achieved an amazing feat. She couldn't wait until she could acheive it too.
"Go to bed, Skylar." Tala said at the foot of the bed.
(I think I caught a cold. It couldn't have come at a worse time. This Monday we have to hand in all our assignments in life drawing in order to get part of our final mark. I'm not even halfway finished yet and I was planning on spending the weekend finishing it all. This cold is going to sap at my mental strength, so I don't know if I'll be able to finish it all in time. Well, I'm not one to give up. Cold or no, I'm going to work my butt off to finish everything.)
The next morning started as it normally did. Everyone woke up and ate breakfast before warming up in the backyard for their morning training. Ivy was a few minutes late to come out that morning. When she finally emerged from the mansion she said, "Skylar, there's someone at the door for you."
"Who is it?" Skylar asked.
"I don't know, but he says he's your father."

Skylar swallowed and looked at Ivy. "It can't be." She said her heart pounding.
"Just go check, ok?" Ivy smiled moving towards the others. Skylar felt like she was going to throw up. If it was really her father...She slowly walked towards the door Tala following her. "Don't let him see Tala unless you have to, please. Unless he already knows."
"Stay here, I'll yell if I need you." Skylar said looking down at Tala. She looked back towards where the others were. She didn't want to go face her dad alone, if it really was him. She hated him. She finally got to the front door and opened it freezing stiff when she saw her dad who quickly wrapped her in a hug. She shoved him away.
"I'm so glad I found you." He smiled.
"What are you doing here?" Skylar demanded her fists clenching at her sides. He didn't budge, his face didn't change.
"I came to get you, sweetie. I've been looking for you for years." He smiled. "Ever sense you disappeared. Why did you run away?"
"I didn't run away! You abandoned me!" She yelled at him anger coursing through her veins, how dare he blame what they did on her. "You left me in an ally sitting on a trash can for two days before the cops found me and took me to Grams. I waited for you, but y'all never showed up."
"We went looking for you. You didn't stay where we told you to." Her father said. "I'm ashamed of what we did. Me and your mom have been clean for years now. WE want you to come stay with us."
"NO!" Skylar growled. "Leave."
"No, you're still our daughter, you need to come with us." He replied his smile was fading but she really didn't care.
**Maybe he could've seen her on tv or something. I don't know. :S **
"Skylar isn't going anywhere," a voice from behind said. Skylar looked over her shoulder and saw Kai.
Skylar's father frowned at him. "She is my daughter, and I'm taking her home with me."
Skylar's blood ran hot with anger. "I'm not going with you! This is my home now. The people here care about me, unlike you and Mom who left your only child out in the cold. I'm not going anywhere, so you can just fuck off!"
Her father's arm extended, slapping Skylar across her face. His own anger was showing now. "I'm your father, you do not speak to me that way!"
Skylar felt Kai's hand on her shoulder as he gently pushed her aside. She saw his face for a brief moment and she swore she saw murder in his eyes. Kai clenched his hand into a fist and punch Skylar's father right in the dead center of his chest. The man hit the ground like a ton of bricks. He clenched his hands to his chest as he trembled in pain. His breath came out as small wheezes as he struggled to catch his breath.
As Kai loomed over Skylar's father, he said, "I don't care if you are her father. If you so much as touch Skylar again, I will break both your arms."

Skylar bit the inside of her lip as she watched her father get up and look at Kai, and then back at her.
"I'll be back." He growled before turning around and storming back to his car. Skylar leaned against the wall sinking to the ground her heart pounding, her cheek stinging, and her stomach rolling like the sea.
"You ok?" Kai asked squatting down in front of her.
"Physically I'm perfectly fine." Skylar managed to say. "Mentally is a whole different story. How did he find me? And why did he come? They left me in an ally! Why do they think they can just come back and think it'll all be better?" Tears pricked at her eyes and she hated show emotion, but this was just to much.
Kai got on his knees and pulled Skylar into an embrace. He held her tight and said, "Don't worry, I won't let them take you away. I'll keep you safe, I promise."
The embrace took Sky by surprise at first, but she let herself sink into his arms. She rested her head on his shoulder and already began to feel better. "I know you will," she said.
Skylar suddenly had a scary thought. "He said he would be back, what if next time he brings the police?" Skylar asked, worried.
"Then you can tell them how your parents mistreated and abandoned you. There's no way the police would let him take you back when they hear your story."
"But I'm still a year too young to be living on my own. When they find out I'm living here they'll make me go to a foster home."
"Ivy's fiance is in the C.I.A., remember? If that happens, Kurt will pull some strings in order to keep you here." His words made Skylar feel better, but anxiety was still tugging at her gut. "Don't worry, everything will be fine," Kai said.
