War of the Tsurekin

Ivy seemed to understand. "Take a seat." When they all found someplace to sit she said, "Tell me what happened."

Kai explained what happened to him at school. When he finished, Ivy smiled and said, "Well, it seems things are running smoother than I had planned."

"What do you mean?" Kai asked.

"Your bond with Ryukin has grown enough that your powers have begun to awaken."

"My powers? So soon?" Kai asked, astonished.

"There's no doubt about it. If I'm not mistaken, your powers are strength and the ability to create fire, just like Ryukin."

"That's not all," Skylar said. "When Kai started the fire I smelled it long before the fire alarms detected it, and when I did I ran faster than I ever had before."

Ivy nodded, then looked at Sean. "And you, Sean?"

"Well, ever since this morning I've had the urge to climb a tree."

"Well, it would seem you all are bonding quiet well with your Tsurekin." Ivy said. "We'll be able to train you better know that we know what your skills are."

"How will we do that?" Skylar asked.

"We'll work first with helping you control them. Kai's will be hardest sense the heat will take some time to control. Strength, that will take just a little while to master. Your speed, Skylar, is something you can control by not running until you have mastered it. Your innate sense of smell is nothing that really needs to be mastered other then being able to know what smells are and where they are." Ivy said.

"What about me?" Sean asked. "What exactly are my powers?"

"Considering Reiky is a monkey, I would have to guess your powers are agility and being able to climb anything with ease."

Sean seemed a little disappointed. "Really? I was hoping I could do something cool, too."

Ivy smiled. "You each have your own strengths. You can do things the others can't. When the time comes, I'm sure your powers will be put to good use. Now, let's get started on your new training. We'll have more time train today, since the school closed for the day."

There was a knock on the door. "Come in," Ivy said. The door opened and in came a ten-year-old girl with blonde hair. She had a timid look about her.

"Oh, that's right." Ivy turned to the others and said, "Everyone, I'd like you to meet the newest member of The Aushaulten, Becky and her Tsurekin Usagi." A white metal rabbit, about twice the size as a real rabbit, came in behind her.

Skylar smiled at the girl.

"Becky, this is Kai, Sean, and Skylar." Ivy said. The girl timidly smiled.

"Hi." She said softly. They returned the gesture and then looked at Ivy.

"Off to training." She said as she stood up. They all walked outside and Skylar sat down next to Tala. "Skylar, sense your bond is speed you will be doing a lot of running." Skylar smiled.

"Oh the irony." She sighed.

She turned to Kai next. "Kai, the first thing we need to do is control your strength. If you don't learn how right away, you could seriously hurt someone without even meaning to."

Kai nodded. "Okay."

"What about me?" Sean asked.

Ivy thought for a moment when she spotted a tree. She pointed to it and said, "Let's see how well you can climb that tree."

Sean went to stand under the tree. He looked up at it for a moment, then jumped to the nearest branch. In five seconds flat, he was on the highest branch, hanging upside-down on his legs.

"Well then, you can climb trees with Reiky for your training. It'll improve your agility and build your muscles. You'll all train with your Tsurekin. When you have gained enough control over your abilities, we'll start on your martial arts training."

"Martial arts? You mean like kung fu?" Skylar asked.

"Perhaps," Ivy said. "My old master doesn't live too far from here. I'll have him teach you when the time comes, he'll decide which style is best for all of you."

"What about Becky?" Kai asked, looking at the girl standing beside Ivy. "Is she going to be training, too?"

"I have something in store for her," she said, "though it's nowhere near as rigorous as your training. She's still a child, after all. Now, Skylar and Tala, you're back to doing laps around the mansion. I want you to run fifty laps. Sean and Reiky, I want you two to climb every tree on the grounds five times. As for Kai and Ryukin, it's off to the weight room for you two. I want one hundred reps from each of you on every piece of equipment down there. Ryukin, there's special equipment down there that I had made especially for Tsurekin. You can use those. I expect you all to be finished before dinner, we'll be having a break half-way through for lunch."

"Do you want me to go full speed?" Skylar asked.

"Not nessicarly. You need to pace yourself so you're not dead by the end of it." She replied. "Go easy at first." Skylar nodded and started running around the mansion with Tala next to her. She concentrated on moving steadily beside Tala who sped up a little with each lap.

"Remeber, not to fast." She told Tala.

"If we do it gradually we'll get faster." Tala replied. "Just run, don't think." Skylar nodded and focused on running again building a mental wall in her brain to block out any pain that was sure to come. She thought about alot of things while she ran and she found that it was calming to run and think.

I haven't been hurting sense the fire incident. She thought. She smiled at the thought. She was getting better. She thought about everything that had been rasing through her head when she had smelled the fire and seen Kai trapped. She swallowed and picked up speed again with Tala as her legs started to hurt at about the twentieth lap. It wasn't to bad and she blocked it out as she kept her thoughts going.

Ivy showed Kai and Ryukin down to the weight room. There were at least twenty different pieces of equipment for humans alone. That meant the least Kai would be doing was a total of two thousand reps.

"There's a lot of equipment here," Kai said.

Ivy nodded. "Back when the Tsurikansen was under my control we had lots of people in this house. Some of them gained great strength through their bond with their Tsurekin, just like you. Sometimes there were five people in here at one time. There had to be enough room for everyone."

"I guess I understand why I have to work out, but a hundred reps on each piece of equipment? Isn't that a bit much?"

She smiled. "If you're anything like the people that used this room before you, a hundred might not even be enough. If you work with each piece you'll get a better idea of how much strength you have, and what your breaking point is. Once you find that out, it'll be much easier to control your power."

"Makes sense, I guess," Kai said. He looked at the nearest piece of equipment. It was set on the heaviest setting. Even a professional bodybuilder would find it difficult to lift that much weight. "Isn't this a bit much?" he asked.

"Try it out and see for yourself." Kai sat down on the piece of equipment and grabbed the handles. He expected it to not budge, but it ended up being lighter than he thought when he pulled. "You no longer have the same strength as a normal human being. You'll be surprised at the things you can do now." She turned to leave the room. "I'll come get you when lunch is ready. There's a water fountain in the corner, make sure you stay well hydrated."

Skylar kept running her legs pumping, the mansion started to pass by in a blur and she lost count of how many times she'd gone around. She moved quickly with Tala right at her side. She would think, or listen to Tala's feet touching the ground. She smelled the food cooking and her stomach growled. She was getting hungry. She picked up the pace when Tala started getting ahead of her and she started humming songs in her head. She stopped short when she smelled something, strange. She looked around.

"What?" Tala asked.

"Somethings out of place." She said as she looked around sniffing the air.

"Where is the smell?" Tala asked.

"I don't know, but it smells like, swamp and axe." She frowned. "I hate that stuff."

"We better let Ivy know even if it isn't anything." Tala said. She nodded and followed Tala towards where Ivy would be.

"Why did you stop?" Ivy asked.

"There is a weird smell, I don't know what it is, but it smells like swamp and someone tried covering it up with axe." She said. "It hasn't been there til about five minutes ago."

"Where is it coming from?" Ivy asked.

"I'm not sure, but it's stronger." She replied rubbing her arm with her hand.

"Come on, lets go check it out." Ivy replied standing up. Sahara followed suit.

**Do the Tsurekin smell?**

(Sure. I don't know what you're planning on doing here, so there's not much I can post.)


Sean was climbing his eighteenth tree when he saw Ivy, Sahara, Skylar, and Tala all heading away from the mansion. "Something's up, Reiky," he said and climbed out of the tree. The two of them went to join the group. "What's going on?"


(So, what do you have in store for our heros? )

((Well, I was planning on them running into a Tsurekin, I figured maybe the owners smell like their creature would if it was in real life. So this one is going to be a crocodile. I'm thinking have her be looking for someone to tell her whats going on. She'll be around their age and maybe Skylar can get jealous of her or something. Thicking the plot. Up to you. Does that sound good to you? If not they can just fight her. But by the smell I'm thinking that others can't really smell what she is smelling, but sense she has like super smell she can smell it. I don't know. But now I'm thinking the axe wasn't a good idea sense it's a girl. Oh well, ))

"I smell something out of place." Skylar said as they walked into the woods. "It's getting stronger." She said looking at Ivy who was alert. Tala moved close to Skylar making sure if anyone jumped out she could protect Skylar easily.

"Try and figure out exactly where it is coming from." Ivy said. Skylar closed her eyes and rested a hand on Tala's head. She breathed in as the wind shifted.

"That way." She said pointing.

"Sahara, please go check it out." Ivy said.

"Yes, Miss Ivy." He said before walking into the woods. There was the sound of metal on metal and then he came back with a dark green crocodile in his mouth, not crushed, but just carrying it. A girl was running behind him yelling at him to let the crocodile down.

"You are obviously not here to attack." Sean said looking at the girl.

"What?! No! Please tell it to put Mira down!" The girl said.

"Put her down, Sahara." Ivy said. Sahara did as he was told and then went to stand next to Ivy. "What is your name?" Skylar watched the crocodile stand in front of the girl it's eyes narrowed.

"I'm Elise, and this is Mira." She said as she looked at them. "I didn't know others existed until I saw it on the news, so I came here to see if I could find someone to tell me what exactly Mira is."

"Then you came to the right place." Ivy smiled. "Come along."

Once introductions were out of the way, they all made their way back to the mansion. It was close to lunch time, so Ivy thought it best to talk while they ate. Reiky went to the weight room to fetch Kai. He had already made it to seven hundred reps. When he came to the dining room he was surprised to see another person, and another Tsurekin.

Ivy saw him and said, "There you are. Kai, this is Elise and her Tsurekin Mira."

When Elise looked at him her eyes widened. She pointed at him and said, "Hey, aren't you that kid that was on the news?"

"Yes, that was me," Kai said with a smile as he took his seat. "If it wasn't for Ivy and Sahara, I wouldn't even be here right now." He took his fork and started to eat.

Elise looked at him for a few more moments before saying, "You know, up close you're kinda cute."

Kai blushed, then the food on his fork suddenly burst into flames.

((Oops, honestly I have a picture of Skylar in my head, but I don't know if I ever discribed her. :S ))

Skylar clenched her jaw as she stabbed her food with her fork. She looked at Elise who flicked her black hair behind her shoulder and smiled before putting food in her mouth. Skylar noticed how Elise's green eyes would flick towards Kai every now and then. Skylar didn't like the girl at all. Skylar couldn't blame Kai if he liked her though, she was pretty. She stood at the same height as Skylar, but she had a way about her that told everyone she was beautiful and she knew it.

Wonder how she got a crocodile? Skylar wondered. She avoided smelling sense Elise still smelled like swamp. She didn't know how no one else could smell it.

"Where are you from, Elise?" Sean asked from across the table.

"A good ways south, near the swamp lands. Thats where I found Mira." She said flashing him a smile. Skylar frowned, if Elise was going to go flirting with both Sean and Kai they were going to have a problem. Skylar couldn't stand flirts, let alone girls that acted like Elise.

Gotta be nice! She growled at herself. We need all the help we can get, She didn't care though, she didn't want Elise around Kai. Your not at all possive. She laughed at herself. Doubtful he even notices you other then a friend. Get over it! She couldn't and she ate the rest of the meal in silence just listening and watching.

"I think it's time we got down to business," Ivy said. She explained everything about the Tsurekin, Tsurikansen, the five Tsurekin Lords, and The Aushaulten.

"So, you're telling me when New Years Eve rolls around, these things will awaken and try to destroy the world?" Elise asked.

Ivy nodded. "That's what I learned from the writings I found in Egypt."

"How are we supposed to stop them?"

"The descendants of the Tsurekin Lords hold the power to do that. Sahara is the descendant of Hera the Sphinx, and Ryukin is the descendant of Draco the Dragon. We just need to find the descendants of Zwolle the Basilisk, Lernae the Hydra, and Simurgh the Pheonix."

"If you just need those five, then why are you taking in anyone with a Tsurekin?" Elise asked.

Ivy was silent for a moment, as if recalling a memory. "There was one message on that wall that caught my interest. It spoke of something happening when all five Tsurekin Lords are defeated, something that involved every Tsurekin in the world. But the message had faded so much over time that that was all I could decipher."
