"It's still sinking in I guess. I mean lfie won't ever really be the same." She sighed. "Thinking about Tala getting hurt scares me, I don't want her hurt. She's protected me so much, I guess it comes natural to want to protect her. But she hates when I do sense she says she's supposed to protect me."

"I know how you feel," Kai said. "Ryukin is always protecting me, and now that Tsurikansen is in the picture his work just got a lot harder. I want to protect him, too, but I know that against another Tsurekin I have no chance. The best I can do is give him support."

Skylar nodded. "I wish we could do something to help them in their fights."

"By the time your training is finished, you will," a voice from behind said. They both looked back to see Ivy standing behind the swing. She smiled and said, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

"No, you're not," Skylar said.

She looked at Sean who was enjoying himself in the pool and said, "Well, it seems as though you're all wide awake. If you want you can go back to your homes to pack all your things and bring them here. I have two moving trucks waiting in front of the mansion to take you and Sean back to your houses." She looked at Kai and said, "I had someone bring your things last night. I didn't want to wake you, so I decided to let you know when you got up. I have some people taking it to your room right now."

"Thank you, Ivy." Kai got off the swing and turned to Skylar to say, "I'm going back to my room to make sure everything is placed where I want it. I'll see you later."

Skylar followed them back to the mansion after Sean got out of the pool and followed. Skylar climbed in the veichle that was to take her with Tala in the back. When they got to the house she walked in and started packing.

"Where are you going?" Gram asked walking in.

"Somewhere that if someone comes after me you'll be safe." Skylar replied.

"And that is?"

"Some mansion. It's where a bunch of other good Tsurekin are. I've got Tala I"ll be fine." She replied.

"Uh huh. I'm not sure I like this idea." Gram replied.

"Gram, I'm going to stay there, I don't want you to get hurt." Skylar replied.

"I doubt I will."

"Yes, Gram you could. THey destroyed the apartment building Kai lived in. Don't you think they won't think twice about hurting you?" Skylar demanded. "I love you." She kissed Gram's cheek as the two men that had come with her carried her stuff to the moving van.

Kai made his way back to his room with Ryukin in tow. Some of his things were already at his door waiting to be put away. As he got to work, he heard footsteps at the living room door. He thought it was one of the movers bringing another box of his stuff in, but when he turned to see who it was he saw Sahara.

"Oh, hi Sahara. Shouldn't you be with Ivy?"

"I was hoping I could have a word with Ryukin," he said.

Ryukin looked at Kai, waiting for his permission to leave. "Sure," Kai said, "as long as he's back in time to help me with the heavy stuff."

"Of course. Ryukin, follow me."

Ryukin followed Sahara down the hall until they came to another room. It was much more elegant than the ones Kai and the others had, not to mention bigger. The bed, couch, table, and every other piece of furniture with legs were very low to the floor. The types of decorations that were used in the room screamed "Egyptian."

"Whose room is this?" Ryukin asked.

"Mine."

Ryukin looked surprised. "You have your own room?"

"Of course. Miss Stone had it made for me the day I came back with her from Egypt. If you ask I'm sure she'll have one made for you."

"I'm fine. I'd rather sleep in the same room as Kai anyway. So, what was it you wanted to talk about?"

"You and I are very important, we are the only ones that can bring down our respective Tsurekin lords. Much will be expected of you. In fact, Miss Stone has seen it fit to have you and Kai take our place as leaders of this new organization."

"Really?"

Sahara nodded. "She believes she had her chance, and now it's time to pass the torch on to someone else. I believe it is partly because of our defeat by Jirran and Chimera that she has made this decision."

"Are you sure we're right for the job?" Ryukin asked.

"I will make sure you two are. Miss Stone wants me to give you and your master special training on top of what Miss Stone will provide. I will prepare both of you for the responsibilities you must fulfill."

"Why did you pull me away to tell me this? Shouldn't Kai be here to hear this, too?"

"I have a question you must answer, without your master at your side to affect the answer." Sahara began pacing around Ryukin. "As a Tsurekin, the safety of your master is your priority. You must protect him, no matter the cost."

"I already know that," Ryukin said.

"Even if the cost is your own life." That made Ryukin freeze. Sahara continued pacing around him. "If you are faced by impossible odds you must face them if it means your master will survive. Are you, Ryukin, willing to put your own life on the line to keep Kai alive?"

Ryukin was silent for a few moments. After about half a minute, he said, "Yes, I am willing to protect Kai, even if it means forfeiting my life."

"Then your training will begin tomorrow. I will find you two when it is time. Now go, tell your master what I have told you."

Ryukin nodded and went back to Kai's room.

Skylar finally got all her stuff situated and walked back to the living room. Sean was already in there.

"So, what now?" She asked plopping down on a couch. She yawned closing her eyes.

"Ivy wants me and Ryukin to be the next leaders." Kai said looking at them. Skylar sat up and looked at him.

"Why isn't she staying as that?" Skylar asked.



**Sorry, my lil sister is freaking out because it's about to storm, gotta jet until she chills. **

(Huh, we had some lightning a while ago up here, too. In fact it's been nothing but rain and thunder all summer. In fact, there have been times when it rained once every day of the week. Well, I hope your sister calms down soon.)


"She thinks it's time to pass on the torch," Kai said. "I guess since Ryukin is a descendant she thinks we would be the perfect candidates."

"I think you would do great," Sean said. He was hooking up his T.V. and game system he brought from home. "I'll stand behind you if you decide to go through with it."

"I would, too," Skylar said, "but are you sure you're ready for something like this?"

"Sahara said he'll be giving us extra training on top of what Ivy is going to give us," Kai said. "I think I understand why Ivy wants me to be the leader. She doesn't want to fail us like she did when she lost to Jirran. She wants a new leader that she can train to not make the mistakes she made."

"But is it what you want?" Skylar asked.

Kai thought for a few moments. "Well, I want to help others, keep them safe. I want to stop Tsurikansen from hurting others like they did Ryukin and Tala, and when the Tsurekin lords awaken, I want to stop them, too. If becoming the leader means I can do all that, then I'll do it."

"Sounds like we've got a new leader," Sean said. "Is there anything you want to say now that you're our superior officer?"

"Just one thing," Kai said. "From this day forward, we will call ourselves The Aushaulten. We won't give up until we take down Tsurikansen and the Tsurekin lords."

"And the crowd goes wild." Skylar laughed. "You'll be great." Kai's face got a tad red before going back to normal.

"Done!" Sean grinned. "Now lets play." He tossed them each a remote and they all sat on the same couch, Skylar in the middle. They started playing to pass the time. Skylar would either get smashed between teh guys or she'd push back against them.



**i've nothing, and I"m off for a little while. Gotta figure out who called me earlier and didn't leave a message. So bye for now**

They played for a few hours until a man's voice spoke over the intercom, telling them that lunch was served. The dining room was enormous, with two giant tables that were big enough to fit at least twenty people each, and a smaller table at the end for about five people. The three of them sat with Ivy at the smaller table.

"So Kai, have you thought about what Sahara told you?" she asked. "I would have asked you myself, but I had some business to attend to."

"I have," he said, "and I've decided to take the job. We've also decided that our new name will be The Aushaulten."

Skylar watched Ivy smiled. "Good, I'm glad." She nodded and then looked at Skylar and Sean. "Did you get everything from your houses?"

"Yes." Sean replied. "Thank you." She nodded and Skylar watched her. She felt a twang of jealousy every time Ivy smiled at Kai. She pushed it aside, she couldn't prove Sean right. Someone walked in the room and looekd around. Ivy waved him over.

"Kai, Sean, Skylar, I'd like you to meet my Fiancee Kurt." Ivy smiled as the guy sat down. Skylar nearly sighed in relief, but she kept herself from it.

"Hi." The three said in unison. Kurt smiled and nodded back as he kissed Ivy's cheek which flared red.

"It's nice to meet you all," Kurt said. "It's a good thing Ivy got to you before Tsurikansen did."

"Do you have a Tsurekin, too?" Sean asked.

He shook his head. "No, I'm just a normal person like anyone else walking these streets."

"Actually, Kurt works for the CIA," Ivy said.

Everyone froze the moment they heard that word. Skylar even dropped her fork.

Kurt laughed. "You all have nothing to worry about. I wouldn't tell anyone about you guys. Ivy explained everything to me. If what she says is true, you guys are the only ones who can save us from the Tsurekin lords when they awaken. It's too bad what happened with Tsurikansen, a lot of good kids went with it when Jirran took over."

"Is there any way to pull any of them to our side?" Skylar asked.

"We couldn't get close to the ones thats bound is weak enough to bring over here." Kurt replied.

"Who says we can't, they can't keep them locked up somewhere can they?" She asked. "It's worth a try, is it not?"


**Just an idea**

Ivy thought for a minute. "I suppose it is. Their families would have definitely noticed if their children suddenly stopped coming home. But I would like to train you all a bit first. That way if anything goes wrong while trying to bring them back you can at least defend yourselves."

"There's actually something I'd like to talk to you all about," Kurt said. He looked at Kai. "The CIA saw the news report on what happened to the apartment complex you lived in. My superiors have begun sending agents to this city to investigate the situation."

"That's not good," Kai said.

"I know, especially since they're looking for you."

That made sense. Taura, the Tsurekin that tore up the building's lobby, had been after him. It was his face that they had seen on the security camera. "Do they know where I am?"

"They don't know you're here, but they do know where you go to school. They're sending two agents over there tomorrow to question you."

"What am I supposed to do?" Kai asked. "I can't suddenly stop going to school, or else they'll know I had something to do with it."

"You're going to go to school tomorrow like you always do. When they call you in to question you, don't run. Answer all their questions without telling them about your Tsurekin, or anything else of that topic. When I leave I'll call my superiors and request that I take the place of one of the agents, that way you'll have a friendly face with you while you answer the questions."

Skylar looked over at Kai. "Will they arrest him?"

"No."

"So I tell them I have no idea what that thing was or why it was coming after me?" Kai asked.

"THat's lying, couldnt' he get in trouble for doing that?" Skylar asked looking back at Kurt.


*Oy vey, my day went down the drain, I gotta go study for a spanish thing :@ I HATE Roseta Stone, it's the absolute worse, does you no good. :S *

(Sounds tough. In Canada we have to learn French. Not real French mind you, Canadian French. I got exempted from French class because of my A.D.H.D. Funny thing is, at 17 I went to Japan and learned basic Japanese, which is way harder than Canadian French. If you don't feel like you're at your most creative right now, you don't have to post. Besides, school comes first. Good luck on your test, or assignment.)


"After what we've seen that Tsurekin do the CIA has declared it to be a threat. If they find out about your Tsurekin, they'll hunt them down and capture or destroy them. If Kai tells the truth, your Tsurekin are as good as dead."

"I won't let them take Tala!" Skylar said.

"Don't worry. We have the advantage right now. The CIA thinks Taura is the only one. They won't question Kai about Ryukin and the others." He turned back to Kai. "All you have to tell them is you were just on your way home when it attacked you. We can make them think it only came after you simply because you were the only one in the lobby at the time. As long as you stick to your story you'll be fine."

"They won't question us will they?" Skylar asked.

"They might, but I doubt it. From what Ivy says y'all haven't been hanging out for that long. If they do, just don't talk about the Tsurekins." He replied.

"Sounds easy enough." Sean smiled.
