Hector

The wedding party looked fabulous, at least from Hector's distance. He felt the saddness come over his heart as he saw the happy couple embrace.

"It's not fair." Hector grumbled. "It's never far. Why should I be doomed to this loveless life while they can all be happy."

Hector sat down on a large rock and rested his chin in his hand. "It's not fair." he mumbled.

Suddenly, a brilliant idea came to him. He could go to the party, cause mischief. No one would be able to see him. Not even the bride and groom. The groom especially, he had been a very close friend of Hectors. And he deserved a little mischeif at his wedding.

Hector stood and began his quick descent from the rock on the hill to the fabulous celebration below.

Oh, I got another idea instead :P

Name: Skylark (goes by Sky for short)

Age: In her human form she appears to be nineteen, but she cannot remember her true age.

Gender: Female

God/Goddess of: Mystery, lies, deception, illusion. She is protector of the sky.

Appearance: In her human form she has dark hair, with wild, icy blue eyes. Medium height, slim. She has an infectious smile that you just can't help joining in with. She always wears a necklace with a black feather with a blue tip on it.

Jackdaw form:

Image

Goddess form:

Image

The rest of her body in goddess form is basically like a griffin except with a bird tail. Her claws are also blue.

History: She was appointed by the Gods to protect the sky from evil, many years ago. She happily oblidged and they granted her the ability to shapeshift into her two forms, one for scouting the skies (jackdaw) and her Goddess form for fighting intruders. The gods found her a valuble asset and granted her the powers of a Goddess as reward for her good deads.

Personality: Fun, always smiling, optimistic. She's a free spirit and hates rushing; she is mellow and easy going. She is courageous; she needs to be when protecting the skies from danger. She hates being indoors as it makes her feel trapped, loves to be out in the fresh air. She takes her position as sky gaurdian seriously though and will attack without mercy if evil dares enter it.
Due to her being the goddess of lies and deception, she can always tell if someone is lying and is excellent at lying herself. Also, she can create illusions and become invisible when flying, though she rarely needs to use it.

Other: Up for love :D

Um, well it's not really a problem. You see I thought it would be too, but after thinking more about it I realized it wouldn't. I'm obsessed with Greek mythology and from what I've heard and read the greeks believed that the Gods weren't ALL powerful. People couldn't ALWAYS depend on them. It was like the Gods didn't know everything but were potentionally dangerous and harmful.

For our situation I guess the Gods would kill the hunters, but these aren't normal hunters. They know about creatures, which I'm assuming normal humans don't. They've had expeirence with Gods and creatures.

Also Bolt's character is half God. So by adding that to what I said above would that help with the problem? I guess James could sort of sheild them from other Gods and creatures which makes it harder to find and kill them?

Sorry if that's confusing, but do you think this will work?

Ilios-

The griffin woke with a grunt when the bird landed on him. He eyed it irritably before turning to survey the campsite, which was deserted. There was a small note left where Syn and his pack used to be.

Grumbling, he reached over with a claw and pulled the note to him. It read.
Hey Ilios,

Some travelers stopped by and I found out my old friend Taryl, his dad (the emporer) is getting married. Again. This is one party I just can't miss. I'm gating to Athens, when you wake up, fly to meet me there.

Ilios! ^_^

Ilios screeched and bolted up right, his thought speak lashed the air, so that the bird could here. "What was that fool thinking? A wedding like that is bound to have a god or two at it. Gods that would like nothing better then to see him dead!"

He shot back into the air, in his haste to reach Athens he didn't notice the bird still clinging to his back.

Syn-

"Syn! Your back." Taryl reached over and clasped Syn's wrists in the warriors greeting. "Where have you been the last four years, Adelfos? We missed you."

Grinning, Syn slapped Taryl's back and the pair walked over to a table. "Oh, here and there. Never in the same place for very long. I can't believe your father is getting married again. What is this, like the sixth time?"

He chuckled and snagged a glass of wine. "Something like that. He keeps living like this and he won't live much longer."

"And then you'll be Emporer and won't have time for your lesser noble friends." Syn drawled.

Taryl shook his head in amusement, four years later and Syn hadn't changed one bit. "Syn, you will never be lesser anything. There's just something about you..." He trailed off and started in on a different topic. "So, you tick anyone off while you've been gone?"

Syn glanced across the room. Out of the corner of his eye he saw four figures all grouped together, three woman and a man, they were staring at him. To Syn's eyes they shone with the golden aura of gods. "Oh, I think some people were already ticked off at me."

"Is something wrong Syn?" Taryl asked worriedly.

Syn glanced back at Taryl, and flashed his old friend a carefree grin. "No. Nothing you need to worry about."

*For those wondering adelfos is greek for brother. In this case a term of endearment for a close friend. I'd like the others to maybe guess who Syn is.*

*Sorry guys. Had to change my first characters name and goddess of thing, since we had a water goddess already. Now she is Aella and is the goddess of storm. Could someone be her BBF and pull her in please?*

Sure (: I was trying to find a way to get Jade in anyway. (:

Jade

I sat in the tree, crouched in between to limbs. I was waiting for Aella. She was supposed to be here! Why wasn't she here? She was never late.

I felt something tickle the back of my neck. I spun around, nearly falling out of the tree. Sometimes it surprised me how clumsy I was. Aella grabbed my wrist and fell into a fit of laughter.

"You know if I had your gift right now I would make it rain right over you," I sighed trying to be angry with her. She knew I couldn't be. She was probably the only one who understood me. I was doomed to spend my eternal life in the night. All because I was the goddess of night. Everyone else seemed to be so happy I guess I was an exception.

"That's why I'm so grateful you don't," Aella teased. I rolled my eyes and jumped down. Aella followed.

"Now where are we going now?" She asked. I smiled.

"To explore the night. Where else? Besides I have a surprise for you," I stated.

"Really?" She asked. "What?" I cocked an eyebrow.

"Ah, ah, ah," I scolded. "It wouldn't be a surprise then. All I can tell you is that I know a storm will be coming tonight. You can't feel it because it's not a normal storm. I guess you could call it a storm of the night."

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Aella laughed. I nodded.

"C'mon we're nearly there."

I stopped in front of a hill. It was a meteor shower. The asteroids flew across the night sky, lighting it up. Aella watched the beautiful rocks create color to this dreary night.

"What do you think?" I whispered.

**Hope I got it right. (:

Mad_Moo: I'm not entirely sure where the 'wedding' came from. Just outta nowhere, I guess. Everyone's kinda doing their own thing, so I think it'll be up to you guys to bring yourselves in. Unless someone encounters you, but...yeah.

WhiteTiger: Not really, because I'm not talking about ALL gods. Just this particular one. And normal humans came across creatures all the time, so pretty much everyone knew about them. What I'm saying is that they need to come to an agreement of some kind. The goddess of creatures doesn't approve of creature hunters killing creatures. That's the problem. Do you see what I mean? They need some kind of compromise, because your characters can't stop killing creatures, but they, in a way, belong to my character. It has nothing to do with the gods trying kill your characters, or being half god, or anything like that.

And one more thing: I don't quite think you guys understood what I was talking about when I mentioned that you can't use creatures from the middle ages, as this takes place over 1,000 years prior to. So let me come right out and say it: Creatures such as dragons did not exist yet. And unless you are a god, you cannot change forms, meaning humans can't shape shift. Guys, this is greek mythology, not mythology in general.

Sorry to crush your creatures and such, but think of the time period. Here are creatures from GREEK mythology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Gr ... _creatures (this is a much better link ;))

Any of these are perfectly fine.

Please and thank you :P

Hm. I'm not sure Rayne. ): I mean my character won't come to any sort of agreement, and won't listen to anyone else. She kills because she feels she has to I guess. ): It's difficult to explain.

Anyway I was just wondering how your character found ours? I didn't think it worked like that. I don't know, I really stumped and I'm trying to figure something out. I guess Jamie and James won't kill anymore creatures until we figure out something. I kind of need Bolt.

Hmm...maybe they could have like a secret identity. They could mask themselves and kill the creatures so that way your goddess won't know who's really killing her creatures. That okay?

The gods and goddess watched humans from Olympus all the time. That's why they tended to mingle - because they saw something on Earth that intrigued them. So, she was watching over the Earth and her creatures when she saw your characters fighting the centaurs.

And even if they had secret identities, the fact still remains that they're killing creatures. It doesn't matter who it is, so long as people are killing them, their goddess won't be very happy.

Ugh this is confusing! :P

Cant we just start from new? You tell us all the rules and we all start together like all the gods at a banquet or something, and we just forget what happened before. I mean: I'm very confused at the moment.

Sorry to butt in, but would that not create a little drama? I mean, we're collectively writing a fiction based upon fact, but you guys could bend the rules a little ;) A war between Man and nature? That's pretty epic, you must admit :P
But whatever you guys think, just a thought. I don't know much about Greek mythology (here we're forced to learn about Irish history, seriously boring) so I dunno. :P

So does that mean I'll have to change Famine's profile? Argh.

Would this be okay for his appearance or not? I can't find anything skeleton like that looks cool.

And what about Skylark's Goddess form? Does that need changed or can I keep it?

EDIT:

Whoops, that link was messed up. I fixed it now :P

That's true, but I don't want Terra to come across as an evil goddess or anything, because she's far from it - the opposite, actually. I guess it could be her constantly pursuing them, and they keep getting away and killing creatures on the way. Or something :P

Yeah, sorry :/ I didn't mean to mess up anyone's characters, I just thought it defeated the purpose of Greek mythology if we had medieval creatures.
Yeah, the stuff on there is fine.
And no, you don't have to change Skylark's goddess form. It looks a bit more like an Egyptian goddess, buta goddess is a goddess ;) And gryphons were, apparently, part of Greek mythology, so you're good. I learned something new today XP

Dang WoW making me think that gryphons first came around in the middle ages >< Lol :P

Okay, final caught up on the talking.

Rayne, see back in the myths of the Greeks creatures were killed all the time. Heroes challenged them and saved humans from them. Monsters were considered evil. And the "Goddess" (Well the goddess was more an all powerful monster who gave birth to the worst. And others were made by older gods and goddesses.) was evil as well. Gods would also send the heroes on quests often to take care of them, because they did not want to.

A goddess of creatures would be evil also, or thought of evil. The hunters would be good. And nod Gods would really hurt them.

(And a note, there were also shape sifters in Greek mythology. That site does not have a complete list if it is missing them)

Yay that's good :P Besides I don't mind changing Famine's profile much anyway, the new picture looks better (the link went all goofy so I had to fix it, please take a look at my last comment to see Famine in his skeleton form ;))
I'll post tomorrow, I'm shattered after my Eng. Lit exam xD
