And there she sat, a mixture of fear and anger running through her veins. For there she was in the centre of the temple, candles surrounding her, forming a perfect circle. Silence seemed to be the only thing that greeted her in the dark room. Along the walls, she knew different men were standing there in utter obscurity, but they would not speak unless needed. She wished to get up and run. She knew she would not be chosen and wanted to be saved the embarrassment. But she would not be allowed to leave. All their eyes had settled on her and her heart raced remarkably.
Then came the shuffling breaking the silence. Her heart leapt and she quickly straightened up and looked over towards the noise. Adrenalin rushed through her veins. Fear raced through her heart. This was it. This was the deciding moment.
"Nadira." The voice came, weak at first but then gaining power as if it were a crackling flame. To be truthful, the scent of smoke could be slightly smelt. "Why are you scared? There is no need to be."
She felt herself get up to her feet swiftly but those familiar movements seemed not feel like her own. She felt she was in a shell of a body that would just move for her. "I am not scared." Nadira tried to say, but her voice betrayed her and cracked mid-way.
But then the man stepped into the circle. He was fairly tall, and in his right hand was a menacing staff that reached even higher than himself. His robe was bright orange with a red silk sash and he wore his hood over his head, disguising his face. All she could see was the faint lines of his hard mouth and his gently pointed chin in the faint candle light.
The fire flared up all of a sudden and swirled even higher. The corner of the man's mouth twitched into a slight smile. "They have chosen."
Nadira could not take it any longer. She would not wait any longer. "Just tell me what I already know! I am not who they all think I am! I am not any different than what they are! Save me the time and just let me be off."
"Oh, but they all thought right. The spirits have chosen you are the perfect embodiment." His crackling voice seemed to have a mocking edge to it.
"Just tell me already."
"As you wish." His slight smirk seemed to morph into a sinister grin. The flames leapt up then and rushed at her. "Your element is fire."
Nadira was bathed in flame. The pain was intense at first making her keel over onto the ground. Her skin seemed to burn and blister and soon she felt pins and needles encase her whole body. But then everything went cold and she straightened up once more to notice all the flames were extinguished.
"Be gone." The man said one last time and he faded away into darkness.

Okay, that may be just a bit long... Sorry about that.

In the world the elements each have two parts to them. The two parts usually get along but every once and awhile they disagree and a war of nature begins. That is happening now. The new spirit holders most now fight the other hosts before the lands are destroyed by the nature spirits.
So now the next person to post can you post a monk from the temple for the powers come to you and have them tell you to go to "some random place" where a meeting will be held of the good elements to discuss the battle plan.
Sorry its long, but I had to get it all in there. And I hope it is all okay. It is a bit cheesy, but I did my best
Korah - Metal
Korah watched Sydney walk away with a frown. He couldn’t help but feel a little guilty, though it had seemed like a pretty fair fight to him. He glanced over at Will who just shrugged, also not sure what to do. Suddenly the sound of a large bell ringing shook the air, causing all the kids to turn in surprise.
“Its coming from the temple,” Will said, as he nodded toward the large building they had all just received their powers at.
“It’s the summoning bell,” Sydney called as he hurried over to the two boys. “Something must be up for the priests to call us back so quickly.”
“We better go then,” Korah muttered as they all turned and hurried along. Following the narrow cobblestone pathway they soon entered back into the original stone courtyard where the other kids were already beginning to gather. Korah saw Alyse and Evan walk in, and was even surprised to see that Alyse was holding a small cat. But at the moment only they were in the courtyard, so Korah approached Dylan who was sitting down on the ground.
“Hey Dylan,” he called as the boy turned around to look at him. “What element did you get?”
“Light,” Dylan replied, “The one I wanted.”
“Good for you,” Korah grunted, “At least you like yours. I am having a trouble with mine at the moment.”
Dylan opened his mouth to say something else when the two large double doors slowly creaked open. Silence fell like a blanket as they all turned to see who would step out. Seconds passed, and then two figures slowly emerged from the double doors. One was a man, short, and clothed in an orange meditation robe. His head had been shaved till it was smooth, and plugs had been pushed into his ears to lengthen the lobes. He wore a small brown beaded necklace, and a light yellow sash was draped across his shoulder. He moved slowly with age, but a certain higher grace seemed to accompany him as well. His partner was a female, with a small bunch of white hair that had been pulled back tight into a pony tail. Her face was aged and lined, but also dark like an old piece of leather. She also was clothed in an orange robe, with a sash and a beaded necklace, though her beads were black.
They both entered the small courtyard and stopped, staring at the youngsters before them and looking each of them in the eye. “So,” the old woman said at last, her ancient voice ringing with authority as she spoke. “You are the chosen ones, those who have been plucked out of darkness to lead the rest of us into light. I congratulated you but also caution you all to be careful in the times to come, for your journeys have only begun.”
“Indeed,” the elder man said as he slowly stepped forward. “Darkness has already begun to move and the elements must once again arise to protect the people. Now watch and listen, as history unfolds...” reaching into his robes he pulled out a small leather pouch bound on top by a small string. Undoing the string he opened it and reached inside, pulling out some dust which he tossed into the air.
The old woman raised a single finger and pointed it at the dust while calling, “Spirits of times past, SPEAK!”
Suddenly a large gust of wind swept into the courtyard, sending loose papers and other small articles scattering everywhere as the kids clung to their clothes to keep them from flying off. The ground shook as the earth rolled beneath their feet and up above angry clouds began to form in the sky, releasing flashes of lighting as they billowed and moved. The wind formed a small cyclone in the middle, entrapping the dust as it began to glow and shine before a loud voice, that boomed like thunder sang out. “Welcome those of you who have been chosen. Listen well to me, for once again the earth needs you, and once again you are being called for help. As many of you know in the world the elements each have two parts to them. While the two parts are joined and usually exist in harmony every once and awhile there is a disagreement that shakes the earth to its very core. Usually such a time heralds a great war, and once again that time is upon us for it us happening now! The other spirit holders have begun to move, seeking to use their powers for gang they have struck out across the land, and only you all have the power to stop them, and stop them you must before the lands are destroyed by the nature spirits!
I have come to warn you, and caution you. You have each been pair with a guide, a spirit who will help you and lead you on the quest to come. They will show and teach you about your powers, your gifts that you have received. Pay heed and listen to them well, but also be wary of what has been given to you. For they are meant to be used to help others, and not for your own personal gain. Be careful of those who would seek you use you, but become powerful and respected in your own right. May the spirits guide you all...” as the voice faded away the light and wind suddenly stopped as if they had disappeared into the air. They all just stood there, some in fear, others in shock and what they had witnessed.
“So it has begun,” the old woman crooned as she looked at the children. “You must all go, to the Temple of Peace. It is at least a week from here as the raven flies. There at the temple, the great monk Master Zaeha is waiting for you. He will help you in the adventure to come, as well as give you wisdom and insight in what you are all to do. Be careful however, the journey there will be dangerous, may the spirits protect you all.” Turning the two elder monks seemed to float back into the double doors, melding with the shadows as they vanished from sight as the oak doors boomed shut behind them.
She staggered forward through the crowd, thoughts bledning into an unreadable mess in her mind. A war? That could not be. Soon she pulled out of the crowd and came to the steps of the temple where she had collapsed.
This could not be right. Confusion seemed to swallow her existence. None of this could be possible. She could not be some hero or some magical being who would help save the world. That was not what was supposed to happen. She was supposed to be a normal girl, living back home with her family. Now it occured to her for the first time that it was plausible that she would not truly see her friends.
She swept some of the dust into her palm as if that would be the answer to all her problems. It was soft to the touch, not at all grainy. On closer inspection, it seemed to sparkle like powdered gold. For this bizaree place, it possible could have been.
"Do not fret. The answers will come soon enough." A deep male voice echoed through her head, but it surprisingly did not alarm her. The voice seemed to be like the caress of the flames. This was her spirit. This was her guide to this unknown world. Automatically she calmed down and stumbled to her feet clumsily. She looked over the faces in the crowd which did not seem as large as it did once before.
She felt all their eyes on her and automatically felt self concious. She ran off to the garden on the otherside of the temple, flames seemingly dancing around her.

Alyse rested the cat on the ground. As the woman's back retreated, Alyse looked at everyone else, their mouths agape. "A dangerous journey to 'The Peace Temple'?"
"Temple of Peace," Korah corrected her.
"Shut up," Alyse snapped. "Did she leave directions?"
Alyse hoped, and scooped the kitten up, Evan at her side.

Sorry its short...
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person.
I looked at Alyse than back at Korah.
"Peace of Temple?" asked Alyse.
"Temple of Peace." said Korah correcting her.
"Shut up." said Alyse.
I grinned, I couldn't it.
"So now what guys?" I asked.
"We go there?" said Alyse.
"I guess." said Korah.
