Echo~

I sat alone. It was like always though. When I was truly blind before, no one would associate with me, as they thought by being with me somehow... they were doing something wrong.

Now though, my powers were so discriminative it seemed, they wanted to keep me for themselves. I had gotten used to being alone and I became introspective and began living in my own inverted world that I never saw and only heard the echoes.

My parents didn't name me. They thought I wouldn't live long enough. If you give a name to something, you begin to care for it. They didn't want that. I named myself after everything I heard, all the time.

When I began seeing, it seemed so different. I saw, not with my eyes, but with my entire body. It was like I was destined never to belong anywhere but with the animals and the Earth.

The Earth whispered to me, like a best friend who tells you all of her secrets. Right now, I sat on a bed of leaves listening to the laughing and cries of the people around me.

I felt each of them, and by feeling them, I felt that I knew them. I knew everything, the media of their minds. And, that way, I connected with them, even if they never knew.

Will

Slowly, the minutes ticked by and the courtyard grew less and less populated as the kids were called in one by one to receive their elements. I scuffed my heels in the dirt and looked up as the large double doors opened yet again, admitting a dark-haired girl back out into the sunlight. She instantly sprinted off towards the gardens, where I had seen other new elemental-paired kids that I knew headed.

A loud voice echoed from inside the double doors, calling out a name. It took me a moment to recognize the name as mine, and even longer to gather the courage to step inside.

The room was large, with a domed ceiling, and only lit by a few candles at the other end of the hall. Standing some hundred feet in front of me stood a calm, older woman who watched me approach without a flicker of emotion passing across her face. The candle light flickered off her face.

I closed the distance between us with a few quick strides and stood before her nervously. I hadn't expected to be chosen, and I wondered which elements were left after so many had gone before me. The old woman nodded her head slightly and beckoned me closer.

"You have been chosen," she said quietly, and raised her hand to place a single finger on my forehead. I gasped in surprise as images and sensation that I didn't recognize flowed into my body. Then the woman drew back, and instantly it all stopped.

A candle silently flickered out and the old woman drew back into the shadows without another word.

I bowed, not knowing what else to do, and whispered a quiet "Thank you". Surprisingly, someone answered, though it was not the old woman.

You're welcome, William Starr, an unfamiliar voice said, deep and booming.

I looked around me, but all was dark except the flickering candles.

"Who's there?" I called out, spinning around. There was no one.

I am your element, the voice said again, though this time it was light and twinkling, like a star. Then it changed again, into my voice, and said mischievously, Congratulations, William. You've been chosen by the Cosmic element. Our souls are now intertwined, and will remain that way so long as the other lives. May the stars, and me, guide you through the dark.

I hadn't been expecting Cosmic. I would've thought that would've been given to someone more...worthy. Someone who had better understanding of it.

And what makes others any better equipped than you? the element asked, reading my thoughts. Its voice once again light and twinkling. Tell you what. Go outside and I'll show you one of the things we can do together. It's been a long time since I've been paired with a fit human.

I followed his/her directions and stepped back out into the sunlight. A few curious glances were cast my way, but no one spoke up. I headed in the direction the other kids had gone, waiting for further instructions from the element.

What do I call you? Are you male or female? I asked as we exited the courtyard.

I have no name and no set gender. I am everything, and nothing. But, because you humans can't seem to grasp that, call me and consider me whatever you like. I makes no difference to me. Now stop moving for a moment and look to your left. You see that flower pot? Of course you do. Now imagine it lifting upwards.

I did as directed and watched in wonder as it floated upwards for a moment before gently falling back to the ground.

And that isn't even the half of it, the element said, not bothering to hide its amusement. Just you wait.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.

"will you got one to." i said.

"yeah i got Cosmic, and i know what you got Evan, what you get Alyse." Will asked

"I got ice" Alyse answered this time more happy about it then when she told me.

"cool." will said. "whats the cat for." he asked.

"we found Doom here in the wood, so we're taking her to the vet in town. The others are still there though, and if you have your powers under control use them, it will really tick of Korah." i said then me And Alyse left.

Alyse~

Alyse stroked the small kitten's ears. It was purring, a tiny, significant sound. She smiled, happy that the cat was enjoying itself slightly, through the pain.

"Yeah, that really will tick Kor off, for sure," Alyse said, trying to start conversation. She would've thanked Evan for coming along, but that just wasn't her. Her expression towards the animal was all the thanks she could give. She waved at Will as he headed towards the temple.

Alyse~

"Well... she, I think, is pretty cool. Nice, actually. Completely opposite to my ice-cold heart." Alyse sighed and stroked the cats head again. "She hasn't said much."

"That's because you haven't asked me much," Ice replied, her voice slightly offended.

Okay, do you know Evan's element?

"Pssh. Of course! We've been together practically since the beginning of time!"

Before Alyse could say anymore they were standing in front of a quaint vet's office. She started up the steps, each one creaking beneath her weight as she walked. She hurried up. "Apparently I'm fat," she joked, motioning to the stairs who made little noise under Evan's footsteps. He didn't even bother to laugh, it was that poor.

Evan and Alyse sat down in the waiting chair. Alyse checked in and sat down, while Evan was busy looking at ads and pictures.

I hope that's okay.

Evan~~

"get your spikes at the spike emporium." i said looking at the ad, it showed a guy lying dead on spikes. "remind me never to go there, along with the arrow store, and the cactus store, with the famous lemon juice fountain and free razor blades."

Alyse gave me a slight chuckle as we waited.

do we have a little crush my spirit asked me.

no i thought

there is no point lying Evan, i know you do like her. it shot back

well then you are mistaken i do not

fine, you can say it all you want though and it won't change.

Whatever, i thought and then ignored her/him. He was right but i wouldn;t let him/her know i really did, even if he/she did.

Alyse~

Alyse snorted. "'The spire emporium'? You don't want to go to the spike emporium? That's like, major goth headquarters!" Alyse said in a mocking 'valley-girl' voice.

A lady came in. "Alyse," She said. Alyse stood and followed the woman in, not sure if Evan was going to follow. "Okay, so who we have have today?" A friendly woman asked, as I got in. She closed the door and told me to place Doom on the table.

She frowned. "Poor thing," She tsked. "Where did you find her?"

"Lying on the ground in a little forested area."

"Well, it looks like you've warmed her up a bit, that's good."

The vet told Alyse to give her a special food mix for young kittens, and to bottlefeed it warm milk because it was still so young. Alyse stroked the small kitten's ears. "You're staying with me," Alyse whispered to the cat. Doom nuzzled Alyse's nose.

See how caring and loving for animals Alyse is? XD

Hope this is all okay with you Maybe, but there isn't a whole lot to do until boltageman gives us the rest of the story

Korah - Metal

Korah let out a whoop of joy as he dove out of the way of a flying snow ball. “Missed me!” he called to Sydney with a grin.

“Only for a second,” Sydney called back as she reached down into the pile of snow Alyse had left and began to form another snow ball.

Suddenly a handful of snow began to float into the air and formed four small balls. Sydney and Korah turned around in surprise as the snow balls floated over to where a new arrival stood. “Will...” Sydney asked in surprise, as the balls of slushed floated over, and hovered above Wills hand, slowly spinning around like they were in orbit.

“But how... Alyse got ice,” Korah whispered, as he walked over to where Sydney was standing, still in shock as they both stared at Will.

“Cosmic,” Will said with a grin, “and I’ve already began to figure it out.”

“I can see that,” Korah growled, once again realizing how much trouble he was having.

“Oh by the way, if I were you, I’d run,” Will murmured with a smile.

Sydney’s eyes went wide and she turned and shoved Korah, sending him crashing to the ground right as a snowball soared by where is head had been. Will just grinned as he stretched out his hand and sent the other three flying after Korah and Sydney.

“Looks like we have another player!” Korah called as he ducked down, scooping up some snow and making it into a ball. “Come on Will! Let’s do this!”

Dylan~ Light

I waited patiently. I was a very patient person and I was in no rush to get my spirit. After hours of sitting an young woman approached wearing long flowing white robes, white hair danced on her shoulders as she approached.

"They have chosen you will take on the spirit of light," she said.

I was happy this was the one I had hoped to get.

The woman placed her hand on my head and I felt my whole body shiver as something entered me.

Peace be with you, a voice rang in my head. I noted that it sounded like a female.

"Now go," said the woman.

I sat under a tree and stared off into the clouds. So you're the light spirit. I asked.

Yes, and you're the host I must live in as the hour of darkness grows near.

I didn't like when people or spirits in this case trotted on my centering time.

I lay there conversing with the spirit when someone's shadow blocked my view of the sun. I looked up to see someone was standing behind me.

Having fun? I heard a voice.
Okay I screamed.
I mean c'mon if you heard a voice in your head you'd scream too.
"What's wrong?" Asked Kor.
"Yeah...you scream loud." Said Will.
I ignored the two of them.
Oh, yeah. It was my "element's voice".
God, I think this was like only the secon time I had talk to him\her.
"Um...yeah I guess." I said.
"Wait, what?" asked Will.
"I'm talking to my element." I replied.
"Ohhhh..."he said.
I nodded and put a finger to my lips so he would stay quiet.
I waited...seconds went by....then minutes.
Finally I decided to ask what I really wanted to ask.
"Element? Um...why did I get soul?" I asked.
"Why me? Why did I have to get such a horrible element. Why am I being punished." I asked.
You are not being punished. Not at all. Soul is probably one of the best elements out there. And you were chosen, because you had the power, inside and out, to use this element for good. You are not quite familiar with it...yet. But when you will be, you will be able to do extraordinary things.
"Um...thanks." I said.

I ducked out of the way as Korah threw a snowball in my direction. It flew harmlessly over my head and crashed into a tree behind me. Sydney was gathering up snow for her own snowball, keeping her eyes firmly on Kor and me.

What else can we do? I asked my element as I jumped to the side, dodging Sydney's white projectile she sent towards me.

We could drive away exhaustion, but not really anything that could directly benefit you at the moment. I'd keep my attention on your friends right now, if I were you, the element answered, its voice once again exactly like mine.

I looked towards Korah just in time for a snowball to hit me in the shoulder. It quickly melted and soaked into my shirt, much to Kor's amusement.

Thanks.

No problem. Just trying to look out for you.

I scooped up two more balls of snow and sent them towards Korah and Sydney. Kor jumped out of the way at the last minute, buy Sydney was to slow and a puff of white exploded on her arm.

"Hey, no fair!" she called, brushing at the snow before it melted completely. "You're using your powers!"

"Your point?" I asked mischievously. Then we both turned to her again as she let out a loud scream.

"What's wrong?" asked Kor worriedly.

"Yeah, you scream loud," I said jokingly. She shot me a dirty look and mumbled something.

"Wait, what?"

"I'm talking to my element," she explained, putting a finger up to her lips to signal for silence. After a few moments of waiting, Kor and I went back to our snowball fight.

Okay that was probably the most akward conversation I had had with my element so far.
I looked at Will and Kor that were fighting again with snowballs so I saw this as a great oppurtunity. I snuck behing both of them and with all the force I had in me shot it at their heads.
It landed with a *thwack* sound.
I started to laugh!
They turned around their expressions angry. And I meant angry.
"Hahaha I got you!" I said.
Will growled at me. Like seriously growled.
"What the heck? Are you guys possesed or something?" I said still laughing.
Then Kor and Will both began to make their way towards me.
"Um..guys?" I said scared now.
"C'mon it was a joke!" I said.
Then they started to run.
I began screaming my head off.
Then they attacked my with snowballs.
"Hahaha you thought we were going to kill you." said Kor laughing like a maniac.
"That was not funny. You guys looked evil. Like you were possesed or something." I said still shaken.
"Oh c'mon. We are just good actors." said Will.
I glared and him and threw a snowball at his head.
"Losers." I mumbled walking away.
Great now I was soaking wet.
Dang! It was cold.
