"Raven! Raven, what's going on?" I shook her like crazy, having come to her room to ask why she was acting so weird. She jolted back and blinked a few times, as if she had been in a daze. Then she looked at me with terrified eyes.

"Is... Is everything okay?" I asked nervously.

She paused, then shook her head.

"What's wrong?"

She shook her head again and got up to leave the room. I stopped her with angry eyebrows, my fury overpowering my pity.

"Tell me, Raven. What's wrong? Why are you being so distant and... mean?"

I saw she was about to cry, highly unlike her, but it just made me more upset.

"Why are you crying? I'm the one who's been shunned! I'm the one who has lost her best friend to something I know nothing about! Now sit down and tell me why you're being so mean!"

I pushed her into a chair. Now she really was crying. Now I felt bad, but I was still more angry than upset, and it showed.

"I-I c-can't... say..." she sobbed, bringing her knees up into the chair and hiding her face in her pant legs. "I mean... I don't... I don't want to get anyone... h-hurt..."

"Why? What is so dangerous that you can't even tell me?" I half screamed. This wasn't like me. But I was angrier than I'd ever been.

"Th-there's... a s-shadow... living in m-me... I'm hear-hearing... voices... I d-don't... want to get anyone... hurt!" She managed through gasps. Now, of all times, my anger depleted. I sat down beside her and put my arms around her.

"How could there be a shadow in you? You aren't taken, that I know."

"It.. it's just a little... bit... Kelly?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm scared."

I gave her a hug for a whole minute, which is a lot longer than it sounds.

"Um...I-I wasn't talking about sucidal. I-uhh..I think you should go after her." I said.
Spencer looked at me and mouthed "thanks" and then walked off leaving me alone.
I wonder what would happen if I jumped off..no one would know...or unleast until they came back to find me, but my thoughts were interepted(sp?) by the sound of someone approaching me.

-JOSEPH-

"Hey, Julie!" Joseph said smiling as he walked over to her. "Uh, sorry for being such a jerk earlier."

"It's okay," she replied. "It uh, really helped me."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah."

"Good. So you're not going to give up?"

She paused a moment.

Maribelle

I decided to go see Julie, she had been thinking about the worst thing possible earlier. I walked to the deck and saw Joseph with her, I remained hidden attempting to hear their conversation.

Julie had a lot of feelings for this guy, but would it be enough to stop her from doing what i think she was planning on doing?

I gave up on eavesdropping and skipped towards them with a smile.

"Hey guys!" I said brightly hoping they wouldn't see through me. Joseph smiled but Julie had a smirk on. I barged in on Julie's mind and searched for what she was doing.

Don't do this Julie, not to Joseph. He cares for you, don't you care about him? Everyone will be devastated if you...go.

"What have you been up to Mari?" Joseph asked.

"Oh nothing really, just trying to keep smiling. Everyone seems down, yah know?" I said, glancing toward Julie's reaction.

I knew what was happening, everyone was falling apart. They were tearing themselves apart for these shadows. Exactly what the shadows wanted. Nothing could stop the wave that was going to crash into us, nothing.

I looked at Mari by grin fading.

Mariablle. I'm sick of everything you know? And Joseph does not care about me. So don't tell me that. Second I just want to kill the freakin' shadows and get it done with. But I will not die in the hands of those creatures. If anything happens to my family back home...then I will have nothing left. Nothing. Then there is not point for me to live, cause I won't have anyone to live for.

And with that thought I got up and began to walk away.
"Hey wait up!" I heard Joseph say.
"What?" I asked.
"Why are you all wet?" I asked.
"Ask Mari. She knows." I said, then walked inside.

You guys were probably expecting this. ;]

Julie
------

I shut the room to my door, and laid down on my bed.
I didn't even care about chaning out of my dripping wet clothes.
I closed my eyes, deciding to take a nap.

1 hour later....

My eyes shot open, and I jolted up right gasping for air.
I had a nightmare.
The worst nightmare ever.
My family back home, they were eating dinner when suddenly shadows got in the house. They ripped out my family's hearts, and killed them.
Emilie was screaming, and so were her mom and dad.
My heart thudded inside my chest.
I had to know if they were okay.
I had refused calling them, because I didn't want to tell them I was saving the world.
My hands shaking I dialed the number on my cellphone.
The phone rang and about 6 rings later I heard a man's voice.
"Hello?"
H-Hello? This is Julie. I am the daughter of the Anderson's house. W-who are you?" I asked.
"I am Officer Smith. Ma'am? I am sorry to day, but your family. They are dead." he said softly.
I didn't say a word.
Nothing.
"Hello? Ma'am are you there? Hello?" asked the officer.
I dropped the phones out of my hand.
Then everything went black and I hit the ground.

*Yeah, but people can wake up. She didn't die or something. Oh, well, I'll change it to add drama anyhoo.*

-JOSEPH-

Why Julie was soaking wet had botherd Joseph, but he didn't know why. There was something... not right, about the whole thing.

Joseph walked from down the hall and, hesitating, did what he thought best. He went inside Julie's room.

Yeah, it was stupid to walk in on someone who was cold, wet, and would be angry at you for eternity afterwards, but hey. Minor details.

"Julie?" he asked quietly. What he saw wasn't worth it. Julie was passed out, sprawled on the floor.

"Julie! Julie, wake up!" Joseph said loudly as he went to his knees and began shaking her.

Yeah...okay whatever.
What is she supposed to do if she fainted?
-----------------------------------------------------

My eyes fluttered opened, and I looked up to see Joseph.

"Julie! What's wrong?" he asked.

I just stared at him to shocked to say anything tears streaming down my face.

Can we get off the boat? Once we get off the boat, I will most likely post. But here's a short one for now.

Spencer

He found himself a quiet spot on the ship, and pathetic as he believed he was, let the tears flow. He sobbed into the front of his elbow, wishing so much that it would stop. But it wouldn't. He'd done something terribly wrong. Why hadn't he gone after Cadence? He'd hidden here. She was suicidal! For all he knew, she was already dangling out of the window, a noose tight around her thin neck.

A black flash him him like a metal rod, quick, and filled with light. He saw Cadence's porcelain face stained with blood, her body mangled and cut. But as he looked closer, the cuts were made of words.

"Ignored me ..."

"... Stares lovingly at Raven ..."

"'But what about Mum and Dad?'"

"... Walked away ..."

Everything he'd done to hurt her was slowly deteriorating her body, until nothing was left. And judging by that vision, a few more blows, and she'd be forever lost.

Spencer hopped out of his seat, but was soon engulfed by the sobs again, so potent this time that he had to lean back against the rail, rest his hands on his knees, and let his tears drip on the deck.

"Are you all right, sir?" A maid asked, walking by.

"Leave me alone!" His voice was harsh. He immediately bit his tongue until the salty taste hit his mouth, his blood dripping through his open mouth.

What I've done ... I hate myself ... Spencer said to himself. He truly did at this point hate himself. It was horrible.
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person.

Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth."

Since when is that short, Rei? That’s a good sized post!

Erm, what god-modding? *Looks around frantically*

-RAVEN-

“I’m sorry, Kelly,” I said, my tough-girl side having jumped out the window. It didn’t usually do that. My breath was still a little shaky as I spoke. “I have to do this, or else I might… I might hurt someone without meaning to. They might get me, and then they’ll get you guys through me--”

“That’s not going to happen,” she said calmly. Easy for her to say. She wasn’t the one who had been given an infested heart to replace hers. She wasn’t the one who had to be exhaustingly strong every breathing moment to keep up a reputation that wasn’t even worth it. But her words comforted me anyways. I tried to grin, but my years of frowning had grown me stiff. I couldn’t even smile now, no matter if I wanted to or not. I burst into a fresh wave a tears that dried immediately when a loudspeaker said,

“Passengers, we will be docking within half an hour. Please pack your bags and get ready to port. Thank you.”

um what you said...
NO GOD-MODDING. There isn’t a protagonist. There are heroes. Include everyone, unless someone’s on the other side of the world, in fight scenes, major story scenes, ect. You can keep it one on one for romance scenes and such, but at least one person watching makes things all the more fun! This as the rule I broke. Repeatedly. Actually, looking back, I think I broke this rule every other post. So watch yourself, because if something is so easy to overlook that even I can break the rule, you know it’s an easy thing to break.
