[spoiler]You all know the story. You all know your characters. Sorry, people, this isn’t open. It’s just a re-write since our last try went haywire. I’ve posted Character-Powers on the discussion thread, and just to be clear, I’m going to go a little more in-depth on the rules. We’ve all (even me) broken them at one point or another… okay, maybe SOMEone magically stuck to the rules, all the good writers who’ve done this before – so let’s start off with a clean slate. Okay? And I promise to be careful to follow these rules, too!

RULES IN DETAIL

1) NO GOD-MODDING. There isn’t a protagonist. There are heroes. Include everyone, unless someone’s on the other side of the world, in fight scenes, major story scenes, ect. You can keep it one on one for romance scenes and such, but at least one person watching makes things all the more fun! This as the rule I broke. Repeatedly. Actually, looking back, I think I broke this rule every other post. So watch yourself, because if something is so easy to overlook that even I can break the rule, you know it’s an easy thing to break.

2) NO SEXUAL SCENES. I even hate writing this; you see how sensitive I am. Surely someone else is too? With our characters young age and single status, this shouldn’t even be a question. But I think I should include it.

3) NO REFERENCE. And to that, I mean reference to the above stated topic. Anything related, keep it to yourself. No one wants to hear it… okay someone does, but not anyone who has half a brain left like the awesome people who are writing this story!!!!! Yes, one fourth of my brain is gone… I think the cat ate it…

4) NO EXRTREME VIOLENCE. Uhhhh... nothing to extreme. Simple as that. Don't go crazy, and don't go into details.

5) NO LANGUAGE. Don’t curse, cuss, bad mouth, or make me make an avatar that shows my avatar washing your avatars mouth out with puke flavored soap. Anything, ‘oh my [backwards dog]’, ‘oh [rhymes with wrap]’, ‘what the [rhymes with belle]’, don’t say it!!!!! I mean it!!! This is the most commonly forgotten one, and it really ticks me off!

6) IF YOU CAN’T POST FOR THREE DAYS OR MORE, contact me, TexanWriter. By that I mean PM me. If you do, make your character go into a coma and wake up in a week. If you don’t, your character(s) will be killed, or taken up by other people. I will alert you if this unfortunate thing should ever happen.

7) KEEP ALL DISSCUSSION ON THE DISSCUSSION THREAD. Please, don’t clutter this forum with comments and debates. That happened last time. And we’re starting over.

Every time you break a rule, even by accident, I'll bug you and bug you and bug you. You don't want that, do you?

Have fun everyone!!

I looked around at the teenagers around me.
Us. It was up to us to save the world, and to stop these shadows from taking over.
I cleared my throat, "Ehhmm...so um, let's get to know each other! What are your guy's powers? I can "read" minds...and sense shadows." I said.
"Cool." said a guy with blue eyes.
"Yeah I guess." I said grinning.
"So...c'mon anyone? Powers?" I asked.

I thought we were going to start over from the beginning... better post to keep from breaking the rules!

Raven
---

I stared at the moon. There was nothing quite like it, the moon. Full and beautiful. I was sitting on the concrete sidewalk. Just sitting. Like nothing mattered. I raised my hand and blew a few leaves around to spell pointless messages, like Peace, or Go Green. I grinned. Life felt right at the moment.

---

Sorry for the short post, but I didn't know which direction to go! This works as a neutral, no names mentioned. What did we decide to do exactly, start over from the beginning or pick up here?

GARY~~

I looked up at the moonlit sky it was so peaceful so clearing but also so off and strange. I wondered how everything stayed up in that sky and looked so good so pure so wondrous and endless. I sighed i knew i would never be able to truly know the answer, i could look it up in a book but those facts meant nothing to me i needed to feel it. I looked back down from the sky and saw as the water came closer to us as the plane feel to the ground. I grabbed my carry on and then walked to the exit. The panic around me was endless and very strange to me, i never got stress it made no sense why worry when you could just relax. I felt the plane hit the water and saw the splash that rose up then thusly pounded on the roof like it was just a rainy day in April. I climbed out of the plane just before the shadows reached where i was, only able to graze me before i dove into the endless beauty of the sea lit by the sunrise. i slowly swan away from the panic that was slowly dieing, with no where to run the shadows slowly enclosed on the other passengers sending them into a state that was zombie like but so peaceful. I wished i could feel it but if i ever were to i would regret it, no matter how at peace i was. As i reached the shore that was not to far from the crash i began to felt the sand on my feet and i felt better and more lively like i was a fish out of water in the water and was only good on the ground.

She clutched the knife in her quivering hand. Defenseless whatsoever, her mother loomed over her. Her face was dark with a shadow she'd never seen. Cadence cowered away when her mother grasped her pajama shirt collar. The night was surprisingly humid. Cadence, however, felt a cool sweat rise to her brow.

Spencer was standing at the bottom of the ladder. Cadence had hesitated so much that these dark shadowy versions of her parents had caught up. Spencer held out his arms, calling to her. Cadence had to take one squinted glance down before her world began spinning. She slipped off the ladder rung and plummeted down, into darkness. She had no idea where Spencer was, so she let out a scream, the loudest that she'd ever heard herself make. Surely the neighbours would wake.

Cadence risked a peeked. The world tumbled before her, blurring the night gray so she could not make out a single aspect of it. She crashed down to the ground. Spencer gasped. He fumbled to pick her up, but Cadence was having a panic attack. She was known for this. She did it often. She panicked and everything shut down. She could not function.

But a dark figure clawed at Spencer's neck. He pulled Spencer away, dropping Cadence's limp body to the ground. Spencer's face was strained as he fought for breath. Their mother was climbing down the ladder rungs, slowly and with precision. What happened to the plump and caring British mother they'd once had? Was this some sort of American addiction they hadn't known about?

Her mother reached the body, her hand outstretched towards Cadence. Suddenly, she shifted. Into a burly man, sweaty, his chest covered with hair. "You'll join us tonight!" he cried as he snapped up Cadence's wrist, fighting for the knife.

Cadence swung it around, slitting the wrist and hand of her killer. Surely this wasn't her mother. Her mother-- and father, for that fact-- had never practised black magic. Spencer let out an exasperated gasp. He couldn't breath.

But Cadence had no idea was to do. She closed her eyes tight, pulled herself into a ball, her mind screaming out, Save me, Lord, Save me! She felt the ground shift. Was she being picked up now? Surely not. Her limbs were still held tighly in place.

She heard two cries. None belonged to Spencer. She snuck a peek. Cadence sat in a small divot in the ground, a dome of hard clay around her. Spencer had the same. "W-What was that?" Spencer stammered. However, Cadence scrambled up the side of the clay dome, leaving her manners behind in the midst. "Dunno. Let's go!" She grabbed at Spencer's wrist, shivering the whole way they ran down the street.

House lamps were turning on, doors opening. People called out to the twins running down the streets. "What in the world was that giant crash!" A lady with curlers in her hair asked. Cadence tripped, stumbled, scraped her knees and hands, but pulled herself back up. Her tanktop strap was falling. She pulled it back up, never caring about her muddy hands on the silk top.

"Where are we going?" Spencer asked, shrugging Cadence's grasp off and running alongside her. She shrugged. She did no trust her voice. It wouldn't be there when she opened her mouth. She continued running until she saw a warehouse. She pulled Spencer over to it. "Let's go in here."

They pushed open the door, no idea of what may await them on the other side.

*I agree. This is confusing. Clean slate, okay? This is Raven's and my new character, Kelly's, average day. I posted Kelly's profile on the disscussion thread. We, all of us, I think, have decided that we are starting completely over, but… can we keep the couples? Bring them in later?*

---x---

Raven and Kelly at the same time, mostly Raven explaining that world
---

Walking back to her apartment from her job at Commercial X Inc., Raven shivered at the icy air. Not wind, air. Asylums had been popping up left and right to hold all the people who had been driven insane by the Dark Thing residing in them for to long. That’s what Raven called it. The Dark Thing. She had gotten it. And it had left. It did leave its mark on her, though. Her personality changed forever.

On this bustling suburb sidewalk, it was normal for her to feel the Dark Thing. It always made her freezing cold when it was around, probably because it attacked her on the coldest night of winter. Attack. The perfect word to describe what it did.

She walked through the quiet suburban area, the air warming up slightly. Things had gone pretty well today; she had to go to Massachusetts to help film a new chocolate commercial. She walked through a mud puddle, her black jeans turning bright brown near the bottom. She wore a black denim jacket over a black T-shirt, and black sneakers. Black, black, black… but that was how she felt most of the time so she showed others through her fashion decisions.

A charcoal grill was burning in someone’s backyard, polluting the air with good smelling fumes. Raven paused for a moment to take everything in. Puddles rested here and there from last night’s storm. One man was trimming his hedges and listening to music, which Raven could hear from where she stood, fifteen feet away. A few kids sat out on the front of their house looking depressed and tired. They were taken. How sad. Raven continued to walk to the huge apartment building a block ahead.

The continued walk was uneventful, things spicing up when Raven reached the door of the building. She had forgotten her key. “Please let Kelly be home”, she thought as she pressed the telecom button.

“Kelly?” she spoke. “You home?”

Hey, roomy!” it was Kelly at the other line. “…It IS you, right, Raven?

“Yes, it’s me,” said Raven. “I forgot my key this morning.”

Prove it!” said Kelly. Well, it was certainly Kelly. No one else could be that lightly suspicious but her.

“Okay, fine,” Raven said. “I’m gothic. I look like I just saw a ghost. I left my key on my nightstand and I know about the Dark Thing. Can I come in now?”

Raven waited there outside for a few minutes, though it seemed like an eternity when a pizza guy who had been taken by the Dark Thing came up and delivered his pizza.

“…How did you remember where your key was?” asked Kelly after coming down and unlocking the door.

“Because I always keep it on my nightstand,” Raven replied as she walked in. “Hey, guess what?”

“What?” Kelly was in her usual good mood.

“We’re going to Massachusetts!” Kelly only looked at Raven with ‘are you messing with me?’ eyes. “I’m serious! Harley said I could bring you along to the shoot if you got the coffee.”

Kelly’s eyes just widened as they reached their room.

“The secretary’s sick,” Raven explained. “We need coffee for actual shoots. This one’s really extravagant, from six AM to eleven PM. So are you coming?”

“Sure!” Kelly said as they went to the mini kitchen, aka microwave and mini fridge. “But let’s bring a laugh kit.”
That got her questioning eyes from Raven.

“Laugh kit? Joke books? Scratch-n’-sniff stickers? Every-Possible-Flavor jellybean for ‘Truth or Bean’ or pranks?”

Raven chuckled, a pretty rare sight. “Okay, Kelly, we’ll bring one of your laugh kits. Start packing, we leave tomorrow.”

---x---

Anyone see where I’m going with this? Surely someone sees!

LaReina, there is no suck thing as weird posts on this story. Just look at what they’re going to be fighting! I like what you did with their mom. Works!

Maribelle

She didn't think of why she wanted to be in a tree but, she did. It was definitely a tad bit too high for her own liking, but it was her most peaceful and happy place. She let her legs swing freely feeling the storm coming on, as thunder struck she laughed. A memory of her older brother telling her the angels were bowling and whenever thunder struck it meant they were winning. She wiped her sleeve on her now wet eyes, but still kept on a smile.

"I miss you Jarrett." She whispered as the rain began to pour. Tears began to trickle down her face, but she couldn't keep a smile. Mari chewed on her lip trying to get happy again but, couldn't so she felt it was time to go. With her eyes all blurry she tried her hardest to get down, but it didn't work as well as she thought it would. The branches were slippery, her foot slid off the branch and she lost her balance.

Maribelle tumbled down but, wasn't able to get to the ground. She got tangled in the tree's branches, she groaned as her nerves sent the pain to her brain. She knew this would hurt but, she slid her arms and legs off the branches and fell to the ground with a loud "thud".

She rolled to her side as the pain increased, not only was she sad but now she was in pain.

Just perfect... She thought as she closed her eyes trying to ignore the tremendous pain.

Is that good?

The locker stuff is what really happened to be today! =]
I had a suprise partyy! =]
------------------------

I took a deep breath, and walked into my highschool.
"Hey!" said about ten people to me, as I walked to my locker.
I smiled at them, and then walked to my locker, to see it covered with really pretty wallpaper, and other things.
I smiled...Emilie and Andrea.
Yup, they had decorated my locker.
I opened my locker, and found the usual dumpster of mine, neat as a pin, with candy stuck on the walls.
Haha...that was Rashmi and Emily.
I took a butterfinger, and began to nibble on it.
----
I began walking home from school.
All of a sudden, the bright sky, became dark gray.
Ugh...thunder.
My house was a good two miles away.
I took out my raincoat and put it on.
That's when I felt it.
I whipped my head around, and yes.
There he was....a guy...who had been taken by the shadow.
"Crud." I muttered (crud is ok righttt?)
Whenever a shadow was around, I felt a tingling sensation in my entire body.
He looked at me...grinning.
My eyes widened and I began to run, as fast as my legs could take me.
Tears began to form in my eyes, as I felt the wind whip against my face.
He wanted to get me...he wanted to make me one of them...a shadow.
I could feel his feet thudding against the pavement.
I burst forward, and down my street.
I threw the door open, then smashed it close.
I lay on the ground breathing heavily.
I checked to make sure he was gone.
He was.
"Thank goodness." I said.

GARY~~

Gary slowly wadded through the lose sand as it clung to him. He hated the sand after a swim, the sand always clung to ever part of him in the worst places. He could see the road now not to far away from him, the lights from the cars where not many in number but there were a few coming by. He ran forward and got to the road and put his thumb up in classic hitch hiker position and waited. About half an hour later he was finally picked up. it was a single man in his 30s and as soon as Gary saw him he felt uncomfortable for one of two reasons which he could not tell. The man drove and 18 wheeler, and in every show he had seen they were to pervs plus he was also slightly off and distant dark and ominous also. He got in and then man was silent not speaking as he drove while the radio blasted country music. Gary just kept his eyes on the road making the occasion glance at the man.

About twenty minutes later they stopped. The were in the middle of nowhere, the place had no cars and was very dark and the black seemed to cling to the ground. The man at the steering wheel climbed out and then a second later he pulled Gary out of his side. It was not till he was outside though that Gary realized that the shadows around him were the shadows. The began to move off the ground and form into human like shapes. they came at him while the trucker held him in place. Gary began to feel fear overwhelm him and the shadows swarmed him and began to climb up from his feet swirling around him. Suddenly he felt at peace for a moment and the fear left and it was replaced by power he had never felt. though quickly it left him and pain and fear came back to him, Gary screamed out in the pain and suddenly he heard a tearing sound. He quickly somehow began to raise up with the rocks under him the trucker staying down and the shadows falling off.he was now trapped in the air as the shadows began to climb the pillar he stood on helplessly.

ehhh..wow...hmmm...julie to the rescue!

My bff emilie and I were driving around, when i saw some guy at the edge of a pillar hanging. then i felt it...the shadows.
"Crud!" i said outloud.
"what?" asked emilie.
i shaked my head.
if i didn't save him he would become a victim.
i jumped out of the car.
how was i going to stop the shadows though???
without thinking i jumped in front of them.
"emilie help the guy up!" i shouted as i got the shadows to come after me.
i ran to the edge of a cliff as fast as i could then skidded to a stop, unlike the shadows who had no time to realize what was going on. they chased after me, and then fell down a cliff.
mission accomplished i thought grinning

*This is made to work with LaReinas post, which is still stuck in my head even though she deleted it.*

I looked out the plane window, my knees bouncing with excitement. We were going to Massachusetts! Raven sat beside me, asleep. Why did she have to get a sleeping disorder? There was so much to see, so little time to see it.

Everyone on the plane looked alert, happy and or angry at someone else for bringing them along. That was a good sign. No on had been taken by the Dark Thing. I pulled my leg up and set it on the seat. Resting my chin on my knee I let my gaze travel out the window.

The clouds made dragons that looked like Elvis and trains in skirts. I chuckled. The guy behind us was snoring loudly, and, giving a huge “Ssnkkt!”, woke Raven. She jerked up and put her hand to her head.

“Soooo…” I said, trying to make conversation, being bored out of my mind. “What exactly do you have that makes you so sleepy again?”

“Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome,” she replied, her voice groggy. “Naturally I would sleep from 4 in the morning to noon, and when I wake myself up any earlier I’m exhausted the rest of the day.” She slumped further into her seat.

“Then how are you going to do this shoot?”

She cracked a grin. Uh oh. When she grinned she became sarcastic.

“With your help, coffee girl!” I laughed aloud at this, remembering my promise. We both took a nap.

>Later<

I walked into the warehouse to set up the green screen. Harley had just finished shooting a scene in a park, and our actors were taking a break.

“Sure you don’t want some help?” I had gotten the usual spiel.
“You know, it would be a lot easier with a ladder.” I brought a ladder.
“You can’t even lift the sheet!” I brought a few burly guys to carry in the screen, then sent them away.
“How are you ever going to put it up there?”
“SHUT UP, ROALD!!” That guy could really get on my nerves…

I sipped my coffee before I set it on the floor. The giant green screen was rolled up like a rug on one end of the room, a box of nuts and screws beside it. I placed my left foot behind me, stood on my toes and bent my knees. With a quick look around to see no one in sight, I faced the palms of my hands forward and looked at the screen.

It rose ten feet in the air and unraveled itself. I could feel my energy level go down as I lifted this monstrous thing. The two top corners lifted themselves to the steel beam near the roof. I focused the energy in one of my hands to carry all the weight of the screen, my other hand pointed at the box of screws. I moved my fingers as if I were playing scales on a keyboard and the screws went through metal rings on the top and holes in the beam. I flicked the hand and nuts went and twisted themselves to the back of the screws.

Exhausted, I stopped my concentration and sat down, taking another sip of coffee. Now I had to wait a few hours to make it look like I did it by hand. No one knew of my abilities.

“How did you do that?” I turned my head to see a blonde guy walk towards me.

“Who are you?” I asked. The air was still as warm as ever. He wasn’t taken by the Dark Thing.

“I asked the question first,” he said flatly. “So tell me how you did that, and I’ll tell you who I am.”

I looked at him. He looked like an honorable guy. Maybe he wouldn’t ruin my life if I told him.

“Telekinesis,” I answered. “And your name is…?”

“Spencer.”

That brought up a series of “Why are you here?” “What Dark Thing?” “Yeah, I know about it too.”

---

*Yes, I ended it kind of abruptly, but that’s all I could think of. What do you think, LaReina?*
