Hi Jenny! I'm Kat *shakes hand* I'm from Portugal *nods* Ooh, fantastic and horror stories! Awesome. I suggest you check the groups, I'm pretty sure you'll find at least one that may include those categories. How to check the groups, you ask?

Well, you click on the clicky thing that says 'My YWS' and select 'My profile settings'. On this new page thing, there'll be a section that says 'Usergroups' right on top of the first box thing. Click it. You select the groups you want to join on the section section of the page, the one that says 'Non-memberships' and scroll down. At the end of the page, there'll be a thing saying submit with an option selector before. And that's how it's done!

Anyway, if you check the previous pages, you'll find the rules laid out for you Now, I also suggest you check out the 'The Buddy System', for a bit of extra help around.

Hi everyone! It's time for me to make an awkward introduction post (I'm pretty bad at these...)

I'm Amy, I live in the UK and I'm brand new to the world of internet writing. Usually the only people I let read my stories are my close friends, so I'm going to have to really psyche myself up to post something on here. I've spoken to a couple of people in the chat room, and everyone is so lovely, I think I'll be visiting this site very often.

Thanks Conrad It was great talking in chat. I'm busy trying to find stories to review now, I'm quite paranoid in case I say something too harsh and someone gets offended! Though almost everything I've read here so far is great.

Don't worry about saying stuff that might be too harsh. I think I can safely say that if you manage to make a name for yourself with harsh reviews so soon, I will be extremely surprised, haha. Just be honest. That's the best thing you can do in a review.

I'm new as well and feel the same as you - I barely ever let anyone read my writing, yet I get quite offended that although all of my closest friends know I write all the time - none of them offer to read anything.
Something odd must be going on in my mind! What kind of stuff do you like to write

Hey AmberJane, nice to meet another newbie I know, my friends are all very supportive and lovely but only a few actually read anything.

I like to write real-life-type stories, though last night I started writing one with some supernatural, er, -ness in it. What type of stuff do you write?

Oo, I love reading real-life stories like that but I usually write romance stories but hopefully not in the cliché 'everything has a happy ending' kind of way, I try and have something to cry over at the end :p

Hey! Welcome to YWS, this is an awesome place and we hope you'll feel welcome here. I'm Hope, and I'm here to tell you our rules really quick.

1) The 3:1 ratio. You want to do three reviews for every one work you post.

2) Plz no cht spk OR CAPS LOCK. That means good grammar, capitalization, apostrophes and no overuse of punctuation (no like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). This also applies in the chat room. (You might want to shape up your grammar a bit, this is a writers site after all )

3) Rate your work appropriately. E (everyone), 12+, 16+ or 18+.

4) Be nice, no flaming other members, and keep the swearing where it goes, in your stories.

5) Have fun! (Most important rule of all)

Hiya Missy! You can post something if you have two reviews. Don't make your posts too long or short because people will be turned off. I suggest more than two reviews before so you can get a little more practice and experience on this site. Have fun!
