Hey Em, welcome to YWS!

The 2:1 ratio is actually now the 3:1 ratio! Although it isn't totally hardcoded into the site, it is recommended that you stick to this. Basically it means that once you've done 3 reviews (they need to be over 250 characters or 3 lines) then you can post some of your story. Generally it's best to post your story one chapter at a time because it's hard for people to review entire novels / long pieces of work.

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions then PM me!

~Amy

Thanks I'll remember that the ratio is 3:1. And do my reviews longer too. :D

Nice to meet you too.

Hi there! :) My name's Amanda and I'm new (boy, aren't I captain obvious). Urm, what to say, what to say.

I mostly write-- hmm. I don't have a specific genre or anything. I flit around a lot. Horror, Romance, Humor - Those are the ones I usually stick to.

So yes. Nice to meet y'all! :)

Hello all. I am just a young man beginning to dive into the realms of poetry. I tend to avoid poems about love, suicide, and depression, just because they do not fit my taste, and are ever too common in todays world of poetry. If you want to read something refreshing, at least in my opinion...check out a poem of mine...thanks!

Hey there! Welcome to YWS! It's wonderful that you like to write, let's say, original poetry; there's always a lot of the same going around so a change is always lovely. But, don't worry, there are a lot of great poems on here for you to review as well. Check Snoink's post at the start for all of the rules and everything; there aren't many, so don't despair! But feel free to PM me if you need any help, or you want me to review a poem of yours! I can't wait to see you around, so have fun!
*high fives*

Four kinds of people I hate most in life.
1. People who use a preposition to end a sentence with.
2. People who can't count.
3. People who think it's 'clever' to quote ironic phrases.

Hi, I'm Chinese, but I'm typing this in the US. It's a long story. ;)

This site is so big! It's a little overwhelming but...I'm sure I'll get used to it pretty soon. :)

I absolutely love writing fanfiction! I'm so happy you guys have one of those forums! I'll probably be posting some work today, after some reviews are done, of course. Yes, I noticed some of the previous posts here. :D

One quick question: Should I, like, post a new topic in this Welcome Mat? I've noticed a lot of other new people doing that, but I don't know if I have to or not. Thank you!
Fruits Basket totally rocks! If you don't think so, too bad.

This site has changed so much since I last had an account here - and so many new people! Anyway, I've been writing for most of my life. My mother could of sworn that I came out of the womb with a paper in one hand and a pencil in the other. I write mostly poetry with a slice of urban surrealism and historical fiction. It'll be nice to get back into the groove of things and meet some awesome folks.
