Not your fault. She replied leaning towards him. I'll put up with it for you. Only you.

Love you. He smiled kissing her neck.

Love you too. Not your family, yet. She replied with a smile.

"Let's go kids." Layton's parents said. She followed him as they walked towards the car.

Tanner chuckled as the truck roared to life and jerked onto the road, shooting forward. Layton smiled over at Chevy and rested her head on his shoulder while Tanner kissed Leal passionately. "Geez you two get a room," Layton laughed at both Leal and Tanner, whose faces were a light red.

Leal smiled at them and hten kissed TAnner again. "I know I'm stuck with him forever, so why not get the best of it." She luahged holding him tight.

"Get a room though, good thing we aren't with mom and dad." Layton laughed.

"We wouldn't be that stupid." She smiled.

Layton laughed lightly and pulled in front of a nice little restraunt with and array of cars around it and jumped out of her truck, Chevy soon at her side and Tanner and Leal behind them. "Kids! Over here! Hurry up!" Layton's mother ushered them over to a table where Landon and George already sat. George was glaring at Chevy, but looked back at his menu bitterly.

--

Tanner growled playfully in Leal's ear and ran his hand down her arm, happy that he made chill bumps rise. He burst into loud laughter, only to get a scolding from his adopted mom.

Leal smiled and looked through her menu spotting somethign she wanted then sitting it down.

"So, what can I get y'all to eat?" The waistress asked.

"Water for me." She said softly.

"Same here." Chevy replied.

"Me too." Tanner replied. She leaned against Tanner and smiled at him.

"So, Leal, I haven't heard you say anything about parents, how are they?" His mom asked.

Did they have to ask that? SHe asked Tanner.

Why? He asked.

"She's adopted." Chevy said.

Oh. Tanner said.

"What happened to your parents?" His mom asked. Leal clenched her fist.

"I don't know." She replied.

"Well didn't they tell you?" George asked.

"My parents abandoned me in an ally way where a bunch of druggies were." She said starting to get a little mad.

Mom, Dad! You don't have to go into that! It's obviously a touchy subject! Layton growled mentally at her parents, who glared at her. "Okay, okay. Moving on. Chevy, how old are you?"

"Nineteen."

"Ah legal drinking age huh?" Layton's father said gruffly. "You drink?"

"No sir. I mean... I'm not an alcoholic. I have the occasional drink with my brothers, but nothing to out of control," Chevy smiled lightly.

"Hmm... and are you a drop-out? Of highschool I mean," Layton glared at her mother.

"No ma'am. I finished my last year... well... last year."

"Are you going to attend college. If you are, which one, if not, where do you plan to work?"

--

Tanner gave Leal an apologetic look and pecked her on the cheek, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly.

Leal leand against him wanting to rip their throats out. She never wanted to talk about her parents. they weren't worht the dirt they walked on.

Chevy shrugged. "I'm quiet sure what I want to do yet. Probably will go into something with Animals. I like animals and I guess you could say I have a way with them. But I want to work on the reservation, the foreset part of it. Be a ranger or something."

Tanner laughed lightly at how angry she was and kissed her neck. Calm down okay? They may be rude, but they don't deserve to have their throats ripped out just yet. He felt her calm down, but not by much.

--

"And how much money will you make off that?" Layton groaned into her hands and rubbed her face.

"A reasonable amount, sir."

"Hmm," Mother began, "Enough to support a family?"

"Mom, please!" Layton harshly whispered across the table.

Chevy chuckled. "It's fine, Layton, yes. It doesn't take much to live here even if I wasn't making millions." He repleid.

"Making millions?" Her dad eyed him.

"That's an exaduration, but it would be easy to live off whta i would make." He replied.

Leal sighed leaning against him. It's hard to talk about my parents. I don't know much about them. I tried finding them a while back. I was dropped off when I was six. I remember it way to well. She sent him the memory.

'Mommy, where are we going?' A younger Leal said following her parents down the road.

'To see some of our friends.' Her mom snapped back.

'Sorry' She said looking down. Her parents stepped back into an ally way where ther ewere several druggies.

'Sit here.' Her dad said sitting her on trash bin.

'Where are you going?' She asked.

'We'll be back. Don't go anywhere.' Her mom said turning and leaving without another look. She sat for two days, before there was a police raid.
That's when she cut off the memory.

Tanner excused himself and Leal from the table, walking her outside and over to the truck. How could her parents be so cruel. He pressed her up against the truck and kissed her passionately. "I'm so sorry that happened to you," he whispered, kissing her neck gently.

------

Dad nodded slowly and Layton glared at him. "Will you be loyal to my daughter." At this Layton blushed and Chevy nodded.

"Yes sir. As long as I live." Okay, so it sounded a bit corny even though it was true, which made Layton let out a small laugh.

"What are your views on kids," by this point Layton had burried her head in embarrassment that her parents were asking these kind of questions.

Chevy took a deep breath and leaned back. "Listen, I'm takin all this one day at a time. I'm not planning kids any time soon. To tell you the truth, at this point my goal is college." He replied.

Leal leaned her head to the side. "You are way to perfect." She whispered ksising him and pulling him close. I don't like thinking about what happened. She said softly.

"I figured." he smiled ebfore kissing her again.

Layton's mom and dad nodded in sync at each other and then looked back at Chevy. "Okay... Landon's going to ask the questions and you've got to answer them as best as possible." Landon moved over to in front of Chevy and smirked. Oh God Mr. Personal. Watch out, he might ask some trick questions. She said to Chevy worridly. Chevy just smiled at her.

"Okay kid. Who's been the most influential person to you?" Landon smirked widely.

---

Tanner smiled lightly and took her hand in his, kissing her again. "We better get back in there before something bad happens," he laughed and led the way back to their seats.

Chevy smiled and sat forward. "If you mean as a role model, I'd say my dad. If you mean left the biggest impact on my life so that I can't live without them, that'd have to be Layton." He replied leaning back with a smile. He watched Leal sit down and she leaned against Tanner.

I think they are going to leave you alone sense they screwed up so bad. he said to her. She nodded a little.

"What's Leal to you?" Landon asked catching the look CHevy gave Leal.

"My sister." He replied.

Layton smiled lightly but soon frowned again as Landon held up a finger. "Don't smile like that Layton. I'm far from being done. So Chevy, it was your family that adopted Leal?"

"Yes, yes it was."

"Okay, Leal, Chevy. This is for both of you. What day would you love to live again?"

Leal looked at him and crossed her arms. Oh, so your mommy and daddy's little angel, never can do anything wrong? She said in his head.

SHut up and answer the question, orphan. He smiled.

"Day I would want to live again would be the day at Ma's." She replied

Chevy smiled at her joke about when him and Tanner had got in a fight. "Um, same. It's an inside joke, you'd have to be ther.e"
