Shifting Times

Chevy pulled Layton's lips to his own kissing her. "Your a pain." He smiled.

"thank you very much. You are too." She laughed as she sat up on his chest. He grunted and tried wiggling away.

Come, lazy. She laughed running faster. He luahge dand sped up. They stopped at her house and she pointed towards her brothers old room. Borrow some of his clothes, he won't care. She ran to her room and got dressed quickly then got up and walked back out to the living room.

Tanner pulled on a pair of jeans and looked around the room for a shirt. He saw a tank on the floor, that was way to small for any guy, and pulled it over his head as a joke. It hardly covered his stomach. "Leal!" He pretended to cry. "It won't fit!" He ran out of the room and turned in a circle.

Layton laughed lightly and stood up, helping Chevy to his feet. She spun him around and jumped on his back again, holding on tight. Thankfully he didn't fall this time. "Onwards my steed!" She commanded only to burst into laughter soon after.

Leal laughed and pulled it off him. "That's mine!" SHe laughed. She tossed it in her room and dragged him back in her brothers room grabbing a wife-beater (tank top) and handed it to him. She had a tank top on, and shorts. "Come on lets go."

Chevy burst into laughter and he started running around the house and then went through the house and outside laughing. He ignored the glare from Ranger and ran towards Leal's house.

Layton stuck her tongue out sourly at Ranger as they ran passed him. Right when they got to Leal house she jumped off Chevy's back and pounded on the door. "I'm coming to eat you all!" She shouted and leaned against it, still pounding. Tanner opened the door, which made Layton fall to the ground, and began to laugh. "Where ya going?" She questioned, looking at at Leal and Tanner.

"Dunno. Probably to the diner." Layton nodded and then looked at Leal.

"Can I borrow some clothes? I think these clothes are a little to big."

*sobs*

Leal laughed and opened the door wide. "Come on in." She smiled pulling him in. She got her some clothes then went back to the living room wrapping her arms around Tanner's waist leaning against him.

"So where are oyu takin her to eat?" LEal asked Chevy.

"Ma's place." Chevy smiled.

"Good, that's the only good place around." Leal smiled.

Layton walked back out of Leal's room and smiled widely, bounding over to Chevy and jumping on his back yet again. "You guys wanna come with us?" She asked, smiling.

"Sure I guess," Tanner smirked, looking over at Leal. "You want to go?" Leal shrugged indifferently and smiled.

"I guess. It's not like there's anything else to do," at that everyone began to laugh.

Leal smiled as they walked out of the house and nearly ran into Ranger.

"Where are y'all going?" Ranger growled.

"That doesn't matter, you aren't in charge of us." Chevy growled.

"You see, Leal and this guy, that's ok, their both whites. But it's not right for a Navajo to be a with a white. I don't like this!" Ranger growled.

"Your RACISTS!" Leal hissed. Tanner pulled her back and she frowned.

"My shifter doesn't care what color she is. I love her and you aren't changing that, not get the hell out of our way." Chevy hissed.

Layton had had it with this idiot. She just felt like ripping his throat out. With a quick movement of her leg Layton knocked Ranger's legs out from under him, sending him to the ground with a grunt. She jumped on top of him and glared. "For your information, my mother is full Navajo and my dad's half Navajo, so that makes me three-quater Navajo and one-quater white. Another thing that you can add to your little mental notes; Chevy imprinted on my and I imprinted on him." Ranger's enraged look turned into disbelief. Tanner and Chevy pulled Layton away from Ranger and towards the diner, Layton fighting against their grip the whole way.

Chevy held Layton close to him so that he didn't get away. "Hey, relax, ok?"

"No!" She hissed.

"It's just Ranger, he doesn't matter." He said as tehy walked into the cafe.

"it's good to see y'all have straightened things out." Ma said walking over.

"We want whatever is the special." Leal smiled.

"Comin right up." Ma replied turning and wlaking to the kitche.

Layton dug her nails into the table and glared out the window, taking in short breaths. "I can't stand Ranger. Stupid man, that's what he is. Don't want anyone coming on the res unless they're full Navajo. He can kiss my a-"

"Okay! Here it is!" Ma came back with four burgers and fries and four milkshakes, sliding them to everyone.

"Thank you, Ma," Chevy and Leal chorused before laughing lightly. Layton picked up a fry and bit into it angrily, deciding to vent her anger into the food before her.

Chevy kissed Layton's cheek and gave her a hug. "Relax, love."

"No." Sh ereplied biting into her hamburger.

"Please." He aske dosflt.y


Layton ate her food as she smiled at Tanner listening to Chevy try and calm down Layton.


*Tears*

Layton sighed, giving in, and smiled lightly up at Chevy. "Fine," she murmured, kissing him on the cheek. Layton dipped her finger into the whip cream that sat atop the milk shake and smeared it all over Chavy's face, beginning to laugh.

Tanner laughed along with Layton, pointing at Chevy, and dipped his on finger into his milkshake, wiping the whip cream off, onto Leal's face.

Leal growled whiel seh was laughing and then covered his face. She smiled as she looked at the others.

"Don't get my place to dirty." Ma laughed as she walked by.

"Yes ma'am." They all laughed.

Layton laughed loudly and fingered the whip cream on Chevy's face, sticking her finger in her mouth. "The milkshakes are delicious Ma!" She shouted, only to have Ma laugh in reply.

Tanner smiled deviously at Leal and looked over at Chevy. "Hey, Leal and Layton are really dirty, I think they need to take a dip and clean off."

"I think you're right," Chevy laughed.

"No!" Leal and Layton shouted in usion, gripping the seat below them.

CHevy laughed and picked up Layton ignoring her stuggling as he ran out the door Tanner behind him. They ran all th e way to the pond and threw the girls in.


Leal laughed. "I"m gonna kill you Tanner!" She screamed getting out and jumping on him knocking him over then pulling him towards the pond.
