"Who are you tto decide who can hang around me? You haven't contacted me my whole life. I'm supposed to trust you? I had to find you, did you know that I have spent my whole life trying to find you?" Nyla burst out into angry tears.
Who were these people, these so called parents who had never contacted her?
The couple became concerned. "Don't cry Nyla," the woman said gently.
"No, you don't tell me what to do!" cried Nyla hysterically. Paul hugged her against him, and she cried herself out. Her parents stayed in their chairs doing nothing.
When she quieted down she sung against Paul. She had no energy, no will, there was nothing left to give. Not even tears.
"My name is Genivieve. As you may have already guessed, we are your parents," started the woman tentavily.
