Paul nodded. "I don't want you to get your hopes way up high only to have them crashing down. I can't garentee I'll find them. THat's what I tell everyone." He smiled finishing his food and sitting back in his chair. "All I can do is my best, and that is my plan." He studied her face. If she looked half as much as her family then it wouldn't be hard to find them. SHe had a strange beauty about her. It was magnificant. Amazing to say the least. He didn't know how to describe it, but there was just something totally different about her.

**Sorry it is short, its hard to write this with little information about her. THat is good though because it makes my brain work**

***I know what you mean. If it makes it easier I have a picture of her in the Art and Photo section. Its called faerie girl. ****

Nyla met his stare and he looked away, as if he were studing the window behind her shoulder. She shook her head and her blonde hair swayed.

"If you find something, contact me immediatly," Nyla said.

"Promise," said Paul.

Nyla smiled as he stood up to exit out the door. Somehow, she felt as if there were a bond between the two, and shook it off. Maybe, maybe, when finding her past became a reality she would have time for that. Smiling at the thought, she turned to watch Paul Rose leave her driveway from her window.

Paul drove back to his house/office and he started googling her name, the area, and several different things after sending out an email to different friends to see if they had any information.

"Nothing." He sighed as his search came up empty again. He checked his emails and opened the only one he had.

"Paul,
Hey, I've looked through every file I had here. The only thing I could find that could even possibly related to this girl is there was a birth back in 1980 where the baby disappeared. It was a little girl, blond hair. But she was later found three years later. I'm sorry.

Kenny

Paul sighed and ran his hands through his hair. THere had to be something.

Nyla sat at her computer, typing away on her new story. Supposably she was to have it turned into her editor in two months. She realized that she wasn't even close to finishing it. Last night though she had gotten alot done.

The telephone sat by her, as it always did. It was in easy reach if it ever rang, which was rarely. On occasion a student would call her for help on their homework, but that was it.

Nyla stared at her computer screen, ran dry of ideas for tonight. Deciding to re-check what she had done she started from the beginning, editing anything that seemed untidy. Like she did with her life. Her past was jumbled, but that didn't mean her life had to be that way too.

Ring...Ring...

Nyla jumped in her seat and glared at the phone. Why did they have to make so much noice? She picked it up.

"Hello?" she asked tentavely.

"Hey, it's Paul Rose, I think I may have found something."

****It doesn't have to be scientific how he finds something, I am hoping that he finds out about faeries with Nyla. Maybe a website or something.****

***I think I have something. Also they could search 'Faerie Family' and of course it will come up with fairies.***

Paul looked at the article in his hand, it was really just a print out off the computer, but it might mean something. He quickly called Nyla wanted to fill her in on this and connect some dates.

"Hello?" she answered, her voice tentive.

"Hey, it's Paul Rose, I think I may have found something." He said over the phone. "It's just a newspaper article, but it might mean something to you. I'll bring it by later after I've explored it some more. But the jest of it is that the year you were dropped off, and on the same date, in the same place there was a newspaper article about a strange clan of gypsies going through the area. That's not the best part, one of the gypsie families has a little baby, the newspaper took a picture of the gypsies leaving and not a one of them is carrying a baby, and they don't have anywhere that the babe could be stowed either."

**Does that work?**

*** yes thats great****

Nyla shivered with excitement. She was closer than she had ever been to finding her past. So close.

"That's fantastic!" she said enthusiastically over the phone. "Do you know where that band of gypsies are now? I mean we could track them and eventually find out who my parents are and...and... everything. I can't ever thank you enough for this." Nyla's heart lept with joy.

"I thought about if we could figure out how to track them. So I did a little checking into the paper and everything. Normally gypsies are as easy to find as a needle in a hay stack. They don't give out information about each other. But back in the days when this image was taken they took down the names of the gypsies, at least the ones that the gypsies gave the reporter. I did some checking into the names and the band has 'settled' down, if you may, about an hour from here. They have split up, but there are two living not but thirty minutes from you. There are more that have either been born into the band or were brought in that live closer, but these two were in that picture." He smiled at her enthusiasm. "I plan on making a drive out there in the morning, would you like to come?" He asked turning the pictures around in his fingers.

Nyla nearly screamed with excitement.

"Yes, yes, I'd love to go what time should I be ready? How early do you plan on going? Paul Rose, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"I'll be there around seven, is that early enough?"

"I'll be ready then," Nyla said regaining her calm composure over the phone.

"See you then," Paul Rose said before the click that let her know he had hung up.

Nyla danced around the room, happier than she had ever been in her life.

Paul collected all the information he could together and set them by the door. He started searching more on the subject and didn't find anything else. He decided to turn in for the night. He laid down on his bed and looked up at the ceiling sighing. This case might not be as hard as he had thought. He closed his eyes and fell asleep. He might need as much sleep as he could get for tomorrow.

When Paul got up he quickly got dressed and ready and then headed out the door with everything he had. He drove up to her house and then walked to the front door knocking on the door.

Nyla woke at six that morning. She was waiting at the door anxiously when Paul knocked on the door. She jumped out of the chair and grabbed her bag, which contained her photo album.

She opened the door. Paul Rose stood outside waiting for her. "You ready to go?" he asked her, although he already knew the answer.

"Yes, lets go," Nyla replied with enthusiasm.

He opened the car door for her and she slid in. He jogged over to the drivers side and cranked the car. Before she could say good lorning they had pulled out of her small driveway and were on the way to the clues of her past.

Paul drove to the small town and to the address he had. "We're here." He smiled at her. He got out and quickly opened her door for her and then led her up to the door knocking on it. When the door opened an older man stood there. He took one look at Nyla and gasped.

"Ma, you better get over here." He called walking in the house.

"I'm guessing thats a good thing." He smiled down at her.

Nyla looked into Paul Rose's eyes. She felt that connection again. Since it appeared that she might be finding her past soon, it wouldn't hurt to take a little detour. Paul stared back at her and met her gaze.

Footsteps growing ever closer drew near. Nyla tore her gaze apart from Paul and focused on the door. The elderly man had left it slightly cracked but their house was well lit, she could see parts of the home through it.

The door swung open, revealing an older refined looking woman. She had no wrinkles and the only sign of her age was the grey, nearly white colored hair. Keen, green eyes similar to hers stared at her. They illuminated with surprise.

"Nyla, you have discovered us," she said warmly.

Nyla gasped with surprise. She knew, knew in her heart that this was her mother.

The woman looked at Paul with a strange, almost distrustful look on her face. It quickly melted into a hopeful look.

"Come on in Nyla Gweneviere Faerie and Paul Justin Rose. There is much I must tell you."

Paul looked at the woman shocked but followed Nyla as she went inside the door.

Paul was completely confused but followed. He looked around the room. It was well kept and it was really nice. He sat down when he was offered to.

"Not to be rude, but how do you know who I am?" He asked the couple. The lady smiled at him as the man sat down next to his wife.

"Would either of you like something to eat?" THe lady asked.

"No thanks," replied Paul and Nyla at the same time. Nyla turned to look at Paul, this had to be confusing for him too, he didn't know these people, but they seemed to know him.

"I insist," the woman said as she started for the kitchen. The man followed her, and Nyla and Paul were there alone again.

"Do you find this a bit weird?" Paul asked her.

"Yes, and you must find it even more so, I suppose," said Nyla.

They lgiggled not partly because the conversation was funny, but to find something to do with their nervousness. Nyla's hand sat beside Paul's. Boldly, she laid her hand on top of his. Paul turned to face her. He tighted his hold and Nyla let out a sigh of relief.

The couple returned and Nyla and Paul both turned to face them. They were carrying four cups of steaming apple cider. Nyla and Paul took the ones closer to them and drank deeply. She looked to her side to see Paul slumped on the soda. SHe went to shake him, when she passed out herself.

Paul gained consciousness and he he kicked himself for being so stupid that he had drank that cider. He sat up rubbing his sore head and looked around. Nyla was still laying next to him the two people arguing in soft voices.

"Can I have an explanation?" He asked grogerly rubbing his temples. Nyla slowly sat up next to him.

"We needed to do some research abotu you." The man said looking at him. "We weren't sure if we wanted you near Nyla."
