Kaleb:

The last few hours had been hard on Kaleb. To hear Syb's voice was amazing. He held her hand smiling. "They said they would bring her back in. They had to clean her off and everythign." He whispered kissing her forehead as a nurse walked in with their beautiful baby girl. "She's got your eyes. She's just beautiful, just like her momma."

Colt:

Colt watched the two from the corner of the room and his heart lurched, what he would do to have a love like theres.

I held the small girl in my arms and smiled, "hi Rosie, I'm your mommy." Kaleb leaned over to get a better look at her, "this is your daddy."

Nothing ever felt any more perfect than this.

(Yeah when Colt goes back to the Casino I'll be the cute waitress Annie)
I just lost the game.

***Alright***

Kaleb:

"You ready to go home, girls?" He smiled letting Rosie grab his pinky finger with her tiny little hand. They barely wrapped all the way around it. "I'm the luckiest guy ever."

"I agree." Colt laughed walking over. "I have to get back to work. You take care of my little neice." He smiled. He smiled at Syb. "You take care of yourself."

Colt:

When Colt got back to the casino he felt lonelier then ever. He had his adopted family, the three of them. But somethign was missing. He sighed as he started making his rounds. He needed a drink, but it wasn't allowed while he worked.

I looked at Colt, he looked lonely and he looked like he needed a drink.

Could this be my chance? I thought with hope. I edged my way over to him and handed him a bottle labled as coke.

"You look like you need a drink."

"I need a stiff drink."

I lowered my voice, "It's a rum and coke, probably not your taste, but it's stiff."

"Thank's Ann."

"You need to talk about it?"

He shook his head, "not right now."

I sighed inwardly maybe it wasn't my day. "Alright, but if you ever need to, you've got my number." I went to walk away but he grabbed my arm lightly, I turned around back to him.

"I don't have your number," he reminded me.

I chuckled nervously and pulled my pen out of behind my ear and wrote it on his hand. I gave him a generous smile and said, "now you do."

With a heart in termoil I went to finish my rounds.
I just lost the game.

Colt:

Colt watched Annie walk off. Now there was a girl any of the guys would want to claim. He didn't have to guts to ask her out though. He looked at her number sprawled out on his hand and smiled. Maybe this was his way of doing just that. No, he would ask her in person. He smiled, maybe he wouldn't be lonely for long, but only time would tell. His phone vibrated and he looked down at the number. It was the old casino.

"Hello." HE answered.

"Hey, there is someone here looking for Kaleb and Syb, he any good?"

"Nope."

"Alright. Take care."

"Thanks." He hung up the phone and frowned. The guy better not come here.

I knew that a lot of the people who came were willing to tip me probably a thousand dollars to get me to have a drink with them. Or at least I hoped one or two a year would. I wasn't all that interesting or pleasent to look at either.

I glanced back at Colt he was pacing angrily up and down the side of the room. I wanted to comfort him, but I didn't dare. I was sure he had a thousand other phone numbers that he could call when he needed to talk to somebody, why would he bother with me?

Sighing I cleared away one of the tables and took an order from one of the people sitting down taking a break. I was walking back when I tripped over my own stupid feet and tumbled to the ground, spilling the coctail all over the floor and my shirt. That wasn't quite as embarrasing as the fact that I had landed next to somebody who was standing up from their seat, their chair rammed into my side and they stepped on my hand.
I just lost the game.

Colt:

Colt watched Annie fall and ran over giving her a hand up. He glared at teh man that had stepped on her and helped her towards the dressing room. He knew her shift was about over anyways. He grabbed his jacket from his locker and handed it to her.

"Need a ride home?" He asked, she usually rode with one of the other waitresses.

Not soon enough was it that they brought my baby back to me. I fed her and sang her a small song as she fell back asleep. Kaleb was asleep in his chair not too far away from my bed. The nurse came in to take my baby away again and have a few more tests done on us both.

Ew needles, in me and then in my baby. I didn't like that thought.

"She'll be okay," Kaleb assured me grabbing and squeezing my hand tightly, "she'll put up with the needles and she's probably got an immunity to nearly everything from us."

I closed my eyes and nodded, "you're right, you'd better be."

Annie

My breath caught in my throat and panic washed over me. I could only barely manage a week nod. He looked at me with concern. "Are you okay?"

I took a deep breath through my nose, "I'm fine, thanks but no thanks I think I'm going to walk tonight." Probably a stupid move as a glance at the clock over his shoulder told me that it was two in the morning and I smelled like alchohol. But it was too late to take it back now, my stupid pride wouldn't let me.
I just lost the game.

Colt:

Colt laughed. "Walk, in this town after two?" He shook his head. "Now I couldnt' let you do that. You can at least let me walk with you. But I'm not about to let you walk these streets alone."

Kaleb:

"We'll get home soon, love, I promise." Kaleb smiled.

"I know," I sighed and leaned back in my bed. "I wish they would stop taking her away though!"

He chuckled, "they're making sure she's okay."

"According to you-aw nevermind." I sighed and closed my eyes, maybe a nap was in my near future.

Annie

"It won't be too much of a bother?" I asked tentitively.

"Not at all."

I smiled my half smile, "you're very chivalrious."

He smiled broadly in return, "you're very cute."

I bit my tongue to hold back the instant slur of denials that wanted to pour out of me. I wasn't cute, I wasn't anything resenbling cute. But he thought I was, I wasn't going to argue with that.
I just lost the game.

Colt:

She didn't believe him, he could tell the way her eyes flicked away when he said it. "Come on, let's go." He smiled. "But we're drivin."

"But..."

"No, buts Annie, no buts about it." He smiled and slipped his arm around her shoulders protectivly steering her through the crowd. He opened the door of his new viper for her and then went to the drivers side and started the engine. "YOu want something to eat?" He asked.

Kaleb:

"She's fine, love, she's perfectly fine." Kaleb smiled at her.

I sat in his passenger seat chewing on my lip and tongue trying not to act like an idiot which I knew was bound to happen. I wasn't a natural blonde for no reason. The silence hung in the air between us, I was desperate to shatter it.

"I like your car," I offered with a smile trying to break the tension as best I could.

"Thanks," he said giving me a smile.

"Why were you upset earlier?"

He shrugged, "just a tad off I guess."

"Oh." I bit my lip and blinked back the tears that threatened to take over my vision and moved my gaze to out the window. I didn't have a reason to want to cry! Stop it Annie, you're goimg to make a fool of yourself. But my scholding only made it worse, I was thankful for the darkness, he wouldn't see the tears.

"Are you okay Annie?"

Oh crap, could he see? "I'm fine," I croaked, I knew if he hadn't seen the tears my voice gave it away now.
I just lost the game.

Colt:

"Sure doesn't sound like it." Colt said pulling to a stop next to a chinese buffet. (I really want CHinese :D) "Please, tell me."

"It's nothing." She croaked.

"But your about to cry, Annie. Please, will you just talk to me." He said flipping the light on in the car so he could see her better.

I would have told him, if I knew myself. I never really knew why I was upset half the time anymore. The only thing that I could think to do was to roll my sleeves up and my stockings down and show him the results of my self mudilation.

He looked at them quizzically. "How did these happen?"

"I...I did it to myself," I muttered resting my forehead on my knees hiding my face.

His hand cupped my cheek and forced me too look at him. "Ann-"

I couldn't take it, I opened the car door and climbed out practically running across the parking lot to the nearest available cab. I went home.

Sybyla

"I hope so," I said, "I don't like this bed." I shifted slightly.

Kaleb chuckled, "I don't like the chair."

"You could go home."

"And leave you and Rosie here alone? Not a chance love. I'm here so long as you are."
I just lost the game.

Kaleb:

The doctor walked in and looked at them. "There isn't anything wrong wtih the tike, y'all can take her home after we finish a few more tests on Sybyla."

"Why all the tests?" Kaleb demanded.

"Precaution." The doctor replied leaving. A nurse brought Rosie back and Kaleb cradled her first.

Colt:

Colt ran a hand through his hair as he watched her leave. He had jumped out of the car to follow, but decided it might not be best. Why would she do that to herself? Why would she hurt herself like that. He took a deep breath and climbed back in his car. Why could he not stop thinking about her? It was then he decided he was going to her apartment or house and talking to her. He knew where it was by talking to the owner when he had gotten drunk. He had reveiled so much about several of his employies that it angered Colt that he would get so drunk. He started the engine and tore off towards her place.
