Teenagers

Kaleb:

"Why not, then we have a longer chance to be away from your dad and my family. We have a better headstart."

"Because, tehy wont' believe it."

"Oh, they are deffinatly going to believe us coming in and tellin them we are transfering. We have no proff, no signed paper. They would believe a parent, but not a teenager." He replied.

Sybyla

I cringed, I didn't have any plans for college anyways, a GED was all I needed really...

"I could live with my GED, I could still get into Harvard if I ever decided I needed a professional degree."

Kaleb:

Kaleb nodded. "So we'll skip going to the school." He smiled hoping she would drop it at that. I'm sure we can find somewhere so you can get your GED. Let's just get out of this hell hole of a town."


*Tears*

Sybyla

I turned the key for him, "I'm ready."

He grinned at me and started driving.

"So where we goin?" I asked after a mile or two of silence between the two of us, not akward or an intended silence, we were listening to music.

"I don't know...somewhere...fun?"

"Like Flordia?"

Kaleb:

"Flordia is all basically below sea level, that can't be fun. Give me another state." She sat thinking for a second.

"Why not flordia?"

"I told you, I don't like Flordia anyways."

"Just because it's below sea level?"

"No, cause I have family down there. Give me another state."

Sybyla

I had an idea, "how about Mexio?"

"Mexico?"

"Yeah, our money's worth more down there, and we're Americans, something about that sounds fun."

"But Mexico? Too hot."

"New York?"

"I'll go with that one."

Kaleb:

"So north it is." He smiled. "YOu know, we do have the trailer though."

"Oh ya." She laughed. "We coudl camp at different places, right?"

"Yup, never have to settle down in one place." He grinned. "It's cheaper too."

Sybyla

I thought about that for a minute, home was a trailer, and the trailer was anywhere they wanted it to be.

It sounded both uncomfortable and good.

She listened to the good, it was just a new concept for her. She'd lived in that house with an abusive father for all her life.

"We could go find my mom," I suggested. "She lives somewhere in Massachussets!"

Kaleb:

"Alright, then lets get going."

We sat in silence. This was a turning point. I wasn't sure if it was a good one even. My head swam with questions.

Something felt different with them now.

Kaleb:

Kaleb looked over at Syb, "You ok, you look a little, out of it."

"Ya."

"You sure, I mean you just look a lil worried. "

Sybyla

I couldn't say it, thinking of the words sounded weird and akward. So I just went along with the "Everything's okay" method.

"I'm sure," I insisted. "I'm just a little sad about changing from the norm."

He kissed my knuckles, "the norm sucked didn't it?"

"Until I met you..."

"Then the new will be even better."

Kaleb:

They drove for a few hours until it started to get dark, then he found a camping site, paid a small fee for the parking and set up the trailer. He tossed his bag in one of the cabnits then pulled out the sandwhiches they had gotten from Wendys. He ploopped down and quickly ate his.

"We should get fire wood and start cooking food outside, but there is also a stove in here." He smiled. "If we need anything, just write it on a list and we will get it soon enough."

I smiled, I already felt comfortable doing this.

"I think we should hold off on the firewood as long as we can," I commented, "I'll test the stove out tomorrow and see what the status is on that." I looked over at him seeing if I was assuming too much.

"Good idea."

Kaleb:

When they finished eating Kaleb pulled Syb outside and sat on the hood of his truck pulling her close to him and looking up at the stars. "You know, I don't htink this is such a bad idea. We can just relax, and live life." He smiled kissing hte top of her head. "The stars almost outshine you."
