Hey, you guys finished yet? I think he did a good job on Eragon at least.

Haha!

How did I miss this?

You know, before I knew anything about writing, I would read it aloud and use some pathetic voice to make it sound good. I'm sorry, but the words should do the voice.

Did you pay attention to the Star Wars discussion at all?

Oh I haven't read it yet, I liked the book loads more than the movie. I have only read the first two. He talks to a God?

I think when they say that Eragon meets a god is because Galbatorix has become so powerful he is like a god. I am currently reading Brisingr and I find it intresting and in now way like Tolkein or Lucas. The book is a bit slow moving in the first two chapters but then it picks up in the third chapter when . . .
Eragon, Roran, and Saphira attack the Ra'zac in Helgrind to save Katrina.
I would say more about the book in general but that would give it away.
Fly, Fight, Win . . . in Air, Space, and Cyberspace.

I plead the law of Too Long, Didn't Read.

I just Wiki'd the synopsis so I can know what happened without paying Paolini a dime.

Hmm yes i read that plot summary too. And the problem is it didn't say anything of Eragon meeting a god did it??
But anyway i liked the first book at first but i found out after reading LOTR and start wars discussions that the book series was partially fake. but still he did a pretty good job in making his book famous didn't he??

Marketing, that seems to be it. If the entire world knows about it then I'm sure he will find a few fans somewhere.

Eragon, Roran, and Saphira attack the Ra'zac in Helgrind to save Katrina.

**cough** Luke, Obi-Wan, C3PO & R2-D2 attacking stormtroopers to save Leja **cough**

Well, I read Eragon. It was good, but then I tried to read the second one (forget what it's called) and it was really annoying, so I stopped. And I have heard that they are almost identical to star wars. lol, oh paolini.

It is. They both go like this:

Young farm boy(Luke/Eragon) lives with his uncle and doesn't know much about his parents. One day, while talking to an old man from the villiage(Brom/Obi Wan), the farm is destroyed by a traitor empire and his uncle killed. Old man and farm boy set out to join rebel group. On the way, they recieve a message to rescue a princess(Via dream/hologram). They successfully rescue her, but old man dies. Princess and farm boy go to rebel group base and mistakenly lead empire there, resulting in a battle that is won by the rebels as farm boy flies a dragon/ship.

Christopher Paolini should become a marketer. He's much better at that than "writing" a "book".

If I recall correctly... I have read many books that actually have this same setting or something similar.

Young man/woman, is taken away from home, some friend dies, they save someone etc...

Let's see isn't one of these INKHEART...LOTRI...STARWARS....ODYSEUS...MANY OTHER FANTASY/SCIFI STORIES.

Your speaking as if Paolini was the only one that has done this. He isn't.. He is the most famous of the resent. I think some people (even on this site) write something similar.

That is one of the basic fantasy story lines... It isn't the acctual basic story line that take in those many readers.. It is the story that is inbetween the lines that come after the basic story line...

Yeah I know Brom dies, but Brom and Obi-wan were not that similar, Eragon is NOTHING LIKE LUKE (my personal oppinion)

I know that the father of Eragon was evil, but he IS dead, He stayed evil till the end and it was Brom not Eragon who killed him, plus Eragon has a brother, and I can't acctually find anyway to match Eragons brother to han-solo or Eragons cousin. Neither can I really connect Eragons girlfriend to Leia.

They are similar in some ways but they are just too different at the same time.

And don't you people have anything better to do than to mock a person's work from the past 5 years????

Give him some slak, people he wrote a best-seller at the age of 15, how may of you have donne that?
