Reed-
As I flew toward the closest city I knew of, I thought sarcastically, Gosh, I had to take the blame didn't I. But somewhere in my heart I knew I was the one who had to go get the vitamin K. Everyone else was wounded or needed to stay.
The lights ahead told me that I was nearing the city. Now if I could find a pharmacy store. Looking at all the lights was daunting. How would I find a single store among so many. But I had to try.
I landed in an alley behind a laundry-mat where no one would see me. Then I looked for the alarm system in the laundry-mat. Good, I thought, only bars across the windows and a heavy bolt door. I looked alone the alley street for something useful. Then I spotted a paperclip, not the best pick key in the world, but it would have to do. I inserted the paperclip into the lock and twisted it, until I heard the satisfying sound of a slight pop. I opened the door and looked for a jacket. My eye's fell on a leather one which would be perfect.
Fifteen minutes later I was at the counter of Bob's Pharmacy waiting for the Vitamin K. The whole operation was going smoothly so far. I had stolen 20 dollars from a gangster that had probably stolen the money from someone else anyway. Then the pharmacist came back and handed me the bottle.
"Will that be all sir?" he asked.
"Well if you have any pain reliever that would be great."
"Yes sir, in fact we've just imported Advil's new "All in One" pain reliever. The pain reliever also contains six extra vitamins. Would you like a bottle of that sir?" he asked.
"Yes please." I said calmly.
"That will be $9.46."
I quickly paid him the money and walked out of the store. It felt good to be outside again. I walked back to the alley where I had arrived and dropped off the jacket. Then stretching my wings to their full length I took off.
