We walked toward the wood, not saying much of anything. We were spread out in a way, walking by themselves, or in groups of two or three. I brought up the rear, not speaking.
Actually, I wasn't even breathing. The others were beat up pretty badly, and I couldn't risk taking a breath. If I inhaled and caught a good scent of blood, there was a chance of someone dying. I would not let that happen.
"We're got to get them out of the town!" I called.
But before anybody could answer, one of them was nearly on top of me. I crouched and he fell over my back. I grabbed the dagger from my boot, shut my eyes, and stabbed hard.
"Sorry," I whispered. "But you destroyed everything dear to me. I have to do this."
I looked at the dead creature again. "Sorry," I said, before spinning round and notching another arrow in my bow...

The sound of thier running footsteps where heard behind them. Coming close for the kill. Thorn, unfortunatly was injured and unable to ran fast enough. Soon the beast were upon her. Wanting her flesh for food, and her blood for drink.
The beasts began to claw and bite at her flesh. Thorn could smell her own blood.( Who has Thorn's guardian stone?) Thorn's guardian stone began to glow red again.
A Draconian chewed Thorn's arm. The only way she knew she was stil alive was from her screams of pain.
"Am I going to die?" Thorn wondered.
Another Draconian clawed at her skull- trying to open it and eat her insides. She felt trapped, and unable to escape. The Seer, hazel and Melidoul were still running. Unaware of her pain.
*I have no idea where my characters are at the moment....so I'll bring them in now. And I don't think either of my characters have the guardian stone...*
Nathan-
I stabbed a draconian through the heart with my dagger, watching in satisfaction as it sank to the ground, dead. I pulled my dagger from its body quickly and turned. Pain shot through my side, red blood blossoming on my clothes. My right arm hung useless at my side. I held my dagger in my left hand, out at the ready for another attack.
There was none. It seemed that the rest of the draconians had busied themselves with the rest of my companions. Zip was fighting off two at once, as were most of the others.
I turned again at the sound of an agonized scream and saw at least four of the monsters surrounding a figure huddled on the ground. Through the blood that covered her face, i recognized her to be the girl they called Thorn.
And the draconians were killing her.
Thinking nothing of my side and arm, i rushed forward, calling to mind a spell. I murmured the words, pointing my thumb and last finger of my left hand at the nearest of the creatures, i finished the words to the spell and let a streak of lightning arch through the air and strike the monster through the chest. It toppled over sideways.
One of the other draconians turned to me, snarling in fury. It was met with a weak fireball and a cut in the ribs. My strength was failing. My side was burning and my arm numb. My dagger glanced off its armor, only cutting in slightly. It grinned a very reptilian grin and spun, knocking my feet from under me with its tail and drawing a sword, intending to finish me off.
Steel flashed in the light. I raised my good arm and closed my eyes.
The blow never came. Instead, the clash of metal sounded above my head. I looked up to see Zip fighting the draconian with her own short sword, wielding a dagger in her other hand. I breathed a sigh of relief and stood again, looking to the two remaining draconians who were still intent on Thorn. Something had to be done soon or she would be killed.
Summoning my remaining strength, pushing the pain from my injuries aside, i closed my eyes and recited the words to a spell. I raised my good arm, pointing at the two remaining draconians in turn. Then, i let the magic flow from my fingers, piercing the two monsters with a stream of bright light. They shrieked and fell to the ground writhing in pain.
With my last reserve of strength i never knew i had, i managed to crawl over to the bloodied girl on the ground, I reached for her neck, feeling for a heartbeat. It was weak and irregular, but she was alive, thankfully.

She was bleeding to death. With her stomach, chest, and skull wide open. There was very little chance she could survive. Even with the most skilled healer. Nathan and Zip picked her up and ran towards the woods.
One of the creatures was coming at me and I didn't have time to notch another arrow. I gripped my dagger again and stabbed it hard into the thing, ripping its scales.
Near me I could see Zip fighting and her brother saving Thorn. What was that girl doing outside?
Just then, I twirled. Another Draconian was behind me and my dagger was still embedded in its comrade.
I stood there, petrified. I could use the fire, but I had always promised not to kill with it.
I looked around, begging for help.

It wasn't looking good. Everyone was getting hurt, and the monsters were still coming in large numbers. The city was doomed. Zip and Nathan placed Thorn down. They were tires and wounded as well. Thorn coughed up some blood. A mircle was the only way anyone would survive.
I looked Nathan and Thorn over, wincing as I saw their wounds. But Nathan was nowhere near as bad as Thorn. Nothing short of a miracle would save the girl now.
"Stay here, I need to go help the others." I said to Nathan. He nodded wearily, probably not even fully aware of my presence. Blood trickled from a gash on his side, staining his clothes a dark red.
I hesitated a moment before standing and running from the woods where i had left both of them, hoping they would not be found. I saw Tysa fighting a draconian, another creeping up from behind. She stabbed the first and turned. Her eyes grew wide.
I ran forward, drawing two daggers from their holders on my belt I handed one to her and started attacking the draconian with the other.

"Thanks for that," I gasped to Zip, taking the moment to yank my dagger out of the other draconians scales. I handed hers back to her.
"Anytime," she said, also out of breath.
"What now?" I asked looking around, where yet more draconians were coming over the hill. I took aim with my bow and set a blazing arrow into it. "There's too many of them."
"We need help." Zip said. "Nathan's hurt, Thorn's dying, and I don't see anything short of a miracle that's going to get us out of here."
I bit my lip as I collected two of my arrows and shot again.
"But where are we going to get help from?" I asked.
That was the question.
"Stella. You were in my dream the other night. And everyone called you Princess." -Lauren2010
**Um...I'm just going to bring in the help...kay?**
Ninette~
Ninette let one of her arrows fly, ricocheting off a tree and hitting two draconians in the chest and sticking them to another tree. A bead of sweat formed on Ninette's brow just as Blind Seer trotted up to her, a small cut on his hind leg.
"You okay?" Ninette asked him in wolf speak.
"Fine. But, the others are injured. Thorn is dying, and all of them are getting tired quickly." He growled in response.
"Let the pack know. Call for help." Ninette commanded. Blind Seer nodded his big gray head and turned his gaze to the sky. He closed his eyes and let out a long and loud howl.
Ninette smiled as huge wolves poured from the forest, coming to their aide. Hopefully the others would hear the wolves fighting and know they had a few minutes to regain their strength. Ninette watched as the wolves attacked the draconians, four wolves on each draconian tearing at them. She grabbed her bow and began shooting at the draconians with magic arrows, breathing hard.
I looked up at the sound of snarling and tearing. Wolves came pouring from the woods, attacking the draconians. I looked over at Tysa.
"Am i seeing things?"
"If you are, I think I'm seeing the same thing."
We stared at the wolves for a moment longer in astonishment. Well, here was one of the miracles we had asked for.
But what about Thorn?
Remembering the dying girl and my brother, I ran back into the woods, dodging around the last of the wolves that came running towards me. I finally reached them and knelt down, Tysa following close behind.
Natan had lapsed into unconsciousness and I couldn't tell if Thorn was awake or not. I felt for a heartbeat in her neck, praying that the girl was unconscious. If she wasn't, i couldn't imagine the pain.
