Hey, aedomir, who is going to be the new leader for the baddies now that the old leader is dead...?
Thyme
I sneered, turning away from Orain. "Maybe I was, but why concern yourself with me? Don't you have other individuals to torture and harass today?"
I stalked away before he could answer, heading for my tent, intending to study my spells before the light vanished. As it was, the sun was only barely hanging over the horizon.
I fled inside the warm shelter, flicking my hand in the direction of the small fire pit. A blazing flame lept up before dying back slightly to a more comfortable size. I walked over to the small, crude desk and selected a book with dark blue binding. Flipping it open to the correct page, i began to read.
So engrossed was i in my work that i didn't hear the voice of a goblin outside my tent the first few times. Only when a hulking figure entered, standing respectfully at the front flap, did i glance up.
"What?" i asked gruffly, standing and walking over, fists clenched at my side.
"I...er...brought the prisoner." the goblin said, drawing Bella into the tent after him. She was still bound and looked exhausted.
I eyed the girl for a moment. "Whose orders are you following?" i asked the goblin.
"Uh...your's, sir."
I snorted. "I ordered no one here. But, now that she's here, i do have a few questions. Leave us." i commanded. The goblin obediently left, closing the flap.
I turned away from Bella, gesturing to the crude wooden chair sitting near the center of the room. "Have a seat."

Nervously, I moved to the chair Thyme had gestured to. This was different then before, where I had just as much control as he did -- and a weapon. Now, he was in charge. I could be dead in seconds, all the had to do was decide it.
"What do you want with me?" I asked, trying to maintain my fierceness that I had used before. Sadly, part of me was distracted by Thyme's dark grey eyes....dammit.
"If you want information, you'll want information about our troops. My troops are my friends, why would I want to betray them to you?" I snapped back, donig my best to look furious with him.
"You said I wanted to know about you troops?" he asked, meeting my fierce gaze with his own calm one. He was leaning toward me, to the point that I could feel his breath on my face.
"What more is there to know?" I kept my voice steady, despite the shaking in my body.
"Tell me about your past," he suggested.
"There's nothing to tell."
"There's always something to tell."
"Really, then tell me about yours," I shot back, grinning at him.
"Tsk tsk, I asked first," he replied, his face moving even closer to mine (although I don't think he noticed this.
"I was born. I never got along with anyone. I joined the force. Here I am," I gestured around me. "Now you." he cocked his head to the side, the suddenly moved closer to me.
His lips pressed against mine, kissing me with a firm gentlness. AFter a moment he moved back slightly, and I gasped.
I drew back slightly, smiling. My head whipped around and i went to the front flap of the tent, peeking outside cautiously. No one. Perfect.
I went back over to Bella who was regarding me in suspicion, curiosity, and amazement. I grabbed her arm, drew a dagger, and cut her bonds.
"What are you doing?" she asked, struggling in my grasp. I eyed her calmly.
"Saving your life. Unlike me, there are plenty who want to know everything about your 'friends' and would hurt you, horribly, to get that information."
Her expression turned suspicious. She pulled her arm out of my grasp. "Why are you doing this?"
I shrugged. "Instinct, maybe? Who knows?"
I grabber her arm again, slipped out of the tent, and into through the camp. Finally, we hit the edge of the woods.
"Won't you get in trouble? This is treason. You could die."
I shrugged again. "I've a plan for that. Don't worry, i'm not doing this blindly."
"And how will i get back to my troops? They're probably many miles away. I could never catch up."
"There are two waiting for you deeper in. I'll take you to them. There are guards stationed out here, so it will seem less suspicious and less likely for you to get captured again." i said calmly, flitting from shadow to shadow, dragging Bella behind me.
"How do you know there are two others out here?"
"Must i explain everything?" i asked, heaving an exasperated sigh.

I followed Thyme closely, trying to fit everything together in my mind.
He had kissed me, and was setting me free...but he was the enemy? Something hardly seemed right with that...
"Bella!" Aedomir was with Lu, deeper into the woods than I had realized. He was obviously relieved to see me, until he realized who was with me. He had his weapon out in a series of seconds, and was about to attack Thyme.
"No!" I ordered, stepping between the two. Thyme's hand was on my back, urging me to step aside. I did not move. "Thyme helped me escape, you can't just attack him!"
"He is the enemy!"
"I don't care! He will not be injured!" My words were sharp and stern. Aedomir nodded his consent.
"On one condition," he said, pulling out a length of rope and nodding toward Thyme.
The four of them hurried back along Aedomir's path, Thyme in the middle, guarded by Bella and Lu. Soon, they reached the clearing, where the battle had claimed so many lives.
Aedomir looked back at his weary followers. "We can't carry on for long... and Orchis is 2 leagues away."
Lu looked up at Aedomir. "And the dark is going to throw a lot of undesirable creatures at us."
"Let's set up camp, just till dawn. I can't walk for much longer," Bella groaned.
Aedomir walked over to the extinguished bonfire. "I'll light the camp, and keep guard. I'm fine."
I regarded them all silently. "I'll not go. I returned Bella, not let me return."
"Who's to know you won't go back to get a group of goblins and trap us?" the man said.
"Why wouldn't i just have brought them with me instead of Bella and just be done with it, since i knew you were out here?" i replied calmly. "Now let me return to my camp and i assure you no more harm will come to you this night."
"I can't let you do that. You're still the enemy, even if you did return Bella, and so thus you cannot be trusted. I'm sorry." he said, stepping forward. Before i could react, he rammed the hilt of this sword into my head. I felt myself crumple to the ground before the world went black.

After a while of us dragging Thyme, I began to carry him with magyk, so that he wouldn't be hurt. He woke up not long after we had knocked him out, (magic creatures always did have better healing systems and such). Once he came to, he had no choice but to stay with us. Lu and I walked on either side of him, keeping him from escaping. Lu held the rope that bound his arms, while I had linked my arm with his own.
When we came to a spot and decided to make camp, I led him to a tree, where he sat down angrily.
"Are you all right?" I asked, worriedly examining the small mark on his head.
I sneered at her, my eyes blazing. Turning, i shoved her roughly away and faced the dark forest. I lifted my face towards the heavens, cursing any being that might be there, watching. It seemed i could almost feel their mocking laughter bubbling through my body.
Orain's words suddenly came back to me, taunting me. "'You were always weak like that, Thyme.'"
I grit my teeth together, thrusting the thought from my mind. I wondered what fate had in store for me now. What destiny had planned for my future.
Ha, as if i believed in such things.
