(This post happens about three seconds after lunch finishes.)

The bell for lunch rang and people began filing out of the cafeteria. Kai chuckled softly and said, "Sorry, guess it's gonna have to wait."

"Oh, alright. I guess I'll see you later," Audra said as she grabbed her stuff and began to walk away.

"How does tomorrow at lunch sound?"

Audra stopped and looked at him. It took her a moment to realize what he meant. "Uhh... sure, sounds great!"

Kai smiled. "Maybe then you can tell me a little about yourself."

Audra

I smiled. "Sure, sounds great. Myabe I can hear a little about you, too?" I waved as I loped down the hall, back to the art room.

I was trembling. Why? It wasn't like he had asked me on a date...or was it? Oh, I didn't know! I was just excited!

So excited, I might just be stuck finishing my portrait of Ayumi Gosu, my anime character...

Oh, well. At least it wasn't boring still life!

**Ok, so I have missed a ton, can someone bring me in, possibly.**

Alice (next day)

I had searched for a while, using my free peroid before lunch to get rid of all my extra crap and prepare myself for what I was going to tell Billy. He was going to meet me at the lunch line for lunch.

I banged my head into the nearest locker, why was I doing this?

Oh yeah, I was a masterpeice of self destruction.

Bella~

The boy moved out of my seat grudgingly, leaving me feeling somewhat jerk-ish.

Guys always did that to me. Twisted around things that I considered to be cute or adorable, until they seemed horrible and somewhat biznitchy.

<Billy>

I looked around the lunchroom, trying my best not to look worried. Just because she isn't here yet doesn't mean she's not gonna show. As if she wouldn't show up to lunch, idiot.

I looked around the lunchroom again, probably a little too casually, and sighed. What have you gotten yourself into this time?

Alice

My head was still throbbing when I entered the lunch room. That's what you get I told myself.

I scanned the room for him, my courage failing me. Did he really have to know? Not really. He just needed to know that it wasn't healthy to be my friend.

I saw him and rushed over.

<Billy>

I turned around again, about to give the lunchroom another look over, when suddenly Alice was right behind me.

I smiled, genuinely happy to see her. Just because she's willing to have lunch with the new kid doesn't mean she likes you as anything more than a friend. Please don't screw this one up, Bill

"Hey"

Audra

Another morning had passed. Wonderful. It was lunch again.

I entered the cafeteria, again, and found Kai in the same seat as before, waiting for me. How nice.

I made my way over there, art portfolio in hand.

"What's up?" I asked cheerfully, sitting down.

Alice

My heart studdered, why did I always do this to myself?

Oh yeah, I was a masterpeice of self-destruction.

"Hey," I studdered back feeling open and exposed and embarresed.

Kai gave her a smile that could melt ice. "Hey."

Audra had to swallow before she could speak. "Sitting here alone again, huh?"

Kai nodded. His gaze shifted to the portfolio in her hands. "Are those your artworks?" he asked.

"Yeah. You said you'd like to see some of my work so I brought some to show you," she told him.

"All I brought was my sketchbook," Kai said as he pulled out a black sketchbook. "I keep all my good stuff in my room."

"Can I see yours first?" Audra asked.

Kai handed her the book. "Sure."

The first thing she saw in the sketchbook was an amazing picture of a red dragon in a sea of flames. "Wow, this is... good!"

Kai smiled. "I'm glad you like it. May I see some of yours?"

Billy

My grin widened a fraction as she stuttered. See, I told you she liked me.

I got my lunch and turned to her again.

"Want me to grab a table, or is there somewhere you normally sit?"

Alice

"I normally sit with my friend Bella, but she's hiding out in our room with some food her mom sent her."

"Hording all the normal food is she?"

I grimanced, "yes, but when I get my hot plate and make fudge she won't get any."

"You make fudge? What kind?"

"Penut Butter fudge."

Audra

Why was I doing this? I never did this with anyone else, so why was I being so open with him? Maybe it was his way with things, the way he melted my heart, his patience and peacefulness...

"Sure."

I set the portfolio in front of him. I couldn't help but smile at the custom job I'd done on it. Dragonscript decorated every edge on the front.

I held my breath as Kai took out the few sheets I had inside. There was a palomino pinto unicorn in a forest, a blue dragon's head, and my black and white still-life of acrylic paint. Not much, but it was all I had with me at school...everything else was in my room, just like him. How ironic.

"This isn't all of it. Same as you; the rest is in my room," I offered, shrugging.

"These are good. How long does it take you to do these?"

"About two hours a piece."

He whistled. I just smirked.

This was just starting off too good!

Billy

I raised my eyebrows a little, grinning.

"Peanut butter fudge, eh? She'll be sorry she didn't share."

"Uh-huh."

"I'll go get a table then, which one's yours?"

She pointed over at one, and I began walking over that way.
