Fadalia

"Come, Lanis, tell me what you saw" She whispered, welcoming Lanis to sit next to her.

Lanis

"Death. Wolves were dying, lightning was close, large teeth....sharp claws...There were cries for help, loud fighting noises, a loud growl that rose over them...then a giant bolt of something hit all the wolves. Thats when I woke. I howled for our ancestors and they gave me a small bit of the pain, it felt like lightning through my whole body, and felt like bites and scratches. When I ran into the woods, I went to the creek and saw one of our ancestors, she shared visions with me, of land, leaf bare, sick wolves. She told me to beware battles, sick wolves, and lightning." He said. Lanis tried to think about if there was anything else, but couldn't find anything.

Fadalia

Fadalia took this all in, her eyes fixed on Lanis's, "I see... I will go and speak to the wolf ancestores tomorrow and midnight." She smiled and licked Lanis's nose, "Don't worry darling" then she curled up and fell asleep.

Lanis

He returned to his den and slept the rest of the night through. The next morning, he took a hunting patrol out. They brought back two rabbits, a bird, four water voles, and two fish. They dropped them all the in fresh kill pile before returning to pack duties. Lanis decided to bring a fish to Fadalia, and he wanted the other one, but he changed his mind and thought it would be best for Luin's health if he got the fish. He left a fish next to the sleeping Luin and went to Fadalia's den. She wasn't there, probably out patrolling. He left her fish next to her moss bed and went back to the clearing and started eating one of the rabbits. Fadalia returned, along with a few other wolves. They all split up, Fadalia going to her den, and the others getting fresh kill to eat.

Tallulah


The gathering had not gone well. Tallulah shook out her coat and padded over to the fresh-kill pile. It was empty. Sitting in a shallow depression was a maggoty squirrel, barely a mouthful and obviously rotten. Tallulah picked it up in her jaws and trottet out of camp to bury it, wincing at the horrible taste. It had been almost a week since they had gone out on a big hunt, and the pack had been surviving on the small animals brought in by the border patrols. Tallulah felt her stomach rumble with hunger, but she supressed it. The hunting patrol would be back soon, hopefully with enough food for all of them.

Padding back to the center of the camp, Tallulah lay down on a warm rock, letting her body absorb the warmpth of the sun.

A few minutes later the sound of the patrol crashing through the fallen leaves alerted her. The rest of the pack was lounging around her, trying to get as much of the sunshine as possible. A chill breeze ruffled Tallulah's fur as she waited for the patrol to deposit their kills and report to her.

The beta dropped a skinny vole, and Tobi a small thrush. Tallulah waited for the other wolves to drop their kills, but the padded past the pile, empty-jawed.

"Is that all?" The worry showed through in her voice.

"We hunted all through the lower valley! There is nothing there."

The pack around her gasped.

"Nothing? Are you sure? Prey is always harder to find in leaf-fall."

The beta nodded.

Tallulah turned back into her den, thinking hard.

Fadalia

The bright morning sun glared at her through the entrance of her stone den, it looked as if it was almost mid day. Fadalia leaped to her paws and shook the moss from her ratty black fur, she had been stressing to hard to even think about grooming her fur, or going for a swim. She padded sleepily out of her den and arched her back in a great stretch that urged her to widen her jaws in a yawn.
She trotted down to the main camp and greeted her pack with warm yips and snorts. Most of the pack where lounging in the sun, while the pups wrestled with each other. Grace was keeping Luin company and Lanis was busy munching on a skimpy looking rabbit contentedly.
A rush of joy swept through Fadalia as she took in Lanis's sweet scent, she trotted happily over to him, her tail wagging vigourously, "Lanis, darling how are you today?" She licked his forehead and nuzzled up next to him, "How was the hunt?" she questioned, worry filling her eyes.

Lanis

He looked into Fadalia's eyes.

"We caught plenty...but the only things that were not starving are the fish...You have one waiting in your den, I put the other one next to Luin. Most of the animals are thin, hardly have any meat to them" He said as he bit into his rabbit.

<Sure thing! Somebody want to be the beta? he's one of the main charrys that hasn't been claimed yet. (he might one day become the alpha) I'll try to incorporate Yea. >
<oh, and will other animals get sick? I thought maybe the prey could bring the sickness from one pack to the other. it would spread faster that way.>


Tallulah
Blood Mountain


Tallulah sniffed the tiny fresh-kill pile, shaking her head in fear. Yea had brought in another squirrel, but and a pair of yearlings were working their way through it hungrily. Tallulah's mouth watered, but then she saw Destiny waiting, also with hunger in her eyes. There was no option but to take the pack on a hunt.

Howling, Tallulah called the rest of the pack to her. She was appaled by the way her legs shook as she jumped onto the ledge. She wouldn't be able to protect her pack much longer if she continued to starve herself.

"Yea, Tobi, Serra!"
She called, gesturing towards them. They appeared to be the healthiest of the wolves, and their ribs were showing the least. But this group wouldn't be enough to take down an elk. She called to the beta, and hesitating, also to Destiny. Her shoulder had healed somewhat, but Tallulah was reluctant to put her niece in danger.

The other wolves that she hadn't called lay bacl down, their scrawny sides heaving. Tallulah yipped at the hunting party to follow her, and the desperate wolves left the camp.

Yea

She followed the others in the hunting patrol. She stopped when she smelled Rabbit, and saw the tip of it's ear sticking out of a nearby bush. She got a few feet closer before running into the bushes. She sunk her teeth in it's neck before carrying it out of the bushes and dropping it in front of her leader. This rabbit, had a good amount of meat on it, unlike most of the others.

"You need to eat." She said to Tallulah.

<<Yeah, I guess it is. I was just thinking that since Canis is really the only one on blood mountain side, except me now, she might want to keep her not controlled, but I'm not sure. Whatever >>

Fadalia

Fadalia prepared herself to leave camp.

Lanis

He walked over to Fadalia after eating the last few scraps of the rabbit.

"If your going out to see what our prey looks like, I'll come." He offered. Fadalia was about to answer, but Luin's yowl interrupted them. The apprentice that was watching him came dashing out of the den and to Fadalia and Lanis.

"Luin just batted at a little mouse before yowling in pain! I don't know what is wrong with him." The young wolf shouted. Lanis and Fadalia hurried to the den. A mouse next to Luin ran out of the den and into the forest when Lanis ran up to Luin. Luin barked in pain, he was dying.

Grace~

Grace trotted into the camp, a thin rabbit dangling from her jaws. A group gathered around Luin's den and Fadalia was yelling for the to back away. Grace dropped the rabbit and dashed towards Luin's den, pushing her way through. "Oh my! What happened to him?!" Grace asked, distress filling her voice.
