Lanis

Several wolves growled at him and circled him. Lanis yowled, wanted them to go away. But the circle kept getting smaller, as if they were going to attack. Then Fadalia, Grace, and berry showed up.

Fadalia

Fadalia trotted into the clearing, Lanis was surrounded by a bunch of wolves and they where closing in. She snorted and called the wolves off, "Let him be" she snarled herding them away without taking a single glance at Lanis.

Lanis

The sun fell and the moon rose. Lanis slept outside, instead of in the den. Soon, leaf-bare would come, the first signs were showing. When he woke, it was dawn. The wolves were all up already. Lanis grabbed a bird and took it to Fadalia's den. She was still asleep. He woke her and dropped the bird.

"I'm sorry. Please understand..." He trailed off.

Fadalia

"What is there to understand" she snorted, "Do you have some reason to explain?" She looked away, "I am not very happy with you, Berry is wounded and you where very rude to that apprentice the other day. Now the entire pack wants your head to chew on" She got up, "What is there to understand?" she glared at him.

Grace~

The second Grace awoke she took off into the forest, searching for the same herb she had been earlier. Finally, she'd found it under a rock. She ripped it out of the ground and ran back to Luin's den. Handing him the herb, she traded 'shifts' with the other young wolf that was there keeping Luin warm.

Lanis


"My parents were red oak, on my mother's side, her father was blood mountain. I have more than one reason for leaving. I wouldn't have been gone long!" He growled at Fadalia before he ran out of her den and back to his own.

Fadalia

Fadalia snorted and dug into her meal, "Baby" she muttered before tearing open the squirrels belly and feasting.

Lanis

He left his den and walked into the woods. he stood on a boulder in the forest and began howling to his wolf ancestors.

"OOOOOWWWWWWWW! OOOOOWW!" He prayed for their guidance and help. He heard some rustling in the bushes and stopped howling. He flattened to the ground, waiting for it to come out.

Grace~

Grace walked out of Luin's den, another young wolf taking her place. She walked back into the forest, talking mostly to herself. "Wrong herb my tail!" She hissed as she came upon the same boulder she had earlier.

"Lanis?" She asked, noticing that the older wolf was there also.

Lanis

He felt like his spirit was floating, when he was howling, but when grace came, his connection with his ancestors was broke. He stood up.

"Hello Grace." He said quietly "What are you doing here?" He added

Fadalia

Fadalia yawned and trotted out of her den, she stretched in the morning sun. A howl came from the trees, she recognized it as Lanis. The poor thing was howling to his ancestors. Without thinking Fadalia threw up her muzzle and howled back. Without waiting for a response she charged into the woods in search of him.

Grace~

Noticing what she'd done she spoke quickly, "I'm sorry for interupting you," she bowed her head, "I was looking for a few herbs that Luin needed and I'm in no luck in finding them."

Lanis

He nodded. "Try by the river, so many of them grow over there because of all the water access. Grace nodded. "Thanks." She trotted away. Lanis began his howl again.

"OOOOWWWWW! OOOOOOWWWWWW!" He continued, he felt his spirit float again and touch noses with his ancestors. He wouldn't know if something was about to kill him until it touched him, at this state.

Fadalia

Fadalia burst through the bushes, "Lanis" she panted, "I think... I have something to say to you" she walked towards him, her eyes swelling with love...

Lanis

He snapped out of it and his eyes came open. His eyes filled with sorrow, he stared up at the sky, his ancestors rejected talking to him. Lanis looked down at Fadalia from the boulder.

"Yes?" He said, trying to hide his sadness.
