The Random Vampire Story [1]

"I love you," I said quietly, hoping he wouldn't hear.

"What now?" He asked playfully. "I couldn't hear you."

"I love you," I said again, burying my face into his chest and hugging him tightly. He hugged me back.

"I love you too, my sweet," he whispered as I drifted into sleep.

Colt frowned and picked Caiden up and looked at the other two. Bella was asleep.

"Do you think you could carry her. We have to get back to town. It isn't easy to keep from breathing so can you try and carry her so we can get out of here before the werewolves find us?" He asked James,

*Ok, i was annoyed, and i know that was stupid, so ignore the last post.*

For some strange reason, stealing cars becomes a lot easier when you can make an odd strong wind to open the doors whenever you feel.

Driving in a Diablo becomes much more fun when you know its not yours."Now hows that for a speedy hero." thought Slade aloud.

A quarter of an hour later he saw the cave. It looked like they were about ready to leave, but the girls where asleep. Hitting the breaks and turning sharply, he intended to stop right at the cave mouth. To bad it didnt turn out that well.

Rolling down the window, he yelled to Colt," It looked a lot cooler when i pictured it in my head." Colt cracked a smile."Need a lift?"

"That would be nice, " Colt said putting Caiden in the back seat. He buckled her in and James put Bella in too. They climbed in and Slade took off.

When Caiden woke she wasn't in the cave anymore, her head felt light, and it hurt to breathe, like something was stretching her skin with each breath.

"Ow," she said, finally opening her eyes to see a white ceiling, "where the hell am I?"

"Home," Colt's voice next to her said.

"How did I get here?" Caiden asked, Colt sat back down in his chair and looked at Slade who was standing in the doorway.

"Slade found a car and rescued us." Colt replied looking at Caiden again. "The only reason it took so long was he was looking for a really nice car."

Caiden rolled her eyes and looked at Slade, "quite typical of you you know. A diablo I recall?"

Slade nodded.

"Not as safe as a volvo you know."

"But much more fun."

"You're such a dork you know that?"

He grinned, "aint it fun?"

Caiden laughed and laid back against the couch, "what do we do about the werewolves?"

"I say we run again," James said, "even with the extra wizard they'll easily beat us....again."

"So we run and run and run until they catch us?" Colt said.

"Running away from them will just give them more time to get more wolves, and we wont be able to get very many more people to come help us. Running would be suicidal, and staying may seem suicidal but it isn't as much as running is." Colt said, Caiden nodded.

"If we just get ready and arm ourselves we would be better off then taking off. He is right, we just have to prepare." Caiden said,

"Werewolves hate vampires," Slade said simply, "so its those two they're after."

"And me and James, and now you," Caiden said sourly, "and if you say another word about this you know how mean i can be," she gave him an evil look and he looked as if he were about to keep his mouth shut.

"Why us too?" he demanded.

"Because we're in love," James said.

"ANd what about you Caiden?"

"I'm helping them," Caiden replied a bit hesitantly, not sure if it was a THEM or a HIM issue. She liked Colt, more than she'd enjoy to admit. And she could only hope he liked her too, with his behavior he may, but she couldn't be sure. "Well..." she said trying not to leave an akward pause while she thought about that, "where do we begin?"

"WE have to get weapons, we have to learn to fight them. It wont be extermly hard for me and Bella, even Slade if he stays along with us. But for you two it will be hard, they are immortals in a way." Colt replied glancing at Caiden, normally he would've just have kept to himself but with her at stake he was stuck. She was sweet, tough, but sweet.

"So, where do we begin?" She asked again,

"Get weapons and stay together in groups." He replied.

Bella~

"I know where we can get weapons..." I said quietly, looking at the others. They all turned to me expectantly.

"Where?" Colt asked.

"My house," I replied simply. James' emotions changed...I could feel it in the air. He didn't like the idea of entering a vampires house...no matter how much he said he trusted me. I put a hand on his arm, hoping to comfort him. "I...collect weapons, as you might like to put it. Just random things I've saved up over the years..."

"Well," Caiden said, "what are we waiting for? Lets get going."

"How are we supposed to get there?"

Caiden smiled and turned back to Slade, "still got the Diablo running?"

He returned the smile, "no, but I can get it goin."

"How are we all going to fit?" Colt asked.

"I have an old borrowed truck in the garadge, I don't know how fast it'll go but it'll get us there."

Bella~

I pointed down my road, and Slade gave me a critical look.

"Of course, you live on some creepy abandoned looking street that hasn't even been paved. That sounds just like a vampire," he rolled his eyes, sounding slightly bitter.

"If you value your throat, you best watch your words," I replied quietly, sitting back. "The next house on your left," I added.

"There aren't any other houses," James commented.

"I know, but I felt the need to say it."

We pulled into my driveway, and Slade parked. Everyone began moving.

"Wait!" I snapped, hoping they would stop. They did. "Before you all go rushing into my house," I began slowly. "I would prefer if you didn't go into a room if the door is shut."

"Why not?" Slade asked.

"Because it's my house, and I don't want you goign through my stuff!" I snapped, opening the door and jumping out.

James-

I eyes her suspiciously for a moment before shrugging and going up to the front door.

"Is it okay if we go in here?" i asked sarcastically, jabbing my finger at the closed front door.

She pretended to laugh, opened the door, and shoved me through. I stumbled but caught myself before i crashed to the floor.

"Haha, yes, funny." I said, rolling my eyes and lighting a small ball of flame in the palm of my hand and looking around. We stood in the center of what appeared to be her living room.

"So where are the weapons?" I asked, a slight bitterness to my voice that i hoped she wouldn't catch. Apparently she didn't, but instead led us into another room.

Bella~

I led the group into the kitchen, pushing a cabinet out of my way easily. Behind it was, as cliched as this sounds, a secret stairwell. As everyone filed down the stairs, I pulled James aside.

"Are you alright?" I asked quietly.

"Fine," he replied shortly.

"You don't seem fine. Your heart is racing, I can smell it." he shuddered. "Don't worry. I promised I wouldn't harm you, remember?" he glared at me for a brief moment. My emotions, which were going haywire in a way I couldn't describe, took over. The look he was giving me, pure loathe, caused me to burst into tears.
