Sarabella grumbled well she worked, glaring at Professor Thorn. She made sure their eyes didn't meet, except for that once. Professor Thorn glared back for a long moment, and Sarabella found it impossible to move her eyes away. Finally the teacher spoke.

"Sarabella, I believe you have stopped working. Is there a problem?"

"No...I...um; no," she decided it was best to answer simply, as to avoid more trouble.

"Well then I suggest you get back to work before you earn another detention."

"You give those out a lot lately, don't you?" Sarabella asked snidely, keepign her voice just loud enough that Thorn could hear.

"Excuse me? Is that your place?"

"Probably not, but what's the worst you can do?" Thorn looked slighlty taken aback, and very angry. Of course, she really didn't want to take points from her own house...

"I take it you would just prefer that I hand you another then. Actually, I think we ought to take care of your mouth once and for all; detention for a week, starting tomorrow." Sarabella smiled at her teacher snidely. She didn't care at all. "Apparently you do plan on repeating last year." Sarabella smiled again, and large, rather uncaring smile.

After lunch, I found myself in the Slytherin common room which was practically vacant.

"Where is everyone?" I mumbled as I took a seat in one of the rather uncomfortable chairs. An annoying fourth year took it upon himself to answer me.

"Sounds like they all got detention for being bad little snakes," He smirked.

"And isn't that what slytherins do best?" A girl retorted lamely.

"No," An older boy corrected, "A good slytherin is never caught.."

"Well I've yet to meet a good slytherin but I'll let you know when I do," I snorted.

When they were finally finished working, Sarabella and the others left for their dormitories. She listened to the others bicker, unwilling to jump in.

"Sara tell him-" Linds began, but Sarabella cut her off.

"I'm not telling him anything, Linds; this is your fight, YOU finish it," she retorted sharply, walking ahead of them. She noticed that they both fell silent immediatly, and smirked.

As she and Linds entered the common room, many heads turned to face them. A couple people whispered, and Sarabella ignored them. She ran to her bed, grabbed her book, and reseated herslef in the common room to read.

"What did you do Lindsay? Get in a fight?' one of the slytherin boys asked.

"Well, that's not the reason I got detention." I said and winked.

"Hey, you got caught though. You know what they say..."

"I only got caught because of some stupid ravenclaw that couldn't keep his mouth shut!" I shouted. A lot of cursing and shouting went on about how ravenclaws are such a pain. Then they started on about gryfindor. I rolled my eyes. I was sick of this conversation. I used my wand to make a loud bang or sparks and everyone fell silent.

"I'm exhausted from manual labor. I'm going to bed! I don't need to hear you bickering about gryfindors when I'm trying to sleep!" I snapped at them and stormed up and flung myself onto my bed. I fell asleep shortly after.

After the next days class, I sat in the library starting on my homework. I picked up my quill and just before I was about to write, a voice behind me said, "You Ravenclaws work to hard."

"At least I get O's in most of my classes Kaya," I retorted. "You better study extra hard this year, with your O.W.L.s this year."

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

Many of the Slytherins resumed their bickering as Lindsay retreated upstairs. I muttered a few words under my breathe and flicked my wand.

"What did you do?" One of the second years asked nervously. I did not reply. Instead, I headed upstairs to much worried shuffling. Fools. Like I was going to waste good spells on them. I rolled my eyes as I stowed my books and such beneath my bed and then changed for the night.

The next morning, I ate a hurried breakfast and then checked my timetable before heading out into the hallway.

"Miss Glass," A voice called out. I turned around to find the head of Slytherin behind me.

"Yes proffessor Thornton?" I asked politely.

"If you're not too busy, I'd like you to escort young Snaxon to his class," Thorn replied. I peered at the scrawny girl beside him and scowled. You'd think that he'd have realised by now that I didn't like socialising. With a sigh, I forced the frown to recede and nodded.

"Yes Professor Thornton."

Kaya picked up her book and sat down across from Ash, who was scribbling notes on his paper. She watched him for a moment before turning to the right page in her book and stared reading. Without looking up she asked, "What classes do you have tomorrow?"

"I have Potions, with the Hufflepuffs," I replied, "Divination with Gryfindors, Herbology with Slytherins, then Double Charms with Slytherins." I looked at my list. "That's about it then I got Quidditch practice after dinner." I then went back to my essay on Polyjuice Potions.

Sarabella got up early and slipped out of hte dormitories, taking her broom with her. She walked out onto the Quidditch pitch and began flying around, practicing. She played Seeker, and couldn't afford any mistakes.

"What're you doing?" a griffindor shouted as he walked onto the field.

"What's it look like i'm doing? I'm flying you idiot!"

"My god, you don't have to be so rude!"

"And you don't have to be so stupid."

"Think fast!" He called, throwing somehting silver into the air with great force. Sarabella caught it no problem.

"What was that for?"

"I'm the griffindor seeker. If you're gonna be out here, you can help me practice. And, as far as i'm aware of, you're seeker too. So it's a win-win situation."

"Ok, think fast!" she snapped, throwing the ball with all her might. It flew out of sight, and seeing as the boy wasn't even on his broom yet, it was lost.

Still exhausted from yesterday's labor, Alice and Sedry slumped in a heap on one of the tables at lunch. Everyone suddenly got quiet and stared at Sedry with strange looks. Excited whispers were sent all around.

"What?" he said, returning the glares. "What's the big deal?"

One of the fourth years got courageous. "Is... is it true that you helped out a Slytherin girl?"

Sedry looked back and forth, confused. "And? What's the problem with that?"

Overdramatic gasps run through the students.
"No one helps a Slytherin!" someone shouted out.

Sedry was appalled by his own group. "I can't believe you call yourselves Griffindors!"

In a huff, he stood up from the table and stormed out of the room.

Lindsay watched the whole conversation from the sidelines. She debated whether or not she should follow Sedry.

I decided I would. It's not like I was deep in a conversation. I jumped up and ran after him.

"Sedry!" I called. He turned around with a look of serious rage.

"What?"

"Saw what happened." I said. "You gonna be ok?"
"After it happened I thought that I'd just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don't stay buried. I didn't think it would, but it taints your whole life."

Sarabella finished eating quickly, and pulled out her book so she could do some reading.

"What are you reading?" another slytherin, a boy, asked, reaching for the book.

"Nothing of consequence," she replied, pulling the book out of his reach and not looking up.

"Let me see!"

"No!" she pulled out her wand and went to hex him, but Professor Thorn was behind her and had pulled the book and her wand out of her hands before she knew what was going on.

"Professor, what're you doing?" Sarabella asked angrilly.

"Taking away what seems to be the cause of an arguement. Hmm...this is just one of your schoolbooks," the professor commented. "No hexing other students," he snapped before handing back her possessions. Sarabella smirked to herself as she went back to her reading up on teh dark arts.

Sedry looked at Lindsay in shock. "Umm... huh?"

She rolled her eyes. "Is it really that big of surprise that a slytherin is concerned?"

Sedry shook his head vigorously, the rage completely cleared from his eyes from one look at her. "No, no that's not what I meant... I mean... umm."

He turned a deep red and looked away, trying to push the nervousness to the back of his mind. How could a Slytherin girl be so pretty?

Lindsay waved her hand back and forth in front of his face. "Umm... hello? are you okay?"

Sedry came back to his senses in an instant. "oh, yeah. But that was definitly a first from my fellow Gryfs. Didn't expect it."

Lindsay smiled warmly. "Good. I just wanted to make sure..."

Alice suddenly came bursting into the scene, tripping over herself and sending her monstrousity of a wand flying directly at Lindsay.
"Sedry are you- oops!"
Sedry reacted instantly. He pulled his wand out with one hand and Pulled Lindsay near him with the other.
"Expelliarmus!"
the wand changed course and impaled in one of the many knight suits standing guard in the hallway.

After the days lessons I finally made my way up to the Ravenclaw Tower and got on my Quidditch gear. I made my way down to the field and entered the Ravenclaw Changing Room. "You guys ready," said the Captain, "we got to win the cup this year."

"Come on Cap," Geset, the Keeper said, "we got it two years ago, I think we can get it."

"Well, let's make sure we do, to the field team." I picked up my broom and club and walked out onto the field to begin practice.
