Are you always such a pessimistic....person.... about storybooks, Dynamo? Half of the storybooks are never completed. If you have such a problem that you need to be acknowledged for it, please PM the starter of the thread and don't clog up the story thread.

Meg and I glared at Inu. "Wanna lose our team points already?"

"Don't worry, he can't take away point until tomorrow. School hasn't began yet."

"He's the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher," Alice said.

"What makes you think that?"

"Proffesor Jerik ain't coming no more. He started to worry about that supposed curse on the position and chickened out."

"Well, I hope he's better than the rest."

Alice stood up when Hogwarts came into view, she gasped with joy and sat back down. Afraid that she'd trip over somebody.

"Oh guess what?" she said.

"What?"

"I've figured out how to defend myself now. No more pranks."

"How?"

"Expeliarmias!" she pointed her wand at Inu. Instantly her wand flew into Alice's hand. "see?"

Eh, I guess I'll try it out for a bit. I can always quit, right?

Wand: Oak, 14 inches, Dragon Heartstring
Other: A troublemaker, and rebel. Not much for rules, always getting in trouble, sort of a "burn out" most people don't think he'll be doing much or "going" anywhere (i.e. jobs, college. etc) after hogwarts, but he is very gifted at (certain kinds) of magic, so most people just hope that he'll be good enough to wrangle himself a job after graduation.

I shall join but I haven't finished reading book 7 so not too many spoilers please?

Personality= Kate is a very distant, lonely person and does not seem to fit in anywhere. When she tried the sorting hat on, she insisted that she wasn't to be placed in Hufflepuff which was where the hat initially wanted to put her.
Looks= Kate is a tall girl with long, black hair and blue eyes. She has pale skin.

Initially, I sat alone on the train but then one student dared to sit across from me with no explanation and another filtered in.
"Everywhere else is full," The second student said with a shrug before sitting down. I decided to ignore them. I'm not good with people. Never have been. The stupid sorting hat seemed to think that would change but that was five years ago and I'm still a solitary person. Other people don't like me anyway. Even the other slytherin student's don't understand me.
"So what are your names?" The second student asked.

Wand: Willow, 16 inches, pheonix feather
House: Gryfindor
Personality: very quiet and calm, takes a lot to befriend her and not much to anger her
Appearance: tall, blonde hair that hangs past shoulders, blue-green eyes

I stepped out of the horse-less carriage and back into the pouring rain. I looked up at Hogwarts, looming, with it's massive figure over head. I ran toward the entrance before I was soaked.

I soon entered the dry area of the Entrance Hall. "Man it's pouring," I said to Inu.

"Yeah," Inu replied.

"Well, let's see what the Headmaster has to say and eat," I said as I entered the Great Hall.

I ran past, practically diving for the hall. Ah, Hogwarts!

I shuddered, briefly recalling the Battle of Hallow that I had played a small part in and the sight of Hogwarts falling apart.

No more, I told myself.

I was one of the first in the hall and looked up at the staff table, eagerly.

Professor Flitwick, my head of house - I waved to him - , Professor Procom, staring at me disdainfully, Professor Sprout, Professor Slughorn, and Professor McGonagall, sitting in the headmaster's chair.

I have no recollection of Professor Dumbledore sitting there, though I dearly wish I could have met him. I took a seat close to the head table...I like meeting the first years.

The rest of the hall was filling up slowly, their anticipation bubbling up in gales of laughter and friendly chatter.

I sat at the Ravenclaw table and started chatting with the people I have not spoken to in a while. But soon everyone feel silent as the Entrance Hall doors opened admitting the newly arrived students.

They all came in looking wet and cold. They all line up in front of the head table as Proffesor Flitwick came in carrying a stool and the Sorting Hat. Headmistress McGonagall came up with a list and started calling off names.

Age: 16
Year: 5
Wand: Oak, 13 inches, Phoenix Feather
House: Gryfindor
Appearance: Tanned skin and bright blue eyes. Dark hair and normal height for her age. Long, slender fingers and a heart shaped face. Skinny but not excessively thin.
Personality: Quick thinking and witty. Never one to run from a fight and always ready to give help where needed. Very mischievous.

appearance: tall, well built, spiked black hair, deep green eyes.
personality: stubborn and ignorant, but kind and helpful. Once set on a goal, he never quits. Has a secret hobby of writing poetry... (mind if I claim the title of captain of the gryffindor quidditch team?)

The bustling of students seemed endless as I looked for an open spot. Feeling slightly idiotic of the fact that I was one of the few still standing, I quickly grabbed a nearby opening at the table.

"Gryffindor!" the sorting hat bellowed.

We all cheered as the bouncy young girl came sprinting towards the table, a wide smile on her face.

"Got to love the little kids." I said without looking to the person beside me. When I finally chanced a glance, I was met by glittery blue eyes. I smiled, knowing it to be only one person.

"Kaya. Didn't see you there."

Alice cheered and waved her wand in the air, instinctivly people ducked.

"Be careful with that Alice!" Sedry shouted from across the table, "if you don't shoot off a spell you'll take someone's eye out!"

"Its not my fault I got the longest one in the ruddy store!"

I rolled my eyes as, once more, the hall erupted into cheers as yet another scrawny first year was placed.
"Cheer!" The boy beside me hissed, "This one's in out house." In response, I gave a half hearted clap and studied the sneering, arrogant young boy.
"Hey there. Look who got the best house," He smirked, taking a seat. I ignored him and turned to watch the Griffindor table clap again as they received another girl.

At last, the sorting was over, the speeches finished and people began to eat.
"Pass the cake," The boy beside me demanded. He did not seem to understand that I was an unsociable child but, with a sigh, I passed him the food.
"So. You're in my year. We didn't talk much last year, did we?" The boy rambled, flashing his white teeth.
"No," I replied simply and then left the table and headed for the slytherin common room.

As the feast finished and Proffesor McGonagall gave her last speech, I stood up and head for the Entrace hall and walked for the West Tower.

When I reached the entrance, the raven on the door asked, "What came first, the phoenix or the flame?"

"It's a circle," I replied.

"Well said," the raven said and the door to the room opened up.

"So, how is our Beater this year?" said the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain, Frask Leron.

"Fine Frask," I responded. "I'm tired, I'm going to the Dormitory early."

"Suit yourself."
