"You're planning to get that thing right? That weapon I was supposed to use against Jay, but never got the chance?"

Matt nodded.

"It'd be a bloody waste of time," she said, "remember what Ned said? Only someone on a quest for revenge could use it."

Matt shrugged, "I mighta remembered."

"When you tried to use it, Adam's only going to be able to use it properly."

Alice's tone was unusually stern and convincing tonight. Perhaps from lack of caffieen... She hoped the coffee would be ready soon, instant or not.

"What do you need a long-range teleporter for, Matt?" Bella asked, trying to reach into his mind as she asked. All she got was elevator music (haha).

"Um...well..." she knew he had a secret too. She gave him a sceptical look and waited for an explanation.

Nutty shrugged. "If it's going to help, at all, then why not get it?" She put her coffee cup down sadly. "I would transport you there, Matt, but I can't go that far."
"What if someone else has a quest for revenge?" Matt asked. "Maybe not just Adam has something to be angry about."

"Besides, earth is to far away for the transporter," Adam noted. He was glad for the change of subject. He wasn't ready to reveal his past. Not yet. "I'm gonna repair some of the systems, All of you get some rest."

Adam sat down to the main computer, scientists hovering over him. He entered many commands, trying to restore the operating system. It would get there....slowly.

Bella looked down at her arms unhappily..."Does this count as a reason for revenge?" she asked. "This hurts like Helk."

"Helk?"

"Yeah, that's my way of saying Hell without cussing."

"Oh."

"So, does this count as revenge worthy or no?"

"We're too far from Earth?" Mattster exclaimed. "Damn it!"

There has got to be a way to get to Earth from here.

Mattster sat in thought. All of a sudden he had a brainwave.

"Couldn't I," he said, interrupting a disgruntled Rick who had just begun to talk, "couple my magic together with someone else's and use my teleport spell to return to Earth?"

The others sat in thought. Adam coughed.

"Erm," he said hurriedly, "even if that's possible, I don't think the magic of a mere two people will be sufficient, and um... two people would be all we can spare at this point, really. And we can't all go, not while Elisandro has that disk. Not to mention that Mattster's spells have an unfortunately high chance of going wrong."

The others nodded and grunted in agreement.

"Geez, no need to rub it in," Mattster pouted.

"I would do it... if I wasn't needed. I have a certain skill in transportation too... wouldn't that count for more then just any magic user?" Nutty mused, looking around the room.
"We need everyone... this mage guy isn't someone to be underestimated, Nutty." Adam declared.
"But wouldn't this weapon help? It wouldn't take long..." Nutty turned to Matt. "Would it?"
Matt merely shrugged, sulking.
Alice shook her head. "But you are the main... healy-type person."
"Others can do it, you know. I just seem to be the one with the most time on my hands to do it."

"I'm ording all of you to rest," Adam said from the chair. "no more plotting for today. We have a lot to do and a very small window to do it in."

"Come on guys," said Alice. She led the Crew out of the command room. No doubt they would plot away from Adam as he stablized the Station's systems.

Heather approached Mattster and Nutty warily. At the sound of footsteps they're talking ceased and the tension in the room leapt to the ceiling.

"Oh. Hi Heather," Nutty breathed a sigh of relief and Mattster acknowledged the new occupant of the room with a nod.

"Hi. Um. I was thinking that if you want some help teleporting you could borrow my sword. I know it's not that strong but you could drain the magic..."

Alice heard a few murmering words around the corner and couldn't stop herself. She jumpped around and said, "what are you three up to?"

They all jerked up, looking guilty and said, "nothing."

Alice rolled her eyes and said, "I doubt that." She waved her hand in front of her face, "whatever you're up to...I want in."

Nutty sighed impatiently. "No! Not all of us can go. Plus, Alice, what me and matt were planning.... goes against orders. I'm not dragging you down with us."
Nutty looked at Matt.
"You know the captain won't like this..."
"Adam will get over it, won't he?" Matt shifted slightly, uncomfortable.
"He'll have to. We are doing it to help, after all." Nutty looked back at Alice. "They need you here. I'll give you my medical supplies and my medical book... just in case. But like Adam said, we can only spare two."
Nutty watched Alice's face cloud over.
"You know I'm right."

"Let me handle this," Mattster whispered to Nutty before addressing Heather and Alice.

"Of course you can help!"
Nutty stared.
"All we need you two to do," Mattster muttered, "is meet us at the bridge at midnight. Then we'll all go together."

After the plans had been made, Alice and Heather left satisfied. Nutty glared at Mattster.

"And how exactly is Adam going to retrieve that disc without those two?"
"Oh, he won't have to," Mattster grinned. "Our part of the plan doesn't involve the bridge at all."

Nutty grinned back. "Oldest trick in the book." She laughed and pulled out her spork, rubbing in absent mindedly.
She thought, then spoke. "But knowing our comrades, they'll find some way to tag along anyway. And I don't think this mission needs any more then two..."
"Threes a crowd, eh?"
"Yeah. They aren't stupid, you know."
Matt looked affronted. "They trust us! Don't they?"
"Me, probably. You... no comment."
"So, what's the plan then?"
Nutty looked around. "Should we just... go now? I have my pack... is there anything you need to grab?"
"Yeah... how about we leave at 10?"
Nutty nodded and returned to her room.
Disobeying orders... look at me now. Oh well I'm doing it for the right reasons. I think.

----That night at ten----
"Matt? You ready?" Nutty was standing in the hall outside Matt's room. A muffled thump came from inside the room.
"Matt! Do you want everyone to hear?"
Matt finally poked his head out the door. "No..."
"Then keep it down! You got everything?"
Matt checked. "Yeap."
"Okay." Nutty tried not to show she was shaking. "So, shall we try for the whole way? Or just planet-hop?"
"Um... the second one?"
Nutty nodded. "Right then." Stepping beside Matt, she grabbed his arm. "You know the drill."
They disappeared.

"So I'll see you at midnight?" Heather turned to face Alice who shook her head and indicated that she should follow. Filled with curiosity, Heather did so and they headed for Alice's room.

"They're going to go without us," Alice hissed after a moment.

"You sure?" Heather asked.

"Certain."

"Then what are we going to do?"

"Meet them there. Think that sword can take the both of us?"

"We can try."

"Okay. Let's go."

"Now? Don't we need supplies?"

"Nope. If all goes well we'll meet up with Matt and Nutty, get the weapon and be back by morning."

"And if all goes wrong?"

"We'll be in big trouble."

"Okay. Hold onto the sword and let's see if this works."

Alice grabbed onto the sword and they vanished, reappearing next to nutty and Matt in the ice like chamber.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Matt asked, startled.

"We weren't about to let you two have the fun," Alice said, "plus, I couldn't keep this secret to save my soul."

Nutty groaned, "Adam's already going to kill us, you two go back and save your own butts."

Heather shook her head, "nope, we're not going anywhere. We're going to help you guys, and we'll be back in the highwind before they realize were we've went."
