Lethero gathered all the rescued creatures and told them that they had to move. No left so far besides Telayna. Everyone was eager to move.

Lethero stared at the Alan, Telayna, left behind. "Don't worry , Lethero said walking up to the Alan, "she'll come back. I know she won't leave you here."

*Mwahaha! I'm baaaack!*

Telayna sat up at the top of a tree and freely poured tears. Why did I do that? I'm an idiot! No...I'm not. I left for a reason. Because of what's happened before. Stop this crying! That was the past! This is NOW! Go back and ask Lethero to forgive you. They need you! Ask that mutt for forgiveness? I don't think so! What has he done for me? He accepted you, you Jerk! He promised to protect you. I could've survived on my own! Even better! He just got me attacked! He helped you meet Althen...Althen...I'm so sorry...I feel horrible. I have to go back!"

Telayna got up and flew back she landed on a nearby tree, but out of site. She looked longingly at the pack. One of the wolves walked over to Lethero.

"Sir. We can't wait any longer. We must go. With or without Telayna."

"But I know she'll come back soon." He said scanning the skies.

"I'm sorry sir. But one girl for the safety of the pack. Listen to yourself."

"You're right. We'll move on."

Everyone gathered up and they started to move. She flew ahead and landed right in front of Lethero. She swung his sword out and held it at her neck.

"What? You're gonna kill me? After all we've been though? I thought you loved me!" She said in an overly dramatic voice. Lethero lowered his sword and just looked at her.

"I could never love anything with that ugly face." He said smiling. Telayna started laughing.

"I know you're not one for hugs but..." She wrapped her arms around his next and hugged him. Then she ran over to Althen and they embraced.

"I missed you!" He said, holding her.

"Same here." She smiled. Some pack member came out.

"We still should go sir."

"Ooh! Road trip! Fill me in?"
"After it happened I thought that I'd just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don't stay buried. I didn't think it would, but it taints your whole life."

Lethero was glad with Telayna's return. "Well Telayna," Lethero said, "glad you're back."

"I'm glad to be back," she replied. "I can back because I thought this pack wouldn't be able to survive without me."

Lethero rolled his eyes. "Sure."

**And I return, yet again**
Fyra flew through the clouds, studying the forest below. Where had they gone?
Diving to just above the treetops, she whistled in inquiry. She knew they were around here somewhere...
Through a gap in the trees, she spotted lethero. Diving, she landed right next to him.
"Fyra?" He turned, surprised.
"I'm back! I was bored of defending my territory. So. Where are we going?"

"We're finally getting to the mountain," Lethero said with a smile. He was glad to see his old friend again.

"Oh finally, you're off towards the mountains," Fyra said with delight. "So have you had any trouble without me?"

"You wouldn't beleive," Lethero said and began to tell Fyra the story.

"Dragon? Dead?" Fyra shook her head in amazement. "I had better stick around, then."
Lethero laughed. "If a dragon died on this quest, how are you going to fare?" He grinned.
Fyra winked. "Oh, I have an uncanny ability to stay alive. After all, I'm living, aren't I?"
"True, but you weren't here."
"I had... some business to attend to." Fyra shrugged. "I'm here now."

Alje looked back over her shoulder while she was helping the other dragons out of the clearing.

"Keep going, I'll be right back." Alje told the others. They nodded.

Alje transformed into a human and ran over to Lethero, where he was talking to an Alan Alje thought she recognized. As she grew nearer she saw it was the Alan that had flown off right before Raiana's death. She couldn't remember her name.

"...I thought this pack wouldn't be able to survive without me." the female Alan said to Lethero. Alje snorted to herself.

"Sure," Lethero said, rolling his eyes.

Alje came to stand next to Lethero. She looked over at the Alan.

"Who are you?" Alje asked. Her dark green eyes seemed to glow in the fading afternoon sun.

"I can ask the same thing to you. Anyway, my name is Telayna." the Alan replied. Alje finally remembered.

"I am Alje, Raiana's apprentice." Alje said, raising her head higher with pride.

"I see. And where is Raiana now?" Telayna asked, looking around as if expecting the silver dragon to come walking out of the forest.

'She doesnt know...' Alje realized. Her eyes grew sad.

"Raiana is dead." Alje told the Alan. Telayna gasped slightly.

"How...?"

"She sacrificed herself to save us from the dead priest." Alje said.

"I'm so sorry..." Telayna said. "But...how are you her apprentice...if she's..."

Alje sighed, wondering if she was going to have to explain this to everyone.

"Before she died, she promised me she would teach me magic. She still holds that promise, even in death."

"Alje, do you know a shorter route between those two mountains up there?" Lethero asked, quickly changing the subject. "I know you lived in these parts before you were captured."

"Yes, but it involves ancient tunnels. I'm not sure if they are all still intact." Alje said.

"There's no knowing until we look." Lethero said. With that he followed the last of the creatures from the clearing, heading west.

Telayna walked next to Althen. She was so tired of traveling. Why couldn't they just stay in one spot It'll all be over soon. We'll get there...and everyone will be happy. Yeah...psh. Am I kidding myself? We're bound to run into something...

"Hey Lethero?" She called up to him.

"Yes?"

"Um...you...ya know...you killed that preist right?" He looked at her then out at the sky.

"Yeah. I killed him."

"So no more threat right? We're safe?"

"I never said that..."

"What do you mean? What's out there?"

"Well, let's see," Lethero began, "we got humans and their army, the preists, and rogue magical creatures."

"Oh," Telayna said, "but shouldn't that last fight tell them that we can beat them. Shouldn't they stop fighting us."

"I wish that would happened, but as long as we live, we will always hunted. We will not find complete peace, but we can make sure we have some. The mountains are a good place to hide, it'll be hard for the humans to access it, but one day they will find a way."

Alje led them to the base of the mountains. There she located one of the tunnels that had not collapsed and ushered everyone inside. Luckily, this tunnle led only to the valley nestled inside the mountains ring. This meant they could find refuge there, away from the humans.

Once everyone was inside and safe on the other side, Alje cast a spell making a giant boulder crash down in front of the opening, so that no human could get in. They could easily get out, all Alje had to to was reverse the spell, meaning a quick escape.

Syden sighed and set his head on his paws as Yera slid off his back. He felt a sudden, uncharacteristic surge of fury. "We shouldn't be penned up here," he said with a growl. "Why should we? just because some little humans decide that we should live like fugitives does not mean that we have to do what they say!" he sighed and shook his head.

Yera gazed at him for a moment, then shrugged. "If we reversed the situations, the humans would reverse it like we did."

Syden stared at her, trying to make sense of her words, then slowly understood. "It's been like this all throughout history, then?" he said. "Humans hunting creatures, creatures hunting humans, then Humans hunting creatures again..." he sighed. "Then what could we change, anyway?"

"Ajle," Lethero began, "move the boulder."

"Why?" Ajle asked.

"Just move it," Lethero said more sternly.

"Lethero, that's the only thing that's going to keep humans out."

Lethero glared at Ajle. "We will not act like cornered animals. It will only be a matter og time before humans find a way to move the boulder and we will be trapped in here."

"But if we move, we'll only be saving them the time."

"We need to do something no other race of magical creatures have done; we need to befriend the humans. If we do nothing we'll all be hunted and killed. We need to preserve our future. If we do treaties with humans, we can ensure that future."

Alje frowned. "But Lethero, it will never work. The humans hearts are filled with rage, it has consumed them. There is no way we will be able to even talk to them, much less form a treaty! Plus, we have that other dead priest to worry about."

"I know." Lethero said. The image of Raiana sacrificing herself played across his mind. "But it is this or have to worry about humans, too. It will not be easy to get the humans to cooperate. Now please, move the boulder."

Alje sighed.

"Lethero is right. A peace treaty would help things a lot, but like he said, it will not be easy to get the humans to listen. But it can be done." Raiana spoke in her mind.

"But...what if the humans kill us before we have a chance to talk. Or worse, what if they break the treaty? Who's to know if we are all dead?" Alje shouted through her mind.

"Human's are smarter than you think. They will listen, because it would not just be you who dies if the treaty is broken. Now do as Lethero said."

Alje sighed again and using some slight magics, she moved the boulder and sent it crashing to the ground in her frustration. She turned to join the other dragons and get some rest. She just now realized how tired she was.

Fyra laughed. "I have spoken to many humans before." Sitting on her hunches, she was perfectly at ease.
Lethero frowned. "They didn't attack you?"
"No. Some are willing to listen, if you pick the right ones. The peasants see us as demon-spawn, come to wreck havoc from hell. But if you get the scholars, the philosophers... the more... renegade ones, anyway, they will hear you out." Fyra stretched lazily. "Are we sleeping now? I've been flying all day."
